    Madame X Tour | Miami

I don’t know why there is a lot of push back on her Madame X shows. I know everyone’s got an opinion, that’s obvious... but I have been thoroughly impressed by the Madame X journey. Maybe I stand with the minority.. The show was an amazing experience. The audience was so much more engaged than Rebel Heart for example. I appreciate that Madonna doesn’t do the same things over and over. ?

I know that this will be another post about her ass...very annoying, I know guys you're all right. BUT NOW I CAN FINALLY SAY THAT IS NOT HER ACTUAL ASS in other videos (like in her ice pool) and in some pictures she has her REAL ass I think that she's wearing "something"...like the grillz in her mouth. I don't think she really did something to her ass. I still remember her video in the backstage of the videoclip for "Crave"...where she was talking with Lola in that video she got her real ass....not the fake big one. It's like a big underwear XD the real question is: WHY????

I always thought there should have been more b-sides throughout Madonna's discography. It could have been a perfect excuse to keep on releasing physical singles and therefore generating more interest in buying them. Her bloody labels could have prevented us from downloading rare songs illegally for years. Songs that should have been b-sides include: Shame, Your Honesty (though we got it in 2003 but extremely out of place in that EP), Revenge, Arioso, Like An Angel Passing Through My Room, Liquid Love, Miss You, Cool Song, Triggering, Latte, Animal, ETC!)

Well, Has to Be was released as a b-side to Ray of Light single as well as bonus on Ray of Light album. I guess it can be considered both a b-side and a bonustrack.

  7. Unless we actually know M personally, I think it is better not to comment on her relationships. Especially current ones. I know that we just want what is best for her, but I think some things are better left unsaid. Maybe a couple years from now, we can look back in retrospect and say something, but we aren't in a position to say anything right now.

    M's new boyfriend

I agree. I think they were very much in love. Heck, she even moved her whole life to London for a huge period of their marriage and I think she was very sad (although not as obvious on stage compared to the whole Rocco thing) when it was breaking down and was over. I always thought this was one reason she agreed to do a second leg of Sticky and Sweet to keep her busy and occupied.

  11. Pollstar posted their year end stats (Nov 22, 2018-Nov 20, 2019) Madonna ranked #98 on the worldwide list and #77 on the North American tours. Madonna: Gross: $16.3 million Cities/Shows: 6/36 Average Ticket: $277.28 Average Tickers Per City; 1,630 Tickets Sold: 58,696 Average Gross: $452,097 Keep in mind Pollstar will also estimate grosses as the cities doesn’t match (NYC, Chicago, San Francisco, Las Vegas and LA) and also if they counted the show on the 20th that makes 35 shows. The ticket sales are also way off, the Billboard boxscores from NYC and Chicago have her at over 54,000 tickets sold.

  15. The most likely scenario is she has some sort of drag-esque padding on.... and if so who cares? This may shock you but there are also likely wigs and makeup involved here and footwear that alter her height during the show. In fact at one point there are several Madonna’s on stage at once, since we are theorizing maybe the one has a larger rear than others and does this number so the real Madonna can take a rest back stage... who is the real Madame X? I can’t believe this is being discussed again smdh

I think she's wearing something too (much like her grills and for the same reasons). To make others uncomfortable whether they like it or not and because it's her and everyone's right to be who they are and that means for looks too. Ha ha. I love her!

Even though I've complained on the ticket games, late start times, and no air-conditioning at times, I love that she tried something new too but I hope an arena tour is coming in the next year or two. And here's a new video by Madonna's team. These always give me hope of a DVD coming. But ouch, look at the bruise on her thigh.....

Madonna's first three albums were basically singles + B-sides, almost every deep cut was released as a B-sides. Never got why she has so few... Pet Shop Boys have almost five discs of them in a similar time span.

I don’t class has to be as a b-side but I’m sure I will be shot down - I love that song a lot but I class supernatural as it wasn’t released on any Madonna album - I’m still trying to decipher the lyrics to this song 30 years later ?

  27. If only. I would die for Stuart to come back and fully give her back catalog the reworks he did for a lot of it during CT. Knowing our luck we'll have Aldo Diaz as graphic designer and Kevin will stay with the 9th rendition of Candy Shop behind an Instagram filter alternating between studio vocals, different dates and long hair/short hair Madonna.

  28. I wasn't all this. She's free to do what and whom she pleases but as a fan, it is worrying considering her previous relationships. We all just want someone kind and loving for her because she does deserve it. Guy did benefit towards the end of the marriage with Liz leaking to the press of the amount of money he got from her after his father had been bragging and slamming Madonna. I miss Liz shutting down people with swift force rather than whomever is doing the PR rounds for her lately. That's my take on it and I'd rather not think of her resorting to tricks to where and what she's got. Wendy truly is a flip flopper. She couldn't handle the divorce or the fact her husband was having a child with another woman and played oblivious to it until news broke. I find it funny how she'll criticize others but she cannot handle her own life much life criticizing Madonna's relationships and choices. This isn't the first time.

  30. Madonna Kicked Off Her Fillmore Residency With No Phones and Air Conditioning Madonna's road to bringing her Madame X residency to the Fillmore Miami Beach began with a lawsuit. Last month, Madonna fan Nate Hollander filed suit in Miami-Dade County court after the Queen of Pop pushed back the start time of her concert from 8:30 to 10:30 p.m. Hollander argued that the late start time made it virtually impossible for him to re-sell his tickets, which he no longer wanted due to the change. Here's hoping Hollander was able to sell his tickets, because for the first show of her seven-night Fillmore residency, Madonna took the stage shortly after 11 p.m. and played straight through 1:30 a.m. Before the phone-free show began, fans bided their time in the Fillmore's lobby, where they danced to a mix of Madonna's hits, most of which she declined to play during the show later that night. And even in an intimate theater show packed with some of her most dedicated fans, there was one other complaint: Virtually no air conditioning could be felt in the building throughout the duration of the concert. Midway through the show, the mezzanine filled with chants of "AC! AC! AC!" "Fuck you! I'm cold," responded the singer. "Take your fucking clothes off," she continued, hinting that the hot temperature eased the physical pain that led her to cancel three tour dates in Boston less than a month ago. Fans reprised their pleas for air conditioning a couple more times throughout the night, but it's telling that no one actually left early. The adoring audience at the Miami Beach theater knew this was a rare chance to see their idol in an intimate venue. "I've wanted this opportunity to play in small theaters for a long time," said the singer shortly after opening the show with Madame X tracks "God Control" and "Dark Ballet." If fans were expecting Madonna's theater shows to bring them closer to the songs they grew up listening to, the master of surprise had other plans for them. The Madame X tour setlist is mostly comprised of tracks from her latest album, with the occasional cut from Bedtime Stories and Ray of Light sprinkled throughout. "La Isla Bonita" makes an appearance when it's interpolated into her Maluma collaboration, "Medellín." "Express Yourself" also makes it onto the setlist, but as an acapella interlude. Fan favorites "Frozen" and "Like A Prayer" elicited the most enthusiastic crowd reactions, but the audience kept an open mind for the newer tracks, which were accompanied by an elaborate stage show that recalled Broadway productions more than it did the average pop concert. During the opening number, Madonna emerged in a colonial dress flanked by dancers in police uniforms and riot gear as videos of Black Lives Matter protests were projected behind her. Among other theatrical flourishes were a string quartet dressed in nun's habits and a casket draped with an American flag carried across the stage by actors in servicemen's uniforms. During "I Don't Search I Find," Madonna embodied her femme fatale Madame X persona in an interrogation scene that recalled Michael Jackson's noir "Smooth Criminal" music video. Her kitchen sink approach wasn't only limited to the set design. Referring to herself as a freedom fighter, Madonna also addressed a flurry of political issues throughout the show, from gun reform to Black Lives Matter to Palestine, environmentalism, LGBTQ equality, and women's rights. "I made up my mind and I'm not keeping my baby," she sang during "Papa Don't Preach," altering the lyrics before pausing the music to launch into a monologue about the rollback of abortion rights in state legislatures throughout the country. Sitting next to the singer — who relished the intimate setting by walking into the crowd and interacting with fans several times — one fan illustrated the impact that decades of activist artistic messaging can foster. "There was no It Gets Better campaign when I was growing up," the fan told Madonna as she held the microphone for him. Without her pioneering encouragement of LGBTQ communities, he continued, he's not sure he would have been alive today. Even for fans who may not have hit repeat on Madonna's Lisbon-inspired Madame X and maybe found the "One, two, cha-cha-cha" of "Medellín" a little cringy, the album's supporting tour was worth the late start time and lack of air conditioning. Looking ahead to additional dates, fans who stick it out will get an intimate look at an artist who, nearly 40 years into her career, is refusing to rest on the beloved, paradigm-shifting art she made in the past, instead opting to continue challenging even her most devoted audiences. "I hope I've disturbed your peace this evening," she said near the end of the show, in reference to a James Baldwin quote that was projected onscreen at the beginning of the concert. As much as she's proven she loves to provoke her audiences, it's clear her greatest pleasure still comes from challenging herself.

  35. I have absolutely no idea who this guy is so I can not judge him. I have never really been all that enthralled with Madonna's love life. She always seems to think she has to be someone who challenges her or a it seems just a purely physical relationship. Her relationships bore me. I never bought into being with someone who challenges you. That gets tiresome really fast. Her two marriages ended with so much bitterness. Challenge you a little on ways to improve yourself but not a complete rejection of the person you are. You have to be somewhat compatable to spend that much time together. I also hate her preoccupation with a guy looking a certain way. I understand wanting someone who takes care of themselves but I'm sick of her detailed problems with looks that seem to come from a written criteria. The age difference doesn't bother me in relationships if it is a spontaneous thing. If an older person is "only" dating people in thier twenties...that doesn't make any sense and shows a lack of maturity. Sure, I like the cultural aspect of an older woman dating a younger man since we have so many immature men who date younger women. It bothers me that she seems to stay away from dating older men because if you are gonna fight ageism you yourself can not be ageist. There are plenty of attractive older men that take good care of themselves. She just doesn't date them. I would just like to see her with someone more animated and independent and not just hanging all over her like thier in high school.

  37. Live To Tell (WTG, Confessions) Both are amazing in the original version and the updated Confessions mix with the religious symbolism. Look of Love (WTG) Her standing alone as she sings this underrated classic. It deserves more appreciation for sure. Oh Father (BA) Her and Carlton in sync as she belts out this shortened version before the transition to "Papa Don't Preach." In This Life (GS) Something about singing about the devastation of death, the AIDS crisis, her friends' memory while being watched by a clown in the background. Poignant, simplistic but spoke in many volumes. Lament (RIT) Delivering an Evita track so unexpectedly with strong vocals and conviction. Short, sweet and effective. Drowned World/Substitute For Love (Confessions) The best rendition of the track. Madonna, Isaac and a oomphed production of the track. Paradise (Confessions) Acoustic, simple yet so moving. Isaac's male vocals added so much to the song as well. You Must Love Me (Sticky and Sweet) Delivering an Evita classic with that arrangement in so many cities especially on the DVD release with DCFMA. Love Spent (MDNA) Goodness, how this performance evolved from a rough performance to shifting to a full-fledged work of art. She removed more clothing as it matured and became a staple on the tour slowing the high energy of the album track to a somber, emotional yearning for understanding from a money hungry ex-husband. HeartBreakCity/Love Don't Live Here Anymore I will forever have a grudge this performance was neutered on the final version. Theatrical once the screen shows a city in rain, the vocals she delivered sounded pre-Evita as the staging with the staircase and a lone spotlight was so simple but effective in conveying the message of the song. Once you hear the familiar strings of LDLHA, it's beautiful. Singing only two choruses and a verse of the song, it blended beautifully and sounded amazing live.

  42. I don't think so, not at all. Madonna doesn't put on boring shows. If the set-list was mixed up enough it would work well. We are talking about a greatest hits tour, and those are her greatest hits according to the charts. If M wasn't touring an album this is exactly the sort of show that the general public would expect and the kind of show that would sell.
    1 point
  43. I think she will do a greatest hits tour, and if she does, I think it will be her last tour. I think we will probably see another album from her, but I'm not 100% sure she will tour it, because I don't see Madonna doing this at 70 like some artists because M does a very different show. I think M will go more into trying to direct more films, but who knows. I would call it, "TAKE A BOW" and it would ONLY have hits. No obscure album tracks, just songs that charted well that people will remember. In NO particular order because this is pretty much a release timeline Holiday Lucky Star Borderline Like A Virgin Material Girl Crazy for You Dress You Up Live To Tell Papa Don't Preach Open Your Heart La Isla Bonita Like A Prayer Express Yourself Cherish Vogue Rain I'll Remember Secret Take A Bow Frozen Ray of Light Music Don't Tell Me Hung Up
