1 Madonna, "Ghosttown"
Even in a great year for pop music, Madonna is still the queen. The power ballad off her March album Rebel Heart was a more classic pop turn for the singer after the house hit "Living for Love" and trap digression of "Bitch I'm Madonna." On the massive, romantic track, the singer tackles both world issues and a reflection of self. Even though the single didn't crack the Billboard Hot 100, it still topped the dance charts and showcased one of the singer's strongest vocal performances.

The lyrics from Madonna's "Ghosttown" were named by PopCrush as one of the best lyrics of 2015!

Madonna, "Ghosttown"

Even with no light / We're gonna shine like gold / In this mad, mad / In this mad, mad world...

Is "shine like gold" a bit of a cliche? Yep, sure is! But that doesn't really matter, because the sentiment feels genuine: Madge's post-apocalyptic, us-against-the-end-of-the-world anthem is all about overcoming adversity. And, to be honest, the world really did get scarier (and madder) this year, but you can always count on Madonna for a little inspirational uplifting...even in our darkest hours. --Bradley Stern

This song is a masterpiece   But it's completely underrated.

The lyrics, the video, the message, everything about this song is amazing. Definitely in my Top 20 favorite M songs.

The video is that kind of videos which can be watched without sound, but you'll still understand the meaning of the song

Btw, she looks FLAWLESS in the video...  :Madonna036:

I always felt like this album should have been presented in an entirely different way. "Living For Love" would have been a lovely piano ballad, whereas "Ghosttown" would have been great as a dance song. And the third single could have been the original mix of "Rebel Heart" which was far superior to the one that ended up on the album.

So many nice things to say about this song... When the video was released, I was in another city, visiting friends. I met someone on Tinder and fell for him. We had such a good time with friends. I loved the album itself so much, after the disaster of "MDNA" and I felt like I made a comeback to my fandom. The video was amazing, everyone was so happy. So many good memories...

One thing that has always confused me since I watched the video for the first time is why she is always referring to the same cities, namely New York, Los Angeles, Paris, and London. She did that on 'I Love New York' and also to the countries of these cities in 'Candy Shop' with the addition of Japan, though it was Pharrell's rap. I mean, there are some other cities in the world, too!  :cute:
