  1. So yesterday was Madonna’s final show in NYC, and I gotta say... WOW, just that, I mean overall she puts in a show which is totally different to the ones I’ve seen before. I can recall right now how amazing is the transition from “Rescue Me” as interlude to “Frozen”, the goosebumps when she sang the first verse of the track and Lola in the projections and their faces and looks intertwined, by far is the best performance of the song since DWT. Speaking of the DWT, it reminds me sometimes about it, since that tour was the one in which she performed few “hits” or songs from the 80’s, and this time an important part of the album is performed on the show. She dances way much more than in the RHT! It’s also incredible that even though she had a knee injury she managed to pull out an entire show, without making changes on the setlist or finishing it earlier. In The first segment, “IDSIF” is very theatrical and groovy. The beginning of the Fado segment is very energetic and it’s just Madame X songs, so if you like the album, this segment would be your favorite one. When she performs “Crazy” it is noticeable the chemistry between her and this new “boyfriend”, however, I expected a better performance of this song. “Medellin” and “Extreme Occident” are by far the greatest ones in this section. “Come Alive” also is one of the highlights, at least for me, the choreography and projections were beyond my expectations! “LAP” was sung by everyone yesterday, the crowd really sang along! The last number, “I Rise” it’s totally appropriate regarding the message that the concert as a whole intends to give, Madonna being so close to us is magical! I was mesmerized by that moment! New York will miss Madame X! Madonna is a legend for a reason. 10/10 BRAVOO

  2. I cannot believe what I just saw... it was a great closing show for the Madame X tour in NYC, so many highlights... Taylor Swift attended the show! By far the greatest performances of this tour are “Frozen”, “IDSIF”, “Batuka”, “Medellin”, “Come Alive” and “Extreme Occident” which made the stairs to bump Madonna, anyways she kept singing! Gotta take my flight to hometown... later I probably post an enhanced review of the show! I’m still mesmerized by it

  4. I can't say for sure, but I don't think so. I feel like it would stand out in my mind if there were extra scenes. Actually I think the only "NEW" thing recorded was Lola for Frozen everything else was chopped up official music videos, arty projections, or scene projections.

Wed October 16 Chicago Theatre Thu October 17 Chicago Theatre Mon October 21 Chicago Theatre Wed October 23 Chicago Theatre Thu October 24 Chicago Theatre Sun October 27 Chicago Theatre Mon October 28 Chicago Theatre So, the schedule seems less tiring than NY, with a 2 days and 3 days pause. Almost no weekends. I hope everything goes well. But the theatre on first night is half empty. There are plenty good seats left to buy at reasonable prices!

  9. I will be in the front row tonight. Out of nowhere I found a single seat a couple of days ago for face value. Words cannot even express my excitement. I may have to audio record this on my phone while it's locked away

  10. I mean... keep going on about things you have no actual idea about, but like I said, the actual set pieces like the stairs move around a LOT in various ways and not manually. I don't know if it's the actual reason for the delay, but the set isn't as simplistic as people keep trying to make it out to be.

  16. they are both so good. but i have to go with Crave. One of the big highlights for me on the album

  19. Contact the venue, sometimes they can move you down a level. I did this at the O2 when I saw Prince as it was very high and steep.

  20. There are too many to list them all.... but as far as singles are concerned : - Angel : It was a Top 10 hit (US No.5 / UK No.6) but deserves more attention - The Look Of Love : never released in the US and not a big hit in the rest of the world (UK No.9) - Something To Remember : this beautiful song should have been the 3rd single from "I´m Breathless" - Bad Girl : Her first non Top 20 single in the US (No 36). What a shame and totally underestimated. The video directed by David Fincher is amazing! (UK No. 10) - Rain (US No.14 / UK No.7) - Bedtime Story (US No.42 / UK No. 4) - Love Don´t Live Here Anymore (US No. 78!!!) - One More Chance (UK No. 11) - You Must Love Me (US No.18 / UK No.10) - Drowned World / Substitute For Love (UK No. 10) - Nothing Really Matters : A favorite of mine, song and video! (US No. 93 !!!! / UK No. 7) - Be Careful (Solo Version) : This should have been a single! - Paradise (Not For Me) : planned as a single (of Mirwais album) but withdrawn at the very last minute. The best track on "Music" - Ghosttown : I mean this is almost a joke that this great song was in no country in the top 10 - Crave - I Rise And many tracks of Rebel Heart would have been a better choise as a single instead of "Living For Love" and "Bitch I´m Madonna". "Devil Pray", "Heartbreak City", "Wash All Over Me", "Rebel Heart" or the wonderful "Messiah" for instance

  26. We'd have to make her album flop for her to do a Greatest Hits. But y'all went and made Madame X number 1... so she's putting the Madame X logo on every kind of fabric one could imagine. She's currently writing Madame XS Max.

  28. WOW = SOMEONE ELSE ! Someone called 'Madonna' went down a peg when She announced her next record would be, "ALL Hits, no Filler !" OK It was called 'Like A Virgin'. I beg your puddin' love but there's 'filler' on it. 'Dance 2night' is A HIT. Like the above it was written to be one. "They'd already sung on one single !".....was the best reason I found for it not being A Single. Comprende ? 'Sing Wingy' is genius.

  29. I mean, nothing is impossible. Is it probable? I'd say probably not, at least in the US. The show seems pretty set, and everything works well when seen live. The political agenda she's pushing is very clear and the songs and set pieces reflect that. There's not really much room to change those around if she still wants to get those specific messages across, plus the fact that her knee seems to have been in great pain since before the tour started and she barely has any days off through the rest of the US leg, doesn't make it likely that something new is going to be added in. For Europe, who knows... but this show is about artists disturbing the peace and her Madame X album inspirations of fado, batuka, etc. It's literally hammered home at the open and close via typewriter. But I'll always be interested to hear what other cities end up having in their shows if people go. Also I'm interested in the funny moments. Those change from show to show depending on what pops up, so it's always interesting to me to hear.

  30. I have to disagree with this entirely, aside from raising the wrong expectations on Instagram. The show is stunning live, and you really need a couple viewings from different angles to really digest it all. When you're up close, Madonna is so mesmerizing and has such a commanding presence that I barely looked anywhere else. The choreography isn't as aerobics heavy as past tours, but it's absolutely more physically demanding than RHT. She's in much better shape than she was on the RHT. Her legs are still to die for. She still has a natural grace and charisma in her movements that are unmatched, and she's almost always moving. It's all really hard to describe. The best way would probably be instead of the concert video backdrops we are used to, the entire set is a projection for the images, that spread beyond the center stage to the rest of the theater space, and she's part of the entire projection and set like you would expect in a theater show. Although the set looks simple, if you look closely, there are actually a lot of complex moving pieces and set designs that are very well done. The setlist might not make much sense on paper or even audio, but it flows seamlessly live when everything is working. The audience reaction makes up a large part of that success or not though, which is where the lateness becomes the defining factor to a good or bad show and also whether she's in a playful or bad mood. Her outfits are more costume-like to fit the theatrical acts she's trying to convey rather than looking glamorous or sexy for the sake of being a pop star like in past concerts, but that doesn't mean they're lower quality. The tour book lists most of the same and other high end designers as her past tours. It's just different. A lot of the setlist and audio won't make much sense or necessarily seem very impressive without the visuals. This is a very visual show. It's all meant to convey her political agenda rather than being pure entertainment. The show is a work of art. I can see how this would be incredibly difficult to film, but I hope they manage to do so at some point. This deserves to be seen and more than once. There are so many layers that you miss if you're focusing on one thing or another. I admit my attention wandered briefly during some of the less exciting songs the first night, but mostly because I was really tired. There is a point to every song though, it's not just a random playlist thrown together like it sounds. I'll be the first to admit I had quite low expectations going in, but it was amazing. At the end of the day, there is no one like Madonna. Kevin at the beer moment last night told her "the world would be a better place if it was like a Madonna concert". M said "but this isn't really a Madonna concert. It's Madame X theater. Don't confuse the two."

  32. Thing is, we are all here on a FORUM discussing the deats of a show as it happens, eavesdropping, investigating, anticipating, coz the only people who have seen it...well actually have seen it! Feels very '90s - or even '80s. Only Madonna could have worked this magic in the smart phone/social media instantaneousness that our world has become these days! Brava Madonna!! Just hurry the f'uck up b*tch and start the show earlier. Week nights are ars'holes the next day for us on Earth!

  33. Oh and I got a tour book. As did everyone I saw apparently. I only flipped through it briefly, but there's an envelope in the back with postcards. The one on top says "Madame X loves you" with the reverse saying "Wish you were here!"

  34. I've been on and off this forum during my last semester of college but when did forums become positive only places? Granted yes, no one like a debbie downer but I always thought you could openly discuss things such as the show, the album, songs, videos etc and say what you like and dislike about it without resorting to insults or personal attacks. Now it seems more and more people are expected to praise and love everything versus an open discussion about things (I don't condone the extremism of it) but shouldn't we welcome discussion as long as it doesn't violate the rules, breaks copyright laws etc? Just my two cents (not enough for the Polaroid)

  35. She had people around for 35 years, she really had it all. I think she just wants to see her theatres full at this point of her career, that's it.

  36. You said it perfectly. For me I can’t even begin to describe what I saw last night. It’s like an art installation more than anything. Very Martha Graham. Not a conventional Madonna show. It’s a musical, a think piece, a bold statement on the world we live in today. I feel so inspired and empowered by it all. You need to go see this show if you’re a Madonna fan it was incredible. So powerful, so emotional, so beautiful, very dark and very political. A celebration of love, music and humanity. Absolutely fucking genius. She takes you on an emotional & cathartic journey. To see Madonna perform in such a small theatre space was like dream and a surreal experience. It was Pure fucking art.

  37. The simple fact that we will able to see her perfom so close is an experience of its own, not to mention hear her clear voice... the fan reviews are so good, but of course, some do not understand what she's making and it's ok. 2 bad for them ! But she's still Madonna in this theater show. I can't wait to 1 2 cha cha cha with her, and yes she's gonna take me there with a simple stage (yet visually stunning as reported). Maybe that's why I hope the experience will be so good and emotional.

  40. I look forward to experience this show... didn't hear or see anything except the "official" pictures that are not very close up. The show may look simple but I think the experience is everything. Seeing and hearing Madonna in a small venue, that's totally different from her usual arena shows for sure. So stop complaining if you didn't see the show ! Of course, any of us would have made a different setlist, but it's impossible to please everyone with such a consistant catalogue. I'm glad the Madame X album is defended by her like this, she's definitely not a nostalgia act yet and I want to enjoy. Most important thing for me as a fan, is that she sounds good singing live, because some events have been a public disgrace. It seems she delivers great vocals in the show, happy about that ! Thanks for the reports !!

  41. Me neither actually... The article says the tour ends on Feb 23 and we know it ends in March. It is already one of the longest Madonna tours. But we have to say that Italy remains one of the countries where M is the most popular. Last weekend I saw BOTH Crave and Medellin videos on tv!! (R101)
