  4. Fourth time lucky! I think this show is absolutely extraordinary and incomparable to anything she’s ever done. It’s really beautiful, interesting, poignant and clever. My attention didn’t wander at all, was lost in every detail from start to finish. She’s never sounded better and you can hear she is live throughout the whole show - where I was sitting (upper circle) you could hear her live voice clearly in every song (people around commented on her sounding great too). She’s also never been more relaxed, fun and loose in concert. I did think she was careful on her legs and her moves were a bit measured at times but that didn’t take away anything from the performance. I’m super happy and feel very lucky to have been able to see it. It’s probably not for everybody - I couldn’t ask for more personally. We’re not worthy of this woman, truly. Fun bit - she did say at one point about having recorded Don’t Cry For Me Argentina that maybe she didn’t sound like Patti LuPone but she definitely sounded like Madonna Veronica Louise Ciccone.

  5. There has been said many things already about last nights show, and all i can say is that it was out of this world , fucking brillaint! She sang DCFMA very close to me and i rise topped it all! Thank you Madonna for a Night i will never forget in my life! And thanx to all the ones from the Madonna Family i met! Was so great seeing you again! There is only 1 queen, and that's Madonna

She mentioned Andrew Lloyd Webber at the first speech (the Mozart one), regarding a string quintet. After all, he is the owner of the Palladium. Then when she sang the fado song, she said that when Gaspar challenged her to sing fado, she thought "I could make it, after all I sang DCFMA", the band played the first chord. The rest is history. Instead of the beer bitch, she dedicated the song to ALW, saying she felt embarassed. The best gift I could ever imagine! First time I hear it live. For those who don't know, I played Magaldi in a regional production and saw the movie 4 times on the day it came out.

  8. From Neil at Madonna Tribe: Best night of the tour by far for me. Aside from when she sat on my lap and felt me up. She started just after 9 with God Control. No beer bitch - instead we had DCFMA (not the whole thing but enough - second verse to the end) with Andrew Lloyd Weber watching. As Come Alive came to an end she turned to the backing singers and said GO. This was 10.55pm. During Future she was visibly hurried and said something about not being pulled off stage. At the end of Like a Prayer she got the entire audience ping and chanting I HAVE ONE MORE SONG, I HAVE ONE MORE SONG. As the curtain pulled across she said “keep my mic on. I’m finishing the show. We’re going on”. The lights went down for I Rise at 11.10pm and just as the intro started they closed the curtains on her. BARE IN MIND THE FINAL CURFEW IS 11.15pm. She started chanting censorship - off stage - and 2500 people - with the lights on - chanted too - it was good humoured, in support of Madonna. It was crazy and exciting and positive. Her sound team through the stage speakers restarted I Rise as the dancers all came on stage along with the band and crew and backing singers in their off stage outfits. With the house mic on and music just audible she performed the whole of I Rise IN FRONT OF THE IRON CURTAIN. It was like a gigantic FUCK YOU to the petty London Palladium who shut her down 5 full minutes before curfew. Venue security were all over the place, whining. Everyone left their seats and crowded the stage shouting and singing I Rise. Best most amazing atmosphere. At the end, defiant to the last, she excited through the crowd flanked by her own awesome security full crew dancers and singers. Despite the crowd being out of their seats , they just parted for her safe exit. It was magic. On the way out the London Palladium security were hanging their heads in shame. Ranging from “Westminster Council pulled the plug” (so a counsellor was on site to pull it 5 minutes early?) to “omg I’m so worried this will be in the papers tomorrow”. One security guard said to me “we’ve seriously fucked up here. She wasn’t late”. So let’s not start bleating that she was over curfew. She wasn’t. She has until 11.15pm according to venue security. Absolutely brilliant end. I live for moments like this where I see the brave defiant shit disturber Madonna come to the surface. And in the face of petty over zealous London Palladium security tonight, she won. The rest of the run will be very interesting. Brilliant night.

  9. Its unfair to say that only madonna has her private things going on. The people who work there have their private things too. So it aint only madonna. Nobody wants to work a minute longer because of somebody’s tardiness. Certainly not me. Not for Madonna, rihanna, beyonce or obama. They’re not paying my bills. We close at 11 so get the f out because i want to clock out and go home! So whoever did that, did the right thing. Ain’t nobody got time for diva problems. You don’t go to work, to your boss with this attitude. When you have a big presentation at work, you make sure to be on time. If you’re late, its your fault. You don’t holla censorship to your boss, do you? No hate but some of y’all fans accepting things that are not ok just because it’s Madonna. But if it was your colleague, yall wouldve send a 10 letter page complaint to your boss, the mayor, lawyers, the insurance company... Just keep it 100. Her behavior was not ok and fans have the right to complain about it.

  11. Ok here I am in my hotel room ready to answer questions! Yes, I made it, no problems with the code having my internet page left open. Neil has said it all, I will repeat a few things if you want. My recorder stopped after 2 minutes. This phone is a total failure. I tried it at home recording 4 hours. Yesterday the app crashed the whole phone I believe.

  12. Ok, I will try... Frozen you already know, one of the best moments. Come alive: at the end the girls ran away, but she couldn't move to the piano because the curtain was still down. She said something I couldn't hear. When she sat she kept giving instructions, but her mic level was VERY LOW, so it was impossible to hear. Before LAP there is still a small fragment of the Crave video. At the end of LAP curtain went down, she screamed "I have one more song!" Curtain went up again and Ahlamalik did the last James Baldwin moment. Then they turned on the lights in the audience. Curtain down again. When curtain was still down the I rise backing track started. We were all screaming and the dancers came out of the curtain. A very Glasgow moment! Then M appeared, her mic was on, but general low volume, but we were all singing, she went on until the end, exited through the audience, she said something like "oh my God" and then "thank you London you've been a great crowd". One of the dancers filmed with his cell phone.

  16. Absolutely! DCFMA and I rise are my favourite moments. Honest, impromptu. I also loved Human Nature, Fado Pechincha, Frozen, Come alive. Kind of disappointed by Batuka, everyone here said it's powerful, I didn't feel it. Pretty sure the choir was prerecorded. I also think that Future lowers the energy after Frozen and Come alive. It's no Ghosttown. I think probably and oldie but goodie would have worked better at that point of the show.

What an awesome show, after two cancelled shows it was third time lucky. The performance of I Rise with the house lights on was amazing

  18. lol @ Madonna's Instagram commenting back on people's snark. She should do this as a segment on the show instead of beer bitch "so what are people saying on the internet now, let's have a look" especially with her kidnapping all the cell phones

Not at all. You’d just open doors at 1830. Excuse all you like, she could be on stage at 20:45 every night.

  20. Wow, sounds like a show to remember! Jealous of the DCFMA moment would love to hear her singing that. Can’t she permanently replace the beer bitch section with it

Preshow started at 8:05 and ended at 8:30. Eight songs, including Secret (first shivers of the night), Don't tell me, WTG and LAV. I was impressed that the public didn't care much about them, cause they are really great. Makes me understand why the show is not focused on live music. The vocal backing track is always covering the live vocals. Guys, I am sorry but the real vocals are Fado Pechincha and Frozen. Plus various bits here and there. You can her M breathe there, and often. You never her a single breathing in Crazy, for instance. People were all sat at 8:40, but kept walking in and out. She came out after 9:00, by then I was almost sure she would cut the first songs. Obviously there is a group of M fans who know each other, I am sorry I don't know anyone. The guy next to me wasn't hapoy I was invading his space trying hard too see something. She said she would sung Can't help falling if it wasn't for the curfew. Polaroid was between two, a boy from Poland who offered 2000$, a girl who offered 2000£. M asked wheter dollars or pounds are more valuable, it makes me wonder if she paid Guy Ritchie in dollars or pounds

  23. What would we do without this gem? Madonna had a message to sing and a perfect one to end the Girlie Show. What's more, all she needed was a raggy pair of jean shorts and a sports top to do it in. I love her short pixie ...and her black leather bra and boots too. Let the music take you ("down below") in celebrating this performance. Thanks to @Levonfor bringing up this performance in another thread.

  24. God i'll be really bummed out if she cuts the first section for my show. I've spent a lot of money on tickets, airfare and hotel, the most i have for any single entertainment event. I wish to have the full experience and to watch the entire show as it is intended.

I’m all for strict curfews, it’s respect for the fans whom travel home after and respectful for the workers who expect the shows to be over and the venue locked up by 12. I actually like the fact she’s had a bit of a shove from them. For someone with a reputation of being super disciplined, her lateness this last few years is almost uncanny. She looks lovely on those photos btw!

  29. Nothing new. I have to say my 4th row seat was REALLY BAD, I totally missed Dark Ballet, Batuka, half of the stairs were not visible. Ugly shoes again, barefoot in Come alive, stocking on head only during Frozen. I didn't see her limp, she does incredible movements she could avoid without compromising the show. Still I couldn't tell if she was in a good mood, at least in the first part, maybe cause it's the hardest one. It's the one that convinced me less, I found it cold and distant. Maybe cause I only saw half of it

  36. There are huge penalties for the venue if they go past curfew apparently. I can kind of see both sides. Personally I think 11pm is too early, if residents live near a popular established venue the law should fall in favour of the venue as no doubt it was there before any of the residents. In other places this wouldn't happen, if you wanted peace and quiet you wouldn't move close to a busy street where there are theatres, bars etc. Why is it she has this problem there and nowhere else?

Notice how on the official video on Facebook of I Rise you can only hear her say ‘COME ON PEOPLE’, but can’t really hear her singing at all. Kinda sums up what Enrico said about most of the music genuinely coming from a tape. The atmosphere on that video though, wonderful, takes me back to RHT Glasgow which was a terrific night! and as for Censorship, she really needs to look up what censorship means. She wasn’t censored, the post itself makes it clear the true curfew should be 11pm... if 11.15 is supposed to be the absolute final cut off, the venue probably just got sick of her taking the stage time of the show to the edge every night. i have a feeling tonight will be the shorter show, and I’m still scouting for a decent seat.

They cut her at 11.10pm. venue security have told us since day 1 her final curtain down is 11.15pm. On at least 2 shows so far she’s finished at 11.12pm. there was some shitty power play going on. no matter what official statement is agreed today by Madonna’s camp and the Palladium, they shut the curtains 5 minutes early.
