I cannot believe what I just saw... it was a great closing show for the Madame X tour in NYC, so many highlights... Taylor Swift attended the show! By far the greatest performances of this tour are “Frozen”, “IDSIF”, “Batuka”, “Medellin”, “Come Alive” and “Extreme Occident” which made the stairs to bump Madonna, anyways she kept singing! Gotta take my flight to hometown... later I probably post an enhanced review of the show! I’m still mesmerized by it

I love all Madonna songs on different levels. There isn’t anything that I hate, but some stuff I listen to more than others, but these songs are among my most favorite Madonna songs and I find them way more appealing and deep than most of her hits: Beautiful Killer How High? I wouldn’t generalize fan advice as one unified idea, because fans think differently so maybe one wants a rock album next while the other wants Confessions Part 2. Also she hasn’t been making any history since 4 Minutes in terms of global impact. Sure she did chart No.1 but so did Dispacito except hers didn’t last beyond a weeks, or getting people talk about her, but so does a YouTuber who says the N word during a stream or shows boobs or whatever. This is not to say that she’s a bad artist but who she was 40, 30, 20 and 10 years ago isn’t exactly the same person she is today and that’s fine because people grow, yet her decision making process recently could actually use a lot less yes people around her and a lot more people getting her in touch with reality and how trends work and how social media has an impact that can be done right or wrong and when to hop on a trend, rather than after it ceases to be cool..etc or how single artworks may require a little more effort than an Instagram selfie with bad light and an elementary school level photo shop skills to remove the background with an even worse one. I love her so much, and this is by no mean an infringement on her freedom but she’s a person like I am a person, like you are a person and like everyone else is. Her management is also made of people, and they’re capable of making mistakes and so is she, and in the recent years, her image, her marketing plans and the quality of her products and the way they’re managed are far from perfect or the high standards set by the likes of ROL, COADF or the early albums, as everything now feels rather a recreation of something she’s done before or a desperate hop on a trend that ceased to be cool or a good thing marketed and presented with a very low budget and low effort work. I would argue that “she only does what she wants and never listens to anyone” is highly debatable whether in merit or meaning. You could still listen to feedback other than “yes” and become better or learn new ideas or get inspired, especially when you’re the type of artist who wants to infiltrate every new generation, so it stands to reason to at least try to keep up with what this generation wants beside just having a rapper or the most popular singers and models just show up in a song and expecting it to sell as good as this new artists’ best songs, without making an effort to even make it a good song to begin with. On an end note, this thread was more intended to be fun than to actively “change” her past or criticize her for it.

Couldn't agree more. I mean maybe a stadium or an arena tour would require a lot of time to prepare since they're moving the set from one place to another and setting it up..etc. and then rehearsing and using the equipment, but what does she need to do with a theater that makes her take so much time? do they have to rehearse before the show even if they just did the exact same show last night? Also what is the thing that they're doing every single night that makes them appear no earlier than 11:00 PM? Many rely on public transport or need to catch a train to get to their city and may not afford a hotel and also even if you wanna get an Uber, Ubers can't handle 2000 after 01:00 AM. I don't want a refund but as you said, an explanation at least and an improvement, because it feels rather selfish at this point. Fans are expected not only to prepare a whole budget for just 2 hours of a show on top of the ticket price itself, and even then you could be faced with suddenly cancellation or hours of delays.

1) do everything the fans say to do 2) never not release any and all disco songs 3) stop aging 4) perform physically demanding/impossible tunes she hasn't wanted to sing for 30 years

....Release the RIT tour to DVD and blue ray. ....Sing "I'll Remember" in an arena tour in the future. ....plan to be on stage by 9:00pm in future shows or tours.

However, I strongly believe that when it comes to the point it is really affecting you... just go away for a couple of days, or maybe longer and you'll eventually see that it was silly to get upset about things that are beyond our control. This is Madonna. If she wants to present her music taking a dump in her apartment, then fabulous. At the end of the day, it's up to her, not us. The fact she's doing such a unique show that allows fans to get up and close is pretty cool! Enjoy it for what it is, rather than what you wanted.

im 23 and ive been a madonna fan since 2010? lmao i was 14 and i still remember of how in love i was with her at the sticky & sweet tour dvd, the front cover of my notebook at school was a picture of her giving the middle finger during s&s round two lmao i dont know about you guys but im satisfied with the tour. OF COURSE I WOULD GIVE ANYTHING to see her performing songs like nothing really matters or even rescue me live, but come onnn!!! she literally added rescue me after the dude from billboard asked her to! even if its just an interlude, this is a very unique moment for all of us madonna fans. and we're only three shows into the tour. the tour has more than 80 shows to go, SO MUCH can happen! she performed so many gems during rebel heart tour, and she rehearsed to many songs during the rehearsals for madame x tour... of course that doesnt prove anything (helloooooooooo hold on tight, how are ya doin!) but this is a whole other level concert that we're talking about. madonna is all about reinvention, and i can feel that madame x still has a lot to show. madonna herself said that the show wasnt complete lmao what we need to do is trust her and her vision more. from what we have seen (videos, pics and even the full audio of the opening night) this show is just UGH legendary. seriously. lets just wait and enjoy the ride, it could have been waaay more worse if she didnt tour at all lmao.

I apologize, because I don't fully understand your grammar / English but I respect your opinion. Personally, I think it's a fantastic show. I was disappointed when I saw the setlist online but when I actually saw the show, I understood what she was going for, and the theatrical arc she presented. FROZEN, LAP are amazing. Best Ever. Future she plays the piano - and why shouldn't she? It allows her to focus on the vocals too. People who complain about the 'late' start look silly, in my opinion. It's one night of the year. Have you never been to a club extra late? Can you survive on 4 hours of sleep one night a year? I had to fly on a plane at 8am the next day for work, and I had no issues with her start time. For those who can't handle it, have an afternoon nap before the show and turn up at 9.30pm, and then perhaps you'll be ok? #precious

It's really difficult to express an opinion after the last 3-4 pages. SETLIST: Although I feel a few oldies are missing in the setlist, especially in act 2, it's not us who can choose the songs. Also because what I want to hear is not what another fan wants to hear. I'd love to hear I'll remember or Gambler, for instance. I think we were all disappointed by the cutting of Rescue me. I also understand the show is not just for fans and the general audience wants to hear the big hits, as LAP and Vogue. If I went to a Spice girls concert I would like to hear Wannabe, or Wake me up if it was Green Day. SHOW: I don't totally understand those who say "you need to see it" because we've been saying it's all about the music, so it's not an option to ask for more attention to the musical quality. From our recording I heard very cheap and lazy renditions. I don't know if M herself or Kevin Outoftune is to blame, but this time I expected to hear a different live sound, à la Girlie Show, and I agree with @Bitch I’m Madonnathat she has posted material from rehearsals that gave us the wrong impression (but remember Hold Tight?). I don't buy Madonna playing the piano during Future, when she can have Rickey Pageot performing miracles with it, if they only let him. Then of course when I see it I will be mesmerized and enchanted by her stage presence, as always, but this won't prevent me from noticing the evident musical and vocal flaws. PHONES/TIME : I hate smartphones. Of course I need full coverage of the tour, but I hate people filming all the time. But once again she is so contradictory, cause she's always on the phone. It's an artistic choice but also a monetary choice. Madonna don't preach! But it'll be interesting for the new generation to experience a tour without knowing. Not. Because she is still working. At 61 With a carrer like that, most of the artists decide to do the same stuff over and over. Maybe she is not perfect like When she was 30, maybe her choises are less focused, but she is still working. We can criticize the things we don’t like, but Why be so mean with her?

I mean. It makes sense. She was probably inspired by the intimate moments in Portugal and wanted to try and recreate that. I wouldn't say the whole show revolves around Madame X, I would say Madame X is bended around the idea of doing an artsy Rock Concert/Broadway Show. Songs like Killers and Extreme Occident or even IDSIF are nothing like what I expected. Think about Nobody Knows Me from Reinvention Tour. The song was good, but the performance which doesn't necessarily mean anything but is very artistic and cool and takes the song to a new level. That's kinda like the whole Madame X show.

Yeah. A lot of people in my area have left during American Life. I guess they got top notch tickets for free and they thought they’re gonna see a 60yo lady playing the harp lol. I felt bad for all the real fans who can’t afford to be there while these idiots wasted these prime tickets. As for my review, it’s my experience and my opinions. And it’s supposed to be taken with a grain of salt. Yes Madonna is 61 and I don’t care if she dances or not but I do wanna see her evolve and be the true innovator and artist that she is. If she can’t Vogue she should just leave it out of the show instead of doing a subpar rendition. Honestly my favorite parts of the show were the slower more stripped down ones. I feel like that’s when to show was the most creative and she was at her best. But this is only the 3rd night. I’m hoping it will evolve and grow.

I'm all for criticism, I've been vocal about any artist's career that I follow. Madonna or otherwise. That's passion. But your post is an example of a knee-jerk decision inspired by brief clips, murky recordings, and hearsay. You may not like the tour but good god, you haven't seen it.

They took my damn fitbit. Opening night was one of the greatest nights at the theater I've had in over a decade. Respectful, no bright screens blocking my view. People talking and connecting. Ugh, a flicker.

I LOVE that she didnt do another semi greatest hits tour, as she said on opening night, shes not concerned with popularity and it shows how much she believes in the album.

We once went to shows without phones, and did just fine. We werent hungry for information all the time. It's funny how when you take people's phones away, they start displaying behaviors of withdrawal...you know, like addicts. They get cranky and upset and want MORE. Theyre just PHONES. Not organs. We've turned into addicts who cant be bothered to put them down for two hours and be a SPECTATOR. And aborb. And enjoy. And BE PRESENT, in the moment. We dont need to be documenting everything. Im glad artists are doing this at show now. People cant be bothered to have manners, then you have to treat them like children: take their phones away.
