  1. Who is this kid and has anyone heard his remix? Is this the future of superstardom? http://bentleyjones.com/music/phunkstar/ but no link to the audio LOL http://www.coventrytelegraph.net/news/local-news/superstar-remixer-who-worked-madonna-9820217 Superstar remixer who has worked with Madonna and will.i.am works from his mum's garage! [*]12:18, 9 AUGUST 2015 [*] BY ROZ LAWS Bentley Jones has built up a global business and is preparing to release his own album Musician Bentley Jones working in his studio in his mum's house in Solihull You won’t have heard of him, but Bentley Jones is a huge music star – who works from his mum’s garage in Solihull. He has worked with the likes of Madonna, will.i.am, Sia and Ariana Grande. Lady Gaga follows him on Twitter and he is treated like a rock star in Japan. He’s a different kind of musician, one who remixes hits and puts his own stamp on them from his studio. Now 30, he’s been doing that since he dropped out of college at 17. He has since built up a global business. Having released his own music in Japan and America, Bentley is now stepping in to the spotlight in his own country. He’s releasing his first album, called The Prequel, and is planning a UK tour. Madonna Bentley explains: “I started experimenting with music when I was a teenager, just playing around in my bedroom with keyboards and synthesisers. I taught myself from scratch to do geeky stuff like editing wave forms. “They tried to get me to take music GCSE at Light Hall School but that wasn’t for me. “I’m doing the same things now but on a professional scale, although I still feel like that teenager making sounds in my room. I try not to think too much about Madonna and Lady Gaga listening to my music. “I was remixing music and sending them out to people, until a promotional company in London called back and offered me a contract to produce remixes for them. “I was just 17. I dropped out of the media course I was studying at Stratford-upon-Avon College but I didn’t have to move to London, I could just carry on at home. “My grandfather died when I was 19 and I used his inheritance to convert the garage at my mum’s house and turn it into a studio. Now I work all over the place but I still come back. Musician Bentley Jones working in his studio in his mum's house in Solihull “I do play some instruments, but not well – to the point where I can get the sound I want from them. “I will start off playing on the keyboard and find a chord I like, then add a beat and a melody. I like to think of a piece as a lump of clay which I will keep moulding and building on.†Most of Bentley’s work involves remixing the hits of stars like Madonna, Sia and Lady Gaga – he’s remixed Living For Love, Chandelier and Judas. “I am asked to remix hit singles to promote the artists, usually in nightclubs,†says Bentley. “My tracks will be sent out to radio and club DJs. “I will listen to see what I can take from it, and anything that jumps out at me I use as a starting point for turning the song into what I want. “I can be speeding it up and changing the beat or adding a hook. It’s not a case of improving on the original, just taking it to a different place. "Fans aren’t too happy if you change too much of a song they love. My remixes are not necessarily commercially released but they can be if there’s a demand from the clubs. “I don’t usually get to meet the artists, although I have hung out in Tokyo with Pharrell Williams. He’s very short, a good foot and a half of him is those hats he wears! “One of my Twitter followers mentioned Lady Gaga was following me – I hadn’t even noticed, but that is cool. “It does feel slightly weird to promote my music in the UK. I feel like I’m in a bubble when I’m somewhere like Japan, where they treat me like a rock star. I don’t get too overwhelmed because it seems so unreal and far away. "But now I’m doing it here on my doorstep, which is exciting but a little bit strange.â€

How about the 581-page, 4-pound Madonna bible Encyclopedia Madonnica? The massive tome was written by Madonna expert Matthew Rettenmund and covers everything in Madonna’s world from A (the first entry is Abdul, Paula) through Z (zits -- yes, really). Initially published in 1995, the unauthorized book has been thoroughly revised and updated to include even the most recent events in Madonna’s life (like her current Rebel Heart Tour). It’s also full of memorabilia and color photos that Rettenmund has been collecting for decades. The book is available via Barnes & Noble for $65 or via Rettenmund’s website for $60. The encyclopedia was inspired by a similar book about Marilyn Monroe called The Unabridged Marilyn: Her Life From A to Z, released in 1988. Rettenmund thought, “You know, Madonna is deserving of that same kind of treatment. That everything-including-the-kitchen-sink treatment that you can't really get in biographies. In straight biographies, there's so much stuff that's left out.†He says “part of it was done seriously as an act of devotion … by a fan, for fans. And part of it also is kind of tongue-in-cheek, because just the fact that it exists is kind of ridiculous. Like, a Madonna encyclopedia?†The new book was funded via a Kickstarter campaign that generated more than $30,000. The project also includes numerous interviews with a range of people who have been in Madonna’s orbit, including Desperately Seeking Susan publicist Reid Rosefelt, journalist John Norris and Madonna’s former stylist Maripol. (Full disclosure: The writer of this story contributed to the Kickstarter campaign and is also interviewed in the book.) While Rettenmund has not heard directly from Madonna’s camp about her thoughts on the book, her representatives have been friendly with him since the first edition was published. (So much so, her publicity team was able to get Madonna to sign the cover of the first edition for Rettenmund. He jokes that he’s “not expecting any lawsuits.â€) “She strikes me as a person who would be very skeptical of any book written about her,†Rettenmund says when asked what Madonna would say if she flipped through the new edition’s pages. “If she gave it a chance and really looked through it, I think she would see the affection seeping from every page.â€

August 24 2015 at 12:04pm By Bang Showbiz Comment on this story Jordan Strauss/Invision/APMadonna arrives at the 57th annual Grammy Awards in Los Angeles on February 8, 2015.Madonna is in talks to make a reality TV show. The 57-year-old star has been offered her own programme by production company Bunim Murray, who make 'Keeping Up with the Kardashians', and is keen to sign on after seeing how her pals Kim Kardashian West and Kanye West have made reality TV "cool". An insider revealed: "Nobody would ever have expected a star as huge as Madonna to ever star in a reality show but it just shows how much times are changing that she's even humouring talks. "She is friends with Kim Kardashian through Kanye West and Madonna has noticed how Kim and her family have made reality TV very cool and current - it's not just for Z-listers any more." The 'Living For Love' singer - who released her 13th studio album 'Rebel Heart' in March - would be expected to involve her kids Lourdes, 18, Rocco, 15, and David and Mercy, both nine, in the show, as well as her potential love interests. The source told The Sun newspaper: "She's not made any decision, she loves giving fans an insight into her life, especially when touring. "Bunim Murray have proven with Caitlyn Jenner's show I Am Cait that they can tackle sensitive topics and not just make trash TV." However, Madonna - who will embark on her 'Rebel Heart' world tour next month - previously said she doesn't actually watch TV. She said: "I don't watch television. Everyone's a bit contest obsessed. I don't actually like the idea of being a judge. It's so, I don't know, subjective - what's good and what isn't. "I think perhaps we're too obsessed with it.
  4. has anyone heard this? i stumbled upon it today - an impressive house dub of phrases like "what the fuck is madonna doing" "what do you think you're doing" "fuck you guys" "fuck your support". its hella entertaining, like an update of up down suite or goodbye to innocence. somehow associated with confessions tour era it seems.
