  1. What's the big deal with this? It will bring the album to people's attention, that's all it is. I don't get why people are upset, it could've easily been nothing like all the other anniversaries. If she sold this on CD then you can complain about missing tracks but otherwise I don't get the meltdowns. Did you all expect some big project to celebrate the album?

  2. It's digital. Create a playlist of what is missing. It's really not that hard.

  3. I did this 5 years ago just for fun after I saw the Pink Floyd's Immersion box set and wondering why the hell Warner or even Madonna don't treat her legacy properly.

  4. Some of you lot are never satisfied. You were moaning she didn't do anything for 30th Anniversary and now she does you're still not happy, this has been officially endorsed by the the Queen herself so if it's good enough for her its good enough for me

  5. Remember the days of 5 legit music videos per album? Sigh. <3

  6. No but its top 3 having said that i dont think i can rank her albums 100%... so sometimes LAP might be chosen as best album, sometimes not.... depending on mood

  8. So you're not counting TRUE COLORS? Come on! Are we talking about the first woman to win a Tony Award for best composer of a musical? Let's just admit that other artists and their management care more about music releases... We should only pray that Madonna and Warner decide to do similar things...

  9. This is how it at least should be for me ;)

  11. This is such a nice surprise ! The day is starting well !

  12. It’s just weird. ”this album is dedicated to my mother who taught me how to pray” then they leave off the song about her mother and the prayer at the end? ok werq Warner!

  15. This release was likely handled by Warner and they're not allowed to release anything new without Madonna's approval, so don't expect Angels With Dirty Faces etc to be released until she agrees to it. It's a shame this version isn't complete (why they skipped Promise to Try & Act of Contrition, I have no idea) but I'm thankful that we finally have Supernatural on streaming! Next stop - to upload all of her 7"/12"/remixes...

  16. OMG.... this is fit for a Queen!

  17. I love it, a nice little treat for the fans & an excuse to get some previously unavailable tracks & remixes on streaming. Stop judging it like its a proper release and enjoy it.

  18. I voted yes despite It was released one year before I was born and sometimes it feels difficult to relate to it and its musical production. However, I'm sure every person at the time, who was already growing up to her music can easily say it was one the most fantastic times to be a fan. The Like a Prayer single is definitely the best song in Madonna's entire career. Sure, we do have our favorites, but technically it is. The Express Yourself performance at the MTV, the whole Blond Ambition Tour. I mean, come on! Madonna was never the same artist after LAP and Vogue. This was her peak.

  19. funny i was using spotifiy when it appeared. too bad a physical release didnt happen. even if just to add supernatural to the cd

  22. It’s nice that something has been done even if Madonna isn’t involved and to have a new version of a 30 year old album on streaming platforms is brilliant for introducing new fans and casuals, this is an excellent release

  23. Can't wait for the apologists to go "Oh, well she acknowledges it! We got something! Be grateful bitches. Peace" Well, after I check a bit of speks, I'll be grateful. If they used 80s audio...

  25. It is completly official, at least here in Spain. It is an album, and Promise To Try is missing in favour of Supernatural. What the duck....

  27. What back catalog songs would you really like to see performed live next time she tours? I would love to see Sky Fits Heaven, Bad Girl, Stay, The Look of Love to name a few.

  28. lets focus on this: at least we got something we all know how she avoids to look back on the good times we shared(which means)...

  29. Well, you guys are aware that your reaction is exactly the one I described in my post? ? I do wonder... if there was no remastering and they just plonked the old timey files... why not all the had? Is that a valid concern in the eyes of you, brave true fans?

  30. I liked it. It's not perfect nor what this album deserved, but at least they had something and it didn't go completely ignored like the ROL/Erotica anniversaries did, with just some vague lip-service paid to it by whoever* is managing her non-personal posts on social media. *btw, i mean no offense to this person, you can tell they are really trying but are provided with nothing to work with.

  31. Erotica is and will always be my favorite, but LAP is a close second. There's not a minute of filler. Even Act of Contrition is genius.

  33. I'm starting to think that Madonna is actually Warner.... and Warner is really Madonna... LOL Warner is posting Mambo's twins pics and videos everyday. Or is it Madonna? This is crazy! Or... maybe it is the end of Live Nation era and Warner's come back!!!!! Anything is possible.

  36. Well, I just checked against the single version of "Oh Father" we've had for ages, and which I shared in the "Single Edits" thread. And you know what? They're identical. I think this is fanmade.

  37. Is it so difficult to leave the album as it is and just add outtakes? What's the point in leaving Angels with dirty faces and Love attack rotting in the vaults? Also just get any cover from Google... that is just uninspired.

  38. She doesn‘t release anything as this mess comes from Warner

  39. A seed is concealed in an apple. When you cut an apple in half you can see a star shape. The word star comes from the root Esther meaning concealment. Purim is a holiday where the concealed is revealed. Just FYI. And she has a possible collaboration with Apple, smart business and art as usual.

  40. It's disappointing for seasoned fans like ourselves that such a tectonic album for its time would be honoured in such a deflated way 30 years on. However, I don't know about anyone else, but I generally use Spotify to listen to "popular" songs by particular artists and to discover new artists at the same time. Compilations like this are a great way for non-diehard fans to experience different cuts of tracks from iconic works, but that's as far as my two cents on this goes. Also, while on the subject of LAP, whatever happened to Leonard's 'Bring the Circus Home' fiasco? Guy seems to have vanished into thin air again, ironically just like a (or any) prayer.

  42. Mine arrived last night. Saw it today. Love it. Love the focus on her musical journey, the transition from her wanting to be a professional dancer to embarking on a music career. This docu biopic shows clearly how her drive, ambition and most of all, hard work propelled her to superstardom. This has heightened my admiration & respect for her discipline & her focus on getting what she wants. I’m so glad I bought the dvd.

  43. Ok, I admit it. Although we already knew 99% of the story, the movie is still GREAT and you should all watch it. The trailer doesn't do it justice as we rushed to criticize almost everything about it (isn't it the same everytime Madonan puts some new music out there?). We also get to hear longer snippets of those homemade recordings. I loved the line "Do you cry when I cry?". Wonderfully put. The only thing that still bothers me is the cheap wig they made Jamie wear... could have been better, isn't it? Anyway, go watch it right now. You won't regret it

  44. Norris Burroughs was sooo handsome! Burning Up video doesn't do him justice. No wonder he was M's first beau in NY. She told him he looked like Brando:
