  1. For sure. It's one of my favorites songs ever. And the music video is a masterpiece while being a tale of that time (Diana/Paparazzi).
  2. I like Don't Stop. It was one of my favs back when I bought Bedtime Stories. It is as harmless as Everybody, Vogue or Music, so one can guess how well it would have done if it was a single. If Candy Shop is retiring anytime soon, I hope Don't Stop takes its place in setlists.
  3. In my opinion, the most important singles are: Everybody - Without its (and Burning Up) moderate sucess, Madonna wouldn't sign with Warner. Holiday - Her first international hit (with no video help), which kept the wheel rolling. Borderline - The video deserves credit for the MTV staple that it became and to give Madonna "her" look. Like A Virgin - In the right place, at the right time: perfect first single, chorus, video, visual, attitude, controversy. If she was a one hit wonder, this would be her hit. Material Girl - Gets points for the video and the nickname. The song itself is an 80's and pop music classic. Helped to cemented Madonna's reputation. La Isla Bonita - Eventually it ended up being a relevant single, as it build a bridge between her and the Latin community, something that still prevails and that not every pop star is able to do. None of the other True Blue/Who's That Girl singles are important per se, as none of them brought something new to the table cuz all had been seen and done before (controversy, romanticism, dance skills, etc). Their sucess was a consequence of her outcome. Like A Prayer - It shown a more serious side of M after her poptard years, and, as Like A Virgin, it's a clever wordplay on her name. The debate that surrounded it all (song, video, Pepsi, tour) is the birthplace of Madonna, the Icon. Express Yourself and Vogue are her mantra songs, but not necessarily game changers in her career; in the end, both are just hits. Erotica - Justify My Love came first, but it was just a new song in an old hits compilation, there was no truly statement behind it and lyrically and visually it is very "look at me". On the other hand, Erotica (and all its side projects) was a very risk taker venture that did damage to her career. She recovered, but it's her equivalent to Pandora's Box. I'll Remember - It's important as it kept her "alive" right after the backlash. Had it failed with the public and industry, and things could had been over. Secret and Take A Bow just enjoyed the ride. Human Nature - Probably a controversial entry since this wasn't a hit back in the day, but such fact only adds to its importance as the underdog single that resumes Madonna's relationship with the media and society and is one that every now and then she brings up in setlists. At the time, Human Nature was more than necessary to close the Dita' chapter. Don't Cry For Me Argentina - For the metamorphosis that it brought, more in the public/media perception than in Madonna herself. Ray Of Light - It embraces the earth mother vibe better than Frozen. It was her first dance hit since Deeper And Deeper, so it was very welcomed. The look, the eletronic, the coolness of it all worked perfectly and gave her a new life (that helped Music's sucess). American Life - Pandora's Box Part II. From this single on, there would be more downs than ups in her career. She never really recovered from its harm. Hung Up - Important in the sense that, despite pop stars limited shelf life (and after falling from an horse), she could still have a global hit in her late 40's (4 Minutes and Give Me All Your Luvin' were sucessfull but mostly thanks to featurings and payola). The video have her last recognizable look and kinda marks the end of MTV as we known. Bitch I'm Madonna may be a hit online, but I believe that's because its video's cameos; the song's popularity is all smoke and mirrors.
  4. In your opinion, what are the most important singles to Madonna's career (the crucial ones for her sucess and survival in the music industry/public eye)?
  5. https://www.inquisitr.com/opinion/4757866/madonna-instagram-photo-ageism-sexism/
  6. It's just a bad picture. With a bad bag. Nothing more, nothing less. Oh the other hand, from that post' hastags (#nofriends, #lisbonisfar) you can see that she's experimenting a very Portuguese feeling: Saudade.
  7. Poor Bedtime Stories. Its tour does not even happen when a fan is sleeping and dreaming about impossible tours... #JusticeForUnconsciousWorldTour
  8. That's such an existential question that I even had an existential crisis just to decide the vote (and ended up throwing a vote at I'm Breathless just to make its undeserved last place less shameful).
  9. I love You Must Love Me.Single-wise it lives in the shadow of Don't Cry For Me Argentina, but its performance was the highlight of Sticky & Sweet Tour for sure. Can't wait to hear Lana's version.
  10. But that's like sabotage her career... Guy Oseary, is that you?
  11. Delete all videos and then start counting from zero? Or delete all videos after merged all channels's views numbers ?
  12. In my opinion, Madonna should perform in Eurovision, but only if to promote her new single and only, again, if its release is ready to be launch. There's no point in going there to sing an old classic (her catalogue for sure will rise on European charts after she sings a new song) and ain't no point in performing new material if the public can't buy the single as soon as she hit the stage (and not days or weeks after when the momentum is over).
  13. Dear Madonna, do you remember I Can't Forget or did you forget I'll Remember?
  14. Take A Bow. So poetic and pretty. Ghosttown got old too fast, in my opinion. I barely play it nowadays.
  15. Other than the unnamed one big hit (Go West?), you know one more for sure: West End Girls (aka M's Jump lol )
  16. I would love that too. And that was the rumour about American Life's sound back in the day. Headcleanr rock mixes of the title track and Love Profusion were the closer that we got.
  17. About presentations, I think that you all just covered up the usual suspects. But, when it comes down to tours, there's a small moment in Re-Invention Tour that always gives me chills when I watch/listen to it, even if the vocals are on purpose like that. It's when in the end of American Life she screams: "Do I have to changeeEeEEE?!" Here lol:
  18. I like them all, to be honest. Some had more events than others, but in the end of the day they all have their thing. But I'll pick Bedtime Stories era as my fav. Any timeline after a backlash and before a comeback is quite an interesting era for me. And Madonna pulled it beautifully. The album, the melodies, the lyrics, the videos, her looks, her romantic and soft yet not taking bullshit attitude. And the fact that there's so little information about it all if compared to other eras, just give it a mysticism.
  19. I meant the show edit, with shoots longer than 1 second and no filters. But now that you say it, special editions of lasserdisc and vhs would be great lol .
  20. Been there, done that: Ray Of Light Confessions Tour = Ray Of Light Sticky & Sweet Tour ... One full tour made up of just past performances sounds very Vegas (aka tacky) to me. Some years ago I would say that Madonna would never do that, but after Hard Candy gyms and MDNA skicare I'm not that sure anymore lol . But I would be ok if M went on a small tour (something like 10 dates) to celebrate the anniversay of The Virgin Tour or Who's That Girl Tour (her most innocent shows), with the same setlist, outfits (just a little bit updated lol), choreography and even some dates could be like the original schedule. Oh, and of course that such new tour DVD would be edited like the 80's ones and not like her most recent stuff lol .
  21. I know, but this is only about the official titles lol Could you imagine The Whore Of Babylon as the title of what Re-Invention ended up being as a tour? It wouldn't fit at all lol
