You wanna know how much I ❤ this album? Look where Thief Of Hearts is and I absolutely adore that song with all my heart.

Every song and addition is a gem in it's own way. I love the whole album. It's melancholy, sad, hopeful, introspective, self examining, sensual, sexual, gratuitous, panicky, bitter, resentful, contemplative, longing, lustfully romantic, brutally real, sometimes angry and even funny. The only thing I don't sense in this album is joy.

This album though wouldn't be the masterpiece it is if it provided a lighthearted relief. The closest relief in this album is Rain but there is still a slight edge and sadness to Rain. Erotica is a very special album to me. ❤

I know I'm in the minority here but this album is truly among her very worst and blatantly overrated by her fans. It has aged like milk and sounds incredibly dated now. Aside from that, I hate the fact that she didn't bother to sing on a good third of the album.

In This Life is probably one of my least fav Madonna songs ever.  I appreciate the subject & whatnot, just ALWAYS skip it.  DYDI is fun but def a skipper.

An essential album but it works best played from beginning to end, some of the tracks don’t work that well individually for me.

My favorites of this album.

1. Rain (Very good ballad and i like tender of the song)

2. Deeper and Deeper (A another good song, the stylised disco/latino was beautiful and her best song of her album)

3. Where Life Begin (It's very better in instrumental, without the Madonna voice, il like the Hip-Hop/jazzy influence on the song))

4. Why's it so hard (not bad, i like the lyrics, but hate the groove of the song)

5. In this Life (very good and touching lyrics, but not the best choice of the music)

The rest of the album, i hate.

I do think the album is highly over rated by fans, but it also was her real first foray in to some complex and deep/meaningful lyrics (aside a few from LAP).  I think it suffered horribly due to how controversial the era was and people were becoming a bit tired of her being overtly sexual. That said, I still enjoy the album. It's not my favorite, but it includes some great songs nevertheless.
