  1. Apparently, in the video for Secret, the director Melodie McDaniel referenced Leigh in the movie Last Exit to Brooklyn as one of the inspirations

  2. "Medellin" isn't just a song to me—it's a piece of my life. Back in 2016 when I was 20, I left my tiny german hometown to spend a year doing voluntary work in Medellin. That year changed everything for me. I picked up Spanish, fell head over heels for Reggaeton, and had the kind of adventures I'd only ever dreamed about. Medellin was also where I first really got to embrace my identity, amazing parties and meeting my first boyfriend. It was wild, freeing, and eye-opening in so many ways. Fast forward a couple of years, and Madonna (who I've been absolutely obsessed with since 2005) drops Medellin with Maluma, who was my Reggaeton fave at the time. It felt like the universe was giving me a nod. The song hit me hard because it was like reliving those Medellin vibes. It's probably why Medellin has been a staple in my Spotify Wrapped for the last five years. It's more than nostalgia; it's a reminder of a time when I felt completely alive and so happy with myself. Honestly, I wish there were demos or anything extra from that Medellin just to keep that magic going. Sorry but Medellín really gives me hardcore maincharacter vibes.

  3. To be fair, she didn't diss Madonna - I've not listened, but the quote 'I don't like her and she doesn't like me' - is just a statement - whether true or not. Now, her dissing Taylor that's gold lol - She does have a point, maybe, Taylor is the Madonna of the now in terms of popularity - but she's certainly not in terms of cultural influences or breaking down barriers! She's also right - Music now is very manufactured to be 'on brand' - but it's always been that case since the invention of 'girl/boy/they/them groups' - the only difference now, is you are the brand - and in a way, Britney was the template (I love Britney) - by that I mean, image, music etc was very controlled to fit a mould, a narrative.

  4. I agree. She looks absolutely beautiful. I don't know why they've made her cheeks so huge on the cover of that new magazine Re-edition cause she looks way more natural on stage.

  5. Damn... she just got that good dick. Also can't believe I never knew this song was so similar to Borderline, that intro!!

  6. Yeah, and she never touches the piano in the part where she fixed her hair. Obviously there's a recorded track with drums and other instruments and Madonna's prerecorded vocals. It's not just piano + voice

  9. That's almost always the case with any artist. The artists ive seen live i've never really notice the imperfections until i re-watch my videos. Its because you're in the moment. So you guys are right... Btw some imperfections i love, it makes concerts more real and human.

  12. I was just stating I feel the videos I took captured great sound. To me anyway. Yolo. And though you can hear imperfections in her voice, when you're in the moment at the show I didn't notice it. You don't think of it because it's so surreal. That was my original point. I think. I thought I would hear imperfections but you just don't think of it when you're experiencing it in person. That's all. It's not deep. Thanks for the quote mazel tov sister.

  13. Exacttly!! Most people who attend live doesn't really care about the mechanics. They are there for the experience. Any recorded experience doesn't replace the LIVE experience.

  14. I mean sure. To be quite honest sound captured on iPhone 15 Pro Max is pretty freakin amazing, considering what's built in. I don't honestly think the imperfections captured are false at all. If anything they highten the imperfections. My CT videos are as clear as day vocally. You can hear everything - as well as every imperfection vocally. What I meant was, when you're attending the show, in person, you don't think of that. As a vocalist myself I didn't think of that. In the moment it's so surreal you don't even hear it. Everything you see and hear in that moment is perfection. Maybe its me lol.

  15. This part is so true. Hearing kinda iffy vocal takes on YouTube throughout some performances... when you're there in the moment you don't pay attention to that. The energy you feel just overtakes your senses and she could sount like shit and it would still be the best night of your life.

  16. I totally agree with Courtney; Taylor is uninteresting and unimportant.

  20. You know I was almost certain she would have done the album version, after Miley's Pandemic Pride concert she did and everyone raved about it. And I always detested accoustic versions of EY. But I must say, seeing it in person on this tour and the lights and her mood... it was definitely something special that I'll never forget. So I guess I did get my EY after all

  21. Of course, she is playing. Some are making more of this than it is. It's not impossible to think she isn't playing "Bad GIrl" along with recorded backing. Just like Madonna singing along with her recorded vocals. I don't understand why this must be an issue? Mercy obviously is a great pianist! I'm certain she's playing her solo part. That is the whole point of her feature, which many are failing to acknowledge. Her performance leads into "Bad Girl" which no doubt includes a full backing instrumental and vocal which both Madonna and Mercy are performing to. Therefore, she's playing along with a recording. Madonna is singing along with a vocal recording. It doesn't mean she isn't playing live or Madonna isn't singing live. So what? She took a moment to fix her hair. It's not a hard concept to comprehend that she joined in after doing so.

  22. I agree... I don't see it as "shade". She simply stated a matter of fact. She didn't really carry on about it all. She simply stated such. I don't believe she was just name dropping either. Many celebrities are always questioned and steered into answering a certain way. Of course, the media will find a way to put a magnifying glass under what is said, and then some fans will put their own spin on it all. I like Courtney. Or at least I did! She's a mess, but she doesn't pretend she's not. She's very authentic and doesn't mince words. I'm sure Courtney nor Madonna sit around thinking about each other. In fact, I'm sure the us carrying on in this thread has spent more time than both Madonna and Courtney ever thought about one another. But let's keep in mind, even in 1995, Madonna was able to keep it respectful with Courtney during that notorious VMA collision.

  29. It was 5 years ago today that we first heard Medellin on Zane Lowe, and it was released. I still remember downloading Apple Music to listen to it on my way home from work. It got a mixed reception from fans I think but I think it holds up really well, it's absolutely packed with hooks.

  30. That's what she said though. She chose Kurt for his nose. It was a tie with another rockstar but she wanted her kids to have his nose. If you read what she said over the years it's total insanity. It was in Behind The Music on MTV. A note by Cobain was found 20 years after his death in which he trashed her but she said she wrote it herself.... She accused Dave Grohl of having made a move on Frances Bean. She said she snorts Kurt's ashes....it goes on and on...

  32. I know, many people feel like EY deserved a performance in full mode and I understand what you mean about the imaginary of it. At the same time, you know, I always felt that the positive vibes of the album version had something special and this acoustic so unexpected and nicely executed folk version makes me feel it in a way. So, personally, I'm ok also with the acoustic tribute we got. Definitely agree about LAP and, as I wrote in my post, about the time dedicated to the catholic theme. Thanks for your answer man, I'm in a closing mood with this tour and I think that final feelings and opinions are the most interesting ones, cause we completely know and understand the project and at the same time it's not passed and old yet

  33. I expect those remixes for both songs will see the light of day in the near future. I understand why they could combine the two, being they were the two big singles from that period. They did it for the Super Club release, so why not digitally and for streaming? I'm not picky how they choose to do it. I don't disagree the mixes you suggest shouldn't be available digitally and for streaming.
    1 point
  34. Yeah definitely and I'm sure most of the RSD releases will remain exclusives. And you're right I love my copy of the Super Club mix because I did line up and get it. So I see that for sure. I just hope the 12" mixes get uploaded really haha.

  35. It's just a suggestion, I don't control the releases. I was just saying it would be nice to have them on streaming in some capacity and this could be a nice way. I would actually prefer them separately also as that's how they were released; even in Aus where I am. What I don't appreciate is 'Once again: No.'. I won't accept condescending rubbish from other fans, had it in another thread and its genuinely embarrassing behaviour.

  36. I don't think it's going to be something significantly different. The press statement is pretty clear she's bringing The Celebration Tour to Rio to wrap up the tour. I'm gonna bet it will be pretty much the same show, with a possible few minor changes to fit the venue. Since it's being broadcasted, I can't see why she would do a cookie cutter version of the show? No doubt, she wants the world to see this show in it's full glory. I don't mind the discussion and speculation. It's quite fun! It's the certainty some are posting it's going to be completely different that is misleading. I will admit that I don't know anymore than anyone else if it's the full show. Therefore, we should acknowledge that no one knows for certain this show is going to be condensed or completely different either.

  39. I went to the MTV premiere of the video and was sat right in front of her. Amazing memories. I remember The Guardian review of the Madame X tour said the performance of Medellin made it sound like the massive hit it should have been and it's very true.

  40. Her worst lead single with "Gimme all your luvin". I remember when the song hadn't been released yet and the extras from the videos where describing the song, all they would say was "it goes One Two Cha Cha Cha" and i knew it wasn't very good. No one said "the track is amazing " or "it's gonna be a hit this summer", nothing like that, just "she sings one two cha cha cha" ok lol...
