In this case, it certainly seems to.
  2. Like a Virgin on cassette. I was 7 or 8 and we were going on a road trip, so my mom let me get 3 cassettes. (The other 2, for historical purposes, were the Ghostbusters soundtrack, and Billy Joel's Greatest Hits). For some reason at the time I hadn't started collecting vinyl, but had maxi singles on cassette for Vogue, Hanky Panky, Justify My Love, and Rescue Me, and since there wasn't a cassette version of it, it was the Keep It Together maxi that made me buy my first CD, before I even had a CD player of my own. BTW, I still have that LAV cassette.

I really have to agree. It's boring and generic. All the brilliant singles that she's had, and THIS is the longest running #1? Great video, though.

Erotica all the way. My favorite M song of all time, along with some of my favorite remixes.

Well said. I think she's gorgeous and I would never think to criticize her body, which btw is fucking amazing, but I have always been a fan of the way she adopts different personas for different eras, many of which are signified by her choice of hairstyle/color. So even if it's just for the cover photo, I would like to see her do something different with the 'do. It's been awhile.

That's funny. It was literally the one song I couldn't stand. Lyrics are cheese and beneath her, and I just want Pharrell to stay miles away from her forever. Just my opinion.

OK, tacky for dude to post that, but his art is really cool. I think he could make for a really incredible album cover/shoot. Not that any of them are bad, but she hasn't had a truly GREAT album cover since American Life, and I think he could bring some eye-snatchin' bullshit up on this next album cover. And @Andymad, you're awesome!

I agree with you there. That photo is in my top 3 of all time. Her hair looks incredible and her eyes are just perfect. I would have loved the single cover as the picture disc. To be honest, it seems like several of them could have used more interesting or better photos (Express Yourself, Cherish, and Vogue ALL used photos from the EY video, and it's hard to believe that the photo used for the Angel shaped disc was the best they could come up with). That said, I love every one of them, idiosyncrasies and all.

I have to agree with you, mlvc. I do seem to remember seeing this addressed at some point, but I'm at work right now and don't have access to the collection to see what article may have mentioned it. Either way, it seems evident that the upside-down cover would be the correct version. I know that the adverts, etc. from the time show the cover "right" side up, but if that was the way it was intended to be, why in the world would it get messed up for the second edition and beyond? It's not like the entire cover was flipped upside-down, whoever did it obviously had to change the lettering around to fit with the upside-down image. And at this point, it's been pressed and re-pressed. If it was a mistake, I'm sure someone in her team would have fixed it at this point 20+ years later.

This x 20,000,000!!!!!!! Oh, this would be so incredible...

Great topic!! Picture discs have always been one of the main focuses of my collection. My favorite is the heart-shaped "Into the Groove" picture disc, but I also love the star-shaped PD for "Dress You Up", the "Crazy for You '91" shaped disc, the "Fever" 7", and the 12" PDs of "Causing a Commotion" and "Deeper & Deeper". They're all pretty great, actually, though I'm not a huge fan of the picture used on the "La Isla Bonita" picture disc/single. Just never found that shot very flattering, I guess. I always love hearing about other people's favorites and why, whether it's picture discs, photo shoots, remixes, whatever. For me, this is a huge part of the fun of being both a Madonna fan and a member of this community!

All of the singles from the Erotica and Ray of Light albums are worth checking out, plus the singles for Justify My Love, Like A Prayer, Open Your Heart, and Rescue Me. And the promo mixes of Love Don't Live Here Anymore are incredible too.

It's not one of my favorites of hers, but I dont dislike it either. It's cute and fun and isn't trying to be anything other than a perky dance song, and it succeeds at that. I prefer it to most of Hard Candy or a song like Turn Up The Radio.

I love this song! I think it's better than a number of songs that actually made the album (Don't Stop, Forbidden Love, and *gasp!* Take A Bow).

Lol, I was waiting for someone to call me out @@Robocup! Everyone has to choose just one,but it's really hard, there are so many amazing covers! If I could only have one, it would be Cherish (hence my avatar) 😀
