  1. I think everytime two huge stars get together for a collab, expectations also get huge, especially when you are a fan of both artists. THE PROBLEM of "Me Against The Music" is that the overall product let's say didn't meet those expectations. It could've been muuuch bigger. It didn't overcome the VMA performance. THE SONG is great and was a sensation, but I confess I don't like the main mix's "acoustic" vibes. Thank god we have 18 official mixes + variations! The Gabriel & Dresden Mix is the best dance mix in my opinion. THE VIDEO. OMG. What a disappointment. The almost no interaction of both annoys me, but the kiss reference in the end kinda made it okay, I guess. I love the colored underground scenario and Britney looks amazing but I hated Madonna's outfit which in my opinion didn't make her look good plus she looked like she was Britney's grandma. Maybe if she had the Erotica hair she'd look better? NOT TO MENTION her silly and bat tasted playing with leaves scenes and her disagreements with Paul Hunter. Madonna threatened to take herself out of that video at one point! She did NOT get along with the director on that video, PAUL HUNTER, either. She had already worked with him on the GAP spot and had not had a good experience. I remember she called Paul to give him some specific notes on the video and I guess, from what Madonna told me right after, she asked him if he was writing down her comments and he said, “No, I’m DRIVING.” Madonna said, “FUCK YOU”, hung up and called me right away. That was the last video I ever cut with Paul Hunter as I sided with Madge instead of him on creative issues and the direction of Madonna’s performance in the clip. I WAS TRYING TO HELP, I SWEAR. I got it to a place where Madonna was happy. I think the art direction is horrible and the wardrobe is stupid… it should have been way more modern, hipper and edgier for both Britney and Madge. It was one of the weakest videos ever, that NEEDED to be strong but just wasn’t. - Dustin Robinson, the video editor
  2. Did you know that "Don't Stop" was played a lot in Brazil? At least by the station I used to listen to. Fun fact is they also used to play it after the breaks (maybe to kill time?) outside the programs.
  3. I think we have to be impartial when choosing a track that could've been a hit. Just because you love a song, doesn't mean that the song would do good commercially. Songs like "Physical Attraction" - I absolutely love this one - in my opinion, are not strong enough to be a hit. Here are my picks, including singles that didn't get the deserved attention. DRESS YOU UP My favorite - and strongest - "Like A Virgin" single is a very underestimated song that could've had a proper video. Also, I can't deal with the fact that huge hits like "Crazy For You" and "Into The Groove" also ended up without a proper video. SPANISH EYES One of the most beautiful Madonna ballads! This one actually was played in Brazilian stations, but like "The Look of Love", wasn't included on "Something To Remember". Quite unfair! RAIN I'll never understand why "Fever" got 'hundreds' of (weird) mixes but "Rain", another beautiful ballad that could have great dance mixes, only got a radio mix similiar to the original version. Not to mention "Bad Girl"... I LOVE NEW YORK My favorite Confessions track. It could've been a strong fourh single, instead of "Jump". BEAT GOES ON Not because I'm a fan of Pharrell's music since Britney's "I'm a Slave 4 U" (2001), but this is another super overlooked song! The best song of "Hard Candy" could've been a strong lead single. I can't believe she picked "4 minutes" (I was already tired of listening to Timbaland stuff). I like "Give It 2 Me" but it doesn't even get close to this one. By the way I'd like to add I love "Heartbeat" and thankgod she didn't release "Candy Shop". IDK why she likes this one. Maybe if the album version was the promo tour version. ICONIC The title says it all. I think "Rebel Heart" is the album with more songs that could be hits but if I had to choose one, I'd choose "Iconic" as the second single and leave "Ghosttown" as a the fourth. By the way I'm #TeamBitchI'mMadonna and I loved that she released this one. FAZ GOSTOSO Everytime two huge stars collaborate, we expect something huge. Unfortunately, the same thing that happened to "Me Against The Music" happened to "Faz Gostoso": a lost opportunity to make something incredible. In this case it was worst because the song wasn't even released, like the queen just did if just for fun. It could definitely be #1 in Brazil if they wanted. For those who don't know, Anitta is like the Brazilian Madonna. What do you think?
  4. I hope not - at least with these versions - because theses mixes are horrible. Like Adele, I don't like TikTok music. The "Frozen" mix did not became a favorite but it's a good one. "Material Gworl" sounds like way too much hype and the "Hung Up" remix I'll probably never listen to it again because I don't like slowed down songs, not to mention the bass is so annoying. I think since it's a greatest hits tour, she could perform classic mixes or versions close to the originals, like the YCD mixes. For example, I like the "Like A Virgin" mix from the Rebel Heart Tour but I wouldn't like this version on The Celebration Tour. My wish: Do with all songs what was done with "Like A Prayer" in The Immaculate Collection.
  5. Thank you so much for also doing a dark version! My eyes are too sensitive for light themes. Where do I change it tho? I coudn't find the setting anywhere.
  6. What does "Club Edition" means in album - regardless of the format - releases? Why are they called that (on discogs), if those releases have no difference from 'regular' ones? Thanks
  7. It can seem 'silly', but it's a fun/cute song. More 'serious' fans - also the ones that dislike "GMAYL" will obviously hate it.
  8. I think the album is very canned (as in food - I don't know if there's a better word for that). My favorite songs are "GGW", "I'm Addicted" - the best, should've been a single and "Beautiful Killer". By the way, I love "GMAYL" and in my opinion most people that hated it, it's because they feel old. The sound of the album is too loud, too noisy, and to tell you the truth, I used to listen to only the first seven songs, then "Love Spent", then "Beautiful Killer" and that's it. I personally don't like "Masterpiece", a beautiful song but it's like there's something missing. I'd hardly listen to the 'last' song, "Falling free" is beautiful, though I never understand the love many fans have for last album tracks like "Like It Or Not", "Voices" or "Mer Girl". I don't like the tour also. The setlist, the outfits, the DVD cover... Everything feels like there's something missing.
  9. I'm sorry! I was kind of in a bad mood when I read your comment. But I did ask seriously. Btw Madonna's sense of humor is the best!
  10. @emanonThis was supposed to be taken seriously... Anyways. @FighterAfter all these years, I finally got the book for the first time. I was 8 years old when the book was released lol. Now I got a super new Japan edition - only the book tho - for 55 dollars which seemed pretty fair considering the price they sell the book here in Brazil. God knows how hard is for brazilian fans who are poor (and by poor I mean those who have to struggle and make sacrifices, and sometimes pay expensive prices) to collect even the basic stuff.
  11. I love the album but I think it would be just perfect if The Look Of Love (beautifully nostalgic) and Spanish Eyes (which was played a lot in Brazil even though it wasn't a single) were included instead of the (time consuming) Orchestral version of I Want You. In my opinon, this compilation sometimes can feel like too much pasta with too little sauce. It's like something's missing, or was simply - maybe purposely - forgotten.
  12. SOMETHING TO REMEMBER MEGAMIX COMING OCTOBER 30 Follow my Instagram for further info: https://instagram.com/rcb4real/ What do you think of the album? Which other songs should've been included?
  13. where is this cap from? a doc I assume? thanks
  14. Thanks for sharing this interesting fact, btw I love Rob Zombie's films.
  15. Not my favorite album, but an important part in Madonna history I remember being 7 years old and feeling so frustrated that Dick Tracy was not a Madonna movie like Desperately Seeking Susan or Who's That Girl. I used to hate the album. Sometimes I would listen to it but as a soundtrack album. The album does has great songs like Sooner Or Later and More. I used to think an EP (desired tracklist below) should've been enough, used to say Hanky Panky (which later I learned to like) was tacky, and that I'm Going Bananas and Cry Baby were the worst songs she ever done (I really didn't understand the album until now). Besides the smooth transition from Now I'm Following You to Vogue, I still think the song doesn't really fit the album, but who cares? That was one of her greatest business moves! In an alternate reality 1) I'm Breathless EP: 1. He's A Man / 2. Sooner Or Later / 3. Hanky Panky / 4. Back In Business / 5. More 2) Vogue was clearly included to make the album sell but I think it'd be amazing if it had first appeared on the Immaculate Collection. 3) Something To Remember is a beautiful song but a little too slow to me and I like it more on the same title album. Since it's the last song on side A, I have a theory that like Vogue, this was the other 'featured new song' of the album. Please check my I'm Breathless Megamix EP
  16. A PUNK or ROCK album?! Yeah!!! I was listening to the rock version (which I refuse to call demo) of "I Love New York" and thought about how great that would be... "Burning Up" from Rebel Heart Tour or "Borderline" from Sticky & Sweet always make me dream of that too. or... A whole DISCO album: "God Control" is amazing, my favorite Madame X track. But I don't mean a Confessions 2.0, please! I definitely don't like the idea of a new "Like A Prayer", "Ray Of Light" or "Confessions"... So... a back to the roots album would be my choice.
  17. My favorite album is (and always have been) Like A Virgin because that's the Madonna I fell in love with - the 'original' one I'd say. I just love the style, the songs, the energy, the mood... The only 'problem' is my favorite song of the album, Dress You Up - a very underrated song - never got a proper video, although the live video is amazing. By the way The Virgin Tour is my favorite too... My dream album tracklist, duration 79:18 (I do have this on my archive): 01. Material Girl 02. Angel 03. Like A Virgin 04. Crazy For You 05. Gambler 06. Over And Over 07. Love Don't Live Here Anymore 08. Into The Groove 09. Dress You Up 10. Shoo-Bee-Doo 11. Pretender 12. Stay 13. Ain't No Big Deal 14. Material Girl (Extended Dance Remix) 15. Angel (Dance Mix Edit) 16. Like A Virgin (Extended Dance Remix) 17. Dress You Up (The 12'' Formal Mix)
  18. Hey whats up?

I'm sorry about the backlash you got because of your God Control version.
I was really looking forward to watch it, because I had the same idea.

Could you share it with me?

    Thanks!

  19. I NEVER UNDERSTOOD the hate for Give Me All Your Luvin and Bitch I'm Madonna. I'm an old fan that didn't become old, that's why I love these songs. I just think that some Madonna fans need to open their minds and definitely get over the idea of her making another Like A Prayer, Ray Of Light or Confessions album. That will not happen! Not every lead single must be like Frozen let's say. I think this hate has something to do with her age, but just because she's aging, doesn't mean she has to only make 'mature' stuff so old fans that got old don't fell ashamed to listen. I'm 34 and I'm not ashamed to listen to those songs. B-day Song on the other hand is way too happy - rather silly - for me. In my opinion, Hollywood was the best track on American Life, even though it's kinda irritating (the VMA remix is better). By the way I hated that album so much that for some time I used to listen only to the first two tracks. After a while, I learned to appreciate it, but I still think it's a boring album musically (and commercially) speaking, even thought it has great lyrics. Opinions always vary, and never define anything. The worst album for some can be the best to others. The key to happiness madonnally speaking is never expecting anything from the queen and be open to everything she has to offer.
  20. I think everything was fine until Hard Candy was released. In my opinion, The Beat Goes On should've been a single, and a lead single. It's just perfect in every aspect. 4 Minutes was so "I wanna release a Justin/Timbaland song too", but it would still be ok for a second single. Give It 2 Me could've been the third one. Miles Away is a beautiful song, but as a single, does anyone care? Now I don't understand what Madonna sees in Candy Shop, the album version of song is kinda weak, even tho it's said she wanted it to be the first single.... I think it would be a sucess only if they remixed it (as they did on the tour). With MDNA I think she did OK, tho I like Addicted more than Turn Up The Radio. The problem with Rebel Heart is too many great songs (sometimes I think the album has a compilation vibe) but only 2 singles released is so depressing. Iconic (the most powerful song on the album) could've been amazing as a first single, followed by Living For Love and Ghosttown. Thank god she released Bitch I'm Madonna (2nd best song on the album IMO) could've been a first single too, but that would be too obvious and maybe pretentious to the haters). More dream singles? Holy Water or Unapologetic Bitch (to promote the tour) then Rebel Heart (with a proper video) to close the era.
