  1. im 23 and ive been a madonna fan since 2010? lmao i was 14 and i still remember of how in love i was with her at the sticky & sweet tour dvd, the front cover of my notebook at school was a picture of her giving the middle finger during s&s round two lmao i dont know about you guys but im satisfied with the tour. OF COURSE I WOULD GIVE ANYTHING to see her performing songs like nothing really matters or even rescue me live, but come onnn!!! she literally added rescue me after the dude from billboard asked her to! even if its just an interlude, this is a very unique moment for all of us madonna fans. and we're only three shows into the tour. the tour has more than 80 shows to go, SO MUCH can happen! she performed so many gems during rebel heart tour, and she rehearsed to many songs during the rehearsals for madame x tour... of course that doesnt prove anything (helloooooooooo hold on tight, how are ya doin!) but this is a whole other level concert that we're talking about. madonna is all about reinvention, and i can feel that madame x still has a lot to show. madonna herself said that the show wasnt complete lmao what we need to do is trust her and her vision more. from what we have seen (videos, pics and even the full audio of the opening night) this show is just UGH legendary. seriously. lets just wait and enjoy the ride, it could have been waaay more worse if she didnt tour at all lmao.

  2. Please, for the sake of all, let's try to get everyone back in a more peaceful atmosphere. I have to admit I'm absolutely not without sin, and I'm one of those who is not always 100% with Madonna for her artistic choices, but let's remember that sometimes, expressing our opinions in a very fervent way, we can be very harmful for the air that we all breath on this forum, for its life, and for all of us who would never want it closed again. One of the reasons why Fighter decided to close the forum in June was the toxic climate that had arisen among users. During the months in which MadonnaInfinity was closed, we all hoped that MadonnaInfinity would come back to life, but when we lost all hopes Fighter surprised us and welcomed us back to HIS home. But it's HIS home, we have not to forget this, and we have to respect what he asked us and remember that we are here without paying a price. We can express a critical opinion, but without fury. I don't say this because I've never sinned, but it's exactly the opposte. We have to learn from mistakes, and try to make this forum a better place. As far as I'm concerned, I have to apologize with everybody who felt offended for the few times in which, before the forum was closed, I expressed my opinion in an ironic way that was nice only for me... but was not and made me look very unpleasant.

  3. That’s not really the point though is it? She just seems to have this attitude of “your lives WILL revolve around my schedule and fuck you if you don’t like it.” What about staff that work at the theatre that have to stay late because she can’t be arsed going on stage on time? She seems to be looking at everyone around her as “little people” and frankly, it only adds to the air of elitism this tour seems to embrace. $1000 for a selfie.... fuck that

  4. So much positive energy around here I think people really need to do some yoga today, I don't know, maybe play Has To Be in the background and you will feel so much better. Promise xx What about this? It's genius and it's saved my life countless of times! On a serious note, guys, haven't you made very clear you totally disliked the show? It's not like we don't know how to read English . Why stuck in the same dark place over and over? Move on! If you're not going to the show ALRIGHT! There're other priorities I guess aaaaand yes, the tour is expensive. Want to continue supporting Madonna? OK! Stick to the oldies and enjoy them as they are. I agree most of us all want Madonna to do/to be whatever is happening in our minds because we've been idolizing her and supporting her for so long and it's awful when we feel she *kinda* fails. However, I strongly believe that when it comes to the point it is really affecting you... just go away for a couple of days, or maybe longer and you'll eventually see that it was silly to get upset about things that are beyond our control. After all, we're just a bunch of people on the internet fighting each other about someone we don't even *know* in real life

  7. "Ass-licking" means that you like everything a certain person does regardless of it being good or not. It's an expression, not an insult. Aside from that, I have not insulted anyone personally or directly. I will calm down a bit but I am not going to let you claim I insulted anyone when that is simply the case. All I'm asking you is to stop taking criticism towards Madonna so personally. Nit everyone has to like everything she does and she has quite frankly been disappointing me ever since the Rebel Heart Tour and it has become very hard for me to look forward to things she has planned. I invest a lot of time and money into collecting her. It's very disappointing to see her ignore her fans and be this self-serving and arrogant especially towards her catalogue. Do you catch my drift?

  8. That statement assumes that there are young Madonna fans. There aren't... Unless you assume that 30's are the "young" ones and the 50-60's are the older ones. But, regardless, there ain't any young Madonna fans...and there certainly aren't any new ones. Constantly disrespecting Madonna? Last I checked, she's not a member of this forum. This whole "worshiping at the alter of Madonna" is (with all due respect) repulsive, quite frankly.

  9. I initially got the impression that it was a lazy tour. She wanted to do something intimate, highlighting the sound and voice, but through the leaked videos she simply sings over a pre-recorded base, identifies the version she contains on the album most of the time. It is not a visual tour, it is not a vocal and instrumental tour, it is not an exactly beautiful or technological tour, the only differentiation from the other tours is that it is that you get close to her, but it lacks entertainment content. Of course my opinion is kind of ignorant since I didn't go to the concert, but it's the opinion of a person who visually consumes the tours that she performs.

  10. It's her art, it's her decision. She creates a show based on what she wants to express on that particular time. If you dont like it, you have the choice of not attending.

  12. Omg can you stop? You're the admin of a god damn Madonna forum!!! Stop being so sensitive towards people criticizing the show. People have a right to be disappointed and express that opinion. This ain't Nazi Germany. You gotta be able to handle it.

  14. wow it really does seem her fans this era are her worst critics lol ... why couldn't she play the piano ..she has one at home for mercy ... why look for musical flaws and vocal flaws the negatives why not concentrate on the positives that is she is still alive and on stage performing unlike most of her peers ... jesus christ give her a break ...but yes the lateness sucks ..

  16. It's really difficult to express an opinion after the last 3-4 pages. SETLIST: Although I feel a few oldies are missing in the setlist, especially in act 2, it's not us who can choose the songs. Also because what I want to hear is not what another fan wants to hear. I'd love to hear I'll remember or Gambler, for instance. I think we were all disappointed by the cutting of Rescue me. I also understand the show is not just for fans and the general audience wants to hear the big hits, as LAP and Vogue. If I went to a Spice girls concert I would like to hear Wannabe, or Wake me up if it was Green Day. SHOW: I don't totally understand those who say "you need to see it" because we've been saying it's all about the music, so it's not an option to ask for more attention to the musical quality. From our recording I heard very cheap and lazy renditions. I don't know if M herself or Kevin Outoftune is to blame, but this time I expected to hear a different live sound, à la Girlie Show, and I agree with @Bitch I’m Madonnathat she has posted material from rehearsals that gave us the wrong impression (but remember Hold Tight?). I don't buy Madonna playing the piano during Future, when she can have Rickey Pageot performing miracles with it, if they only let him. Then of course when I see it I will be mesmerized and enchanted by her stage presence, as always, but this won't prevent me from noticing the evident musical and vocal flaws. PHONES/TIME : I hate smartphones. Of course I need full coverage of the tour, but I hate people filming all the time. But once again she is so contradictory, cause she's always on the phone. It's an artistic choice but also a monetary choice. Madonna don't preach! But it'll be interesting for the new generation to experience a tour without knowing. Also, the phone is needed to kill time while waiting. The late start has no excuses. No jokes about it please! So selfish and unprofessional. People work in the morning. If she goes to sleep at 4 am, we don't. Next time she can do a midnight performance in a smaller club for 10000$

  17. “With her Madame X Tour, Madonna has redefined modern pop concerts as we know them and puts young superstars in the shade with her daring routines and incredible vocal range. SHE’S never been one to play by the rules. And, in her Madame X theatre tour, Madonna took the book, tore it up and spat it out. Her voice was impressive and on key throughout — shooting down any doubts which surfaced at Eurovision where she was let down by a technical failure. She danced, writhed and did a headstand in the two-hour, 15-minute performance and barely looked out of breath. If anyone doubted whether Madonna still had it, I can safely say that she most definitely does. In spades.” - The Irish Sun

  19. I wasn't impressed. I'm pretty sure I shouldn't have waited in line outside like I did, being a VIP ticket holder, but there was nobody saying anything different. So by the time I got in I got one complimentary glass of wine and then was told the bar was switching to a paid bar. 10 minutes go by with my phone locked up and I realize people are walking around taking pictures. I asked the girl and she was like... oh yeah I can unlock it for u. uh yeah!!! Why the fuck would I keep my phone in there. They should have offered as soon as I walked in the VIP area. Then they had the audacity to take the cookies away!!! The cookies were quite good. I didn't have an appetite for vegetables with ranch dressing so I didn't try them. There was no "designated" merch table for VIP, it was the same merch table for everyone else. This is probably because of lack of space at theaters that Live Nation didn't take into account when they wrote the VIP experience. It was cool to have my phone available in the 2 hours we waited for the show to start. We also got a "heads up" before M took the stage that other people probably didn't get. Was it worth the extra $700 for the VIP experience... definitely not. Unless the upcoming gift is super amazing I wouldn't do it again. It was opening night, so maybe it was a bit haphazard... but it seemed very unprofessional. They started removing MX decorations before we left the lounge. There really wasn't a need to remove the cookies at all. If VIP members can skip the line outside they need to post this clearly and have people walking around yelling it. Because if you are halfway down the block in line how would you ever know? Also, like you can hear in the audio recording the selection of drinks was... extremely limited. They had 2 different beers. A white wine, a red wine Whiskey and Gin.... No bourbon, no vodka, no tequila... it was oddly limited. Just a side note: the VIP tags were just draping there... I could have swiped like 20 of them. I know they're not worth that much, but they are exclusive so it seemed odd they were just hanging around with no one really watching them.

  20. Do you have a Medellin ticket @Joseebus? Please share your experience if you do! @RUADJAIhad a VIP ticket I think. There's also plenty of discussions in every forum about the bad food treatment with carrots and cookies. Prison food. The only info about backstage comes from M Underground but doesn't seem memorable: https://madonnaunderground.com/madame-x-tour-backstage-tour-report-bam-opening-night-ny/ The Medellin VIP package included a backstage tour at the BAM in New York as well. Here are a few details of the backstage tour on opening night. People were taken on a tour around and on the stage while security came along for the trip. Everyone was informed on Madonna’s routine, rehearsals and the process of creating the show. Madonna makes long hours and there were over a hundred run-through’s of the entire show before the audience got to finally see it. Madonna pays attention to every little detail, for example if she is dissatisfied with a zipper on a specific costume it has to be replaced at once. Madonna doesn’t arrive at the theater before 4 or 5pm and sometimes carries on working until 6am the following morning. On this occassion there were no dancers around to meet, but some of the musicians were present. All of the instruments were stored there as the entire show is 100% live music. They were also shown the little booth where Madonna changes costumes during the show. Also a sneak peek behind a curtain at the costumes, shoes and various props. The fans present were also treated to the setlist already as it was displayed backstage. Thank you to Wendy Gardien for the report!

  26. Does 21 count as young? And does becoming a major fan in 2017 count as new? With all due respect, you should try expanding your knowledge a bit. I've met many newer and younger Madonna fans who are just as hardcore as the older ones. and quite frankly, there's no reason to disrespect anyone, on this site or not, unless they personally deserve it.

Madonna was studying modern dance at the current age of Lola. The two in some moments are like a mirror of each other."

  34. I don't think Madonna needs to prove any points. You all need to calm down. I went opening night. My buddy was in line at 8.00pm saying 'they'll close the doors'. I laughed. Had a great dinner with friends, arrived at 10pm and the show started at 10:45pm. What's the big deal? Oh, poor theatre staff! (they'll be ok, i can guarantee you).

  36. I apologize, because I don't fully understand your grammar / English but I respect your opinion. Personally, I think it's a fantastic show. I was disappointed when I saw the setlist online but when I actually saw the show, I understood what she was going for, and the theatrical arc she presented. FROZEN, LAP are amazing. Best Ever. Future she plays the piano - and why shouldn't she? It allows her to focus on the vocals too. People who complain about the 'late' start look silly, in my opinion. It's one night of the year. Have you never been to a club extra late? Can you survive on 4 hours of sleep one night a year? I had to fly on a plane at 8am the next day for work, and I had no issues with her start time. For those who can't handle it, have an afternoon nap before the show and turn up at 9.30pm, and then perhaps you'll be ok? #precious

  42. In my opinion it's the worst set list ever. I will not discuss production, costumes, stage, choreography etc. because I didn't attend the show but the setlist is huge disappointment. After all IG teasing with oldies, I was so happy to hear Rescue me and Easy ride, at least, on the tour but we got: - Human nature??? REALLY!?!???? AGAIN!!!!??? - part of EY acapella - part of Papa don't preach - Vogue same as by pride - American Life same as by pride - LAP same as by ESC ??? - part of La Isla Bonita - cover songs, with such big catalogue?‍♂️?‍♂️?‍♂️ - and the only surprise among old songs is Frozen I don't want to sound negative and I know this tour supports MADAMEX album but, it was always like 50% new material and 50% old songs. We got few songs that she already played and played... there r no surprises, except Frozen... setlist looks so lazy, unfinished, uninspiring and simply boring... no invention, no improvement... I don't get the point of rehearsal posting on IG and almost nothing ends to the final setlist, so the disappointing is even bigger, at least in my case... I paid 400€ for the ticket, plus flight and hotel, I expected more than this to be honest...

  45. Last night I was offered 2 floor tickets in row D center, right at the edge of the left corridor. So I managed to get a very up close view of the show, that I’d like to share with you. Please understand that some of these are my personal opinions and experience and please respect that. There were some truly amazing moments in the show but also some really bad ones. The audience interaction was much better than TOAC but still a bit forced and unnecessary. Could have been cut down quite a bit. I wish she used a live band rather than pre recorded tracks. Also most of the projections were extremely lazy and tacky. I would have liked it better if she kept them to a minimum or actually come up with more original ideas (like the Frozen video). The show started close to 11 and everyone was a bit tired and annoyed by that time. If it wasn’t for this extreme delay probably everyone, including me, would have enjoyed this experience so much more. The no phone policy makes complete sense. The venue is very small and intimate and phones would be so much more distracting than at her previous tours. The merch wasn’t that great in my opinion. The only thing I liked was this shiny bomber jacket with the logo and the Madame X manifesto embroidered on the back. Also it looks fashionable and expensive. I was very disappointed because the tour book was still not available. First act was the weakest in my opinion. The opening is a bit too long and repetitive and unmemorable. Madonna finally comes out in a horrendous George Washington inspired costume. She performs God Control similar as Pride, with visuals from the video projected behind her. Next is Dark Ballet, similar to Eurovision with projections from the music video. At this point she strips part of the GW costume and wears a loose piece of white cloth strapped at the waist by a corset, military boots and the eyepatch. At the end of DB she’s awkwardly captured by 2 policemen and thrown into jail, which is a circular opening in one of the set pieces. She performs Human Nature while doing a coreo that could be really cool but she seems to struggle with it. Also I felt the costume made no sense and was in the way. Towards the end of the song this guy comes on stage with conga drums and Madonna joins him to play them together, which is a very cool moment. Then she starts talking to the audience, plays the EY snippet acapella and the twins and Mercy join her on stage for a bit. Then she goes behind a little screen and continues talking while we see she’s changing for the next number. The Madame X manifesto is projected on the little screen and Vogue starts. It’s the same version from Pride but I think it’s not as effective because Madonna is not hidden between the other dancers in the beginning. Also she doesn’t Vogue at all and barely dances. She mostly moves around the stage and that’s all. The projections are of the Steven Klein trench coat images and typewriters. Then she goes into I Don’t Search I Find. To me this was one of the highlights of the show. It has a French film noir tone with 2 spies capturing Madame X. As all these cool black and white projections are everywhere. After this it’s all a bit messy. She sings a snippet of a reworked version of Papa Don’t Preach and talks about women’s rights and tries to sell the Polaroid selfie. This poor guy offered something like $160 for it. You can tell he’s a hardcore fan cause he had this whole American life inspired outfit on and front row tickets. But she’s very rude to him and dismissed his offer. Eventually she sells the photo to a girl who offered $1000. The whole moment was kind of bad and off putting. Then she goes into American Life. Great performance on her end and the rap part was very intense and well done. Similar to the album version. It was hard to pay attention though because during this song there was a lot of commotion around me. A lot of people got up and left the concert at this point lol. I hated the staging. There was an American flag and 2 guys dancing in uniforms also a mattress on which military uniforms were being dropped from the ceiling. Maybe I missed something but it didn’t make a lot of sense. The projections were from the uncensored music video. At the end of the song these guys in marine outfits carry a coffin covered with the American flag across the stage. And the 2 of them perform a dance similar to the Beast Within in the Girlie Show. The projections are of old ships and maps, from the 1700s. Visually this was not great or original but the song was beautiful. The interlude ends with the thunders from Batuka and the Batukadeiras invade the stage coming from behind the audience on the corridors. They go and sit in a circle on the stage, and there’s a carpet on the floor, just like in the second half of the music video. The projections are again from the music video. Madonna comes out looking absolutely stunning. With the brown wig and the gorgeous purple sparkling dress. Also she wears these amazing silver high heel sandals. The performance is absolutely stunning. These women are such an inspiration and they radiate pure joy. At the end, this Asian lady comes out with a cello and closes out the song as Madonna and the Batukadeiras hold hands in a circle. A truly amazing moment. Then she has the “soccer mom/moving to Lisbon” speech. It would have been great if we didn’t hear it 100 times by now haha. Then she introduces this young talented musician and they perform a snippet of a fado song. I thought she sounded a bit off and her voice was a bit too aggressive for that specific. Then the whole stage turns into a whimsical Lisbon street, similar to the billboard performance but more extravagant. She performs Killers and Crazy. Both were good but she should have shortened it somehow. I can’t say why but by the time Crazy was over I was a bit bored. Welcome To My Fado and the snippet of La Isla Bonita were very cute and after she went into this amazing rendition of Sodade. She should release this cover since it’s incredible. Then a typewriter is brought on stage for no reason and she sits down and writes the video intro to Medellín, as the words are projected over the entire stage. Made absolutely no sense and was very boring. Then the song starts and towards the end her and the dancers descend into the crowd. It’s a magical moment since I’m right by the corridor where they come. I dance a bit with one of the dancers and Madonna walks right by me. It was incredible to see her so close! She was very tiny, beautiful and happy. Some people tried to touch her but I thought that would be very disrespectful. Since she didn’t engage I didn’t want to be intrusive. Then she went on the other corridor and randomly started to chat with someone from the audience as she sat in his chair. Next she did this incredible performance of Extreme Occident. No projections. Just her moving around on these set pieces and a guy playing the accordion. Very intimate and theatrical. The next interlude was my favorite. There were 6-8 dancers all wearing white shirts and black pants dancing on rhythmic breathing sounds. At one point the spoken lyrics from Rescue Me are played over the breathing. It’s very eerie and conceptual. It would have been great if this went into an actual Rescue Me performance. But it awkwardly transitions into Frozen and it seems like a second interlude. But it’s not. Madonna appears with the nude scarf from the album cover and a similar black dress. But she’s behind the projection screen and looks like she’s floating. The video of Lourdes is simply amazing and the way it’s superimposed with Madonna singing creates a truly artistic moment. Also it’s very moving. Probably my favorite part of the show. After that the whole stage lights up and there’s all these colorful projections of Moroccan art and everyone is wearing North African inspired costumes. Come Alive starts and Madonna shows up wearing the same head scarf and a Versace robe. The whole thing seemed messy and I wasn’t into it. Then a piano is brought on stage and she starts Future. Another terrible moment. This slower version makes no sense at all. Wish she either did the album version or an actual piano ballad. There were projections of the Amazon burning and a post apocalyptic world. Also there were 2 awkward dancers wearing these cheap looking gas masks with flowers (similar to Dark Ballet but much worse). Next is the dance remix of Crave. This doesn’t really work at all but somehow she makes it work and fun. She comes out wearing the same Versace robe but with a matching military hat. The ensemble looks great. The projections are a mix of the music video and NYC streets. The dancers wear flashy 70s inspired outfits similar to the God Control video. And the twins come out on stage and dance with everyone. The whole moment is very cute and a great show closer. The first encore is Like A Prayer. For me was extremely boring since it was the same performance she did since Super Bowl and she was wearing a boring black robe with crystals on it. The stairs were in an X position and the choir was on the steps in an X formation, while wearing black robes with red fabric draped as an X on the chest. Madonna was standing in the center on the X and the projections were of multiple red X letters. After this the curtain came down and lights turned on and some people started to leave. But then she came on again with the Pride version of I Rise. She wears a military jacket decorated with a lot of gold jewelry and the I Rise video is projected. The performance was good but not great. At the end the choir comes out and everyone leaves the stage through the corridors in the audience. Unfortunately Madonna and the dancers exited through the left corridor so I didn’t get to see her walk past me again.
