  1. to awnser the question, x-static process is without a doubt my favorite SP collaboration, after that maybe erotica for confessions tour and most of the reworkings for re-invention. Though I always whish she kept SP as musical director for her tours I'm not that keen on their recordings. Confessions, to me, is one of the most overrated M albums and definitly not the definitive album of the 2000's, both Music and AL are way more Madonnaesque and frankly just better. I think sticky and sweet got a bit in the way, as I can't see stuart making anything urban or hip hop work in his favor, it's natural she wanted a different direction, but every tour since would have benefitted form stuart's touch. I think he has a real understanding of what makes a madonna song, and that translates really well live and with the oldies. At the same time that is also the problem I have with confessions, it all sounds too much like how you would expect a madonna record would sound, without having any real umph or urgency in the time it was released. That said Forbidden Love is an absolute gem ;-)

  5. This!!? Love the reworking he did on old classic M tracks for the RIT. ONLY wished he would use the full vocals on the tracks. For example on PDP (RIT) and Everybody (CPT) he skipped verses/bridges and choruses.

  6. I’m going to have to say Confessions era. I was in my first year of college, fresh out of the closet, and V into the disco dance vibe my gay ass couldn’t handle it. She promo’d the SHITE out of that album. And did it well too. Well played M. Well played.

  12. Whats your favourite era?

  13. Granted yes but it was the way he remixed them so they had more depth to them, I'm thinking of the top of my head how he "reinvented" Music on Confession, he was determined to get her to sing Rain on Confessions but she wouldn't but relented and gave in to Erotica. Even Secret on DWT, La Isla Bonita and Deeper and Deeper. I just think from watching clips of them that they just got on really well, he didn't take any of her crap and was invested in not just rehashing an album version. I believe if she was still working with him then we had more variety of oldies on each tour.

  15. I really enjoyed the setlist but I really love the album. The only thing I would change in it would be moving Future closer to the first or second act, doing the whole versions of papa dont preach and express yourself. Start with the Rescue me interlude and go straight into singing the whole song. Rescue me, Frozen, Come alive, Crave, Like Prayer and I rise would be a killer final act

  20. Oh, I love this question! For me, it's a tie between Erotica/Bedtime Stories/Ray of Light. She was so powerful in the 90's. Each era was so different and so unique. All three albums were also amazing. The Erotica era was a bit sad because of the crazy negativity she got from the public during that time, but I feel that her message of sex positivity was really timeless. There will always be people who are scared of talking about sex and being open about it and the Erotica era still poses important questions that can really help those who want to be sex positive actually become sex positive. She broke barriers and a lot of women in the industry wouldn't be able to talk about sex in an artistic way if M hadn't been the one to take the first bite. It was also a really fun era. She had a lot of iconic looks and she was so unapologetic. I just love it! The Bedtime Stories era was a little bit strange as well, but it's still so special to me. She was still dealing with the negativity from the Erotica era, and she came back with a bang when people thought she never would! Take A Bow is still her longest running number 1 on the Billboard charts. I love her style from this era. She looked gorgeous! There are so many iconic things about the Bedtime Stories era. The music videos, the Letterman interview, her resilience. The Ray of Light era was the first era that I really got into while I was on my journey through Madonna's discography. The birth of Lola brought such a glow to M. Motherhood brought out the best in her. She just felt so peaceful and calm. I love all the interviews from the Ray of Light era. It really was a great era for her, and again another successful one as well!

  23. I wish I could go to one of the concerts in Miami. Actually, I requested 2 tickets during that lottery thing, but I was told my request had been declined due to " an overwhelming demand". Now that I got tickets and planned everything to see her in Lisbon, I learned that there are hundreds of tickets available on ticketmaster. Go Figure! Well, at least I've never been to Portugal before and Madame X Tour was a great excuse to travel somewhere new.

  28. I would have loved Celebration (the best of, not the track) to be fully mixed by Stuart Price. As in a new fresh take on the classics. As what was done for The Immaculate Collection mixed by Shep back in the days.

  43. I don't believe it(!) They tried Ray of Light!...shock horror. I bet they tried Candy Shop and Music as well. If I had the cash to do this backstage tour I'd give Kevin a list of never performed Madonna songs that they could perhaps try for the next tour. At least Stuart Price used to try (and usually successfully) get her to pick at least one song from each album. Which is why in my opinion there is a greater variety between DWT-Confessions. Ok some of the same songs she wouldn't let go of but at least he would try to reinvent them as much as possible.
