A new video from the Fine Bros on YouTube. Part of their REACT series. I was pretty disappointed with this one. I was hoping they'd do a Madonna episode, but I think they should've had teens, college kids, or adults react to her instead. I think they would've understood and appreciated her more.

I just watched the film on Netflix and it was great. I think my favorite thing about the movie is that it humanizes these guys. I understand why some of them sued Madonna back then. In Truth or Dare, they're portrayed in a very one-dimensional way. They were clearly being used by her to make her own social/political statements. You either only see them as flamboyant, or in Oliver's case, homophobic. And when the world judges you based on a small percentage of your personality, it must be tough. Especially when all you wanted to do was dance in a show. Sure, they knew they were being filmed for a documentary. But I doubt they knew how it was going to be edited and how they would come across. Don't get me wrong, I understand where Madonna was coming from and I think it's great that she made those statements. But I can also see how it would be difficult for them. The great thing about this film is that you see them in a more human way. You get to see their humor, their vulnerability, their pain, their past and present. I also really loved the tribute to Keith Haring. It was nice to hear her whole speech and you could tell she was tearing up on stage. She obviously really cared about him and missed him. I do wish Nikki and Donna made an appearance. It would've been nice to see them join the guys at the final reunion. I didn't really wish Madonna was there. I doubt they even asked her. And even if they did, I don't think she would've accepted the invitation. She doesn't strike me as the type who would participate in something nostalgic like that. As nostalgic as she's been lately, she still appears to be more invested in the here and now.

I just got my order in the mail!! I got the DVD/CD and 2CD version from Amazon. I am very happy with the packaging of both. The design is very nice, the booklet is a dream, and the cover is the best one she's had for a live release in years! The bonus material on the DVD is very meh. I mean, Like A Prayer is good, but we've gotten that on the last two tours. Take A Bow would've been nice on ALL editions, not just the Japanese release. Plus, the Tears of A Clown excerpt isn't anything to get excited about. I'm not sure why she couldn't include the whole show. The parts that are included on here aren't even the most interesting parts. I would've preferred a behind-the-scenes documentary like she did for Sticky & Sweet. All that behind-the-scenes footage from the Showtime YouTube channel was wasted. But it's about time this tour gets an official release. After seeing the Barclays Center show almost two years ago, I'm very happy to finally have this! -

Thank God the details of the release are finally out. Can't say I'm thrilled with the bonus features. She spends all that time editing and teasing on IG only to include an "excerpt" from Tears of a Clown? And why is Like A Prayer the only extra song? I think we've had plenty of that song on the last three tours. Why not Ghosttown? or Take A Bow?? TAB wasn't performed on ANY of the tours until this one! Missed opportunity. But I'm glad we're finally getting a release. It's about time. I'm just relieved about the DVD cover. It's her best live cover in years!! -

Thanks for the info! I'm obviously not paying close enough attention. PS - That's the best live DVD cover she's had in AGES! -

Sooo..... any news yet on the DVD? A cover? Release date? A live CD? ANYTHING? I find it odd that she said it would be out in time for her birthday and still nothing. Or maybe I'm just out of the loop. -

Madonna Biopic 'Blond Ambition' Lands at Universal
topic replied to Independent Thinker's groovyguy in News ✖ Discussion
This is one of the reasons I don't think Madonna should be on social media. I get that she has a right to say what she wants. I'm not trying to deny or remove that right. However, when you're a legend, there are certain things you just don't do. And criticizing a planned biopic on yourself via social media is one of them. Let me tell you how this should've been handled: Madonna's publicist Liz Rosenberg releases a witty statement to the press dissing the film. End of discussion. Never a peep publicly from Madonna about it. That's how legends handle shit. Madonna is too much of an icon for us to hear from her every day on Instagram. She needs to realize that the best way to rise above mess like this is to ignore it. I miss the days pre-2012 when Madonna was absent from social media. To me, that was a much classier way to handle herself. -

"Would Madonna Madonna suit you better?" "I am NOT Donna SUMMER!" https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZlTWtvpv_YI (I have to give the actress credit here, though. She does do a good job as Madonna.) -
