  2. Well now that he's done producing Pet Shop Boys album trilogy--maybe he'll get back together with Madonna. I would die for a Madonna album produced by Stuart and the PSB. I want Madonna to go high camp disco party next with drag fashion, big groovy beats and dance moves, hints of freestyle, acid music and Chicago house a la Roisin Murphy. I think it would only be the most obvious choice and progression for Madame X. Add Sufjan Stevens to this production team and it would be total bliss. This gay boy can dream big!

  3. And was way better as a tour music director too - Kevin Antunes is so lazy with his productions ?

  4. Burning Up. Even as a kid, I always felt drawn more to the songs Madonna wrote vs those written by others. Lucky Star and Burning Up were always more fun to listen to than Holiday or Borderline. Same thing with Angel and Into the Groove. I always preferred them over Material Girl or Dress You Up.

  7. I loved the relationship they had together, he took no crap from her but in a fun way. He would remix oldies with respect and understood fans would love to hear them. Was it not Confessions where he tried so hard to get her to sing Rain and she wouldn't. One of the best things he did though was Erotica/You Thrill Me. I'd never heard that song before and just fell in love with it. I always love the interaction in DWT near the end of Music when she goes up to him as he is playing.

  17. I don't really like the rap collaborators. Any time I think of a collaboration I always ask myself, is it necessary? Did it add anything to the song? Would the song be better / worse with just Madonna? In a case like Take a Bow, that particular collaboration worked and meshed well. With the modern era collaborators who are mostly rap / hip-hop, they don't feel necessary and seem forced. Every pop star uses the rent-a-rapper for a bridge in a song and it very rarely works.

  18. She’s an aging woman who won’t go quietly in the night. She won’t do a 7 minute greatest hits medley at the billboard awards. I love the fact she can still perform a new song (in full) at an awards show without having to do 3-4 older songs with it

  19. I see your point. I can't make an opinion since MX is the only tour I've attended. I hope so much she tours in the future, as I would love to attend each tour. I feel badly I missed her earlier tours. I know one thing: Even in the MX tour, and even if it's her worst tour, when Madonna stands in front of you on that stage it is an overwhelming feeling that will live within you forever.

  24. I agree that Chance The Rapper is great on Iconic, so good his performance is underrated, I actually became a fan of him via M probably would have skipped him. Everlast on the Waiting remix is a nice one too. The unreleased 2Pac version of IRBYL is so good, but I absolutely adore the Me’shell released version with her verse and bass playing (and the lesbian vibes of the released version, another underrated one). I love Quavo on Future. Swae Lee sounds beautiful all over Crave not just his verse. I actually love Kanye on The Beat Goes On, and I’m not a Kanye fan. I prefer GMAYL and BIM without Minaj, MIA, and LMFAO (wtf was she thinking, shoulda got Damon Albarn and the Gorillaz instead for that one IMO). I also was disappointed in the Missy Elliott (Crap Jeans and that Terrible remix) and Timbaland collaborations overall, and that somehow all three never made a song together. The classic, best M rap collaboration would, of course, have to be Jose & Luis. Introduce yourself.

  26. I love that he previewed tracks at clubs for Madonna and he treated her music with love and creativity. How he managed to make songs like Everybody and other classics sound modern versus whomever does her arrangements now. Would love to see The Thin White Duke remixes again for her singles.

  28. We have to (and she has to) stop wishing for a comeback. She's never going to be the biggest star in the world again. The 80's are gone, her 20's are gone, and neither are ever coming back. There are younger artists having their moment right now, just as she once did. Each generation has to have their own generation-defining artists. Madonna had her moments in 1985, 1990, 1996, 2000, etc. She is a legacy artist now. Let's just enjoy the niche art she puts out, like Madame X and the Madame X Tour, enjoy her back catalogue, and all grow old together

  30. Let's sit down guys cause this is going to take a while and i'm about to vent a bit: I was just watching Oprah's 1998 interview and then the Live Earth performance from 2007 for the first time in years...and i was thinking about how she looked like a completely different person back then. Not just physically, but her attitude as well. I also realized...it was the last time we saw old school Madonna on stage with no major cosmetic surgery and before the drama hit her marriage, before Hard Candy, before S&S tour and before she was considered to be "following trends instead of creating them" as people say. She was just...so cool and confident on that stage! Amazing vocals, dancing 100% of the time, choreo on point. That's who i fell in love with. A lot is said about how Guy Oseary taking over changed things...and even though i agree, it's also okay to point out how this was the point Madonna as a person changed, right? Am i alone in this? What do you guys think happened at the end of that marriage that shaped Madonna to being the person she is right now? She literally went from being an english housewife that writes children books and has a british accent to excessive plastic surgery, dating boytoys, an overall less secure person than before to the point she's not even comfortable on letting her ego share a talk show with other people. I mean...her Graham Norton show appearances even from 2012 to 2019 are night and day honestly. Career wise she always progressed in terms of ideas and you could feel an artistic evolution from her first album until American Life. Re-Invention Tour and the Confessions era was her "damage control" phase and worked for her. Why? She knew she had to deliver. Thinking only about herself and her artistic growth wouldn't get her anywhere and this IS a business after all. She was still modern, but doing 70's inspired disco music and that attracted multiple generations but everyone thought she was the coolest. i remember it so well. It was also the first Madonna era i was a fan of hers. My parents loved her, i was almost 18 and loved her. My cousins weren't even 10 and loved her. How did we go from this to wearing grillz, dating boy toys, that Drake kiss, Bitch I'm Madonna phase, whatever she did at that VMA award where she told that Aretha Franklin story that went nowhere while dressed like...that. Going completely unprepared to Eurovision. How bad her vocal preparation was for that and even the BB Awards performances, and most of all...how unprofessional she became? She was going through hell during S&S in 2008 and somehow she always kept it professional. Yes she could start a show like half an hour after its initial time...but nothing major. How did we go from that stadium tour to a theater tour that couldn't be worse organized, from that lottery program, to delayed shows at the start of the tour, then each city, then cancellations 3 hours before showtime, to Madonna saying she's being censored by the UK's curfew? Like...she's been performing there since the 80's. She always did her shows because she showed up on time. How can she not realize all this? I always loved her, and i think i always will...but Madonna since Eurovision has been even harder to be...likable, even as a diehard fan. Never in a million years i ever expected Madonna to perform to an audience of over 200 million people completely unprepared like that. Is she really living in such a bubble that she doesn't realize everything bad she's doing to her career? Has she been told so many times how great she is, she actually started to believe she was? She was always great at this business because she knew her strengths and lows...which right now...she doesn't. Speaking of which...i won't even mention the fact she went on doing a stadium tour in 2012 with basically album tracks (and hits completely changed from their original versions) from an album that didn't sell 2 million copies. Just 4 years before, she did a stadium tour and of course...she did hits. You NEED to know your audience. Somehow...she doesn't anymore. And yes she was always bitchy, sometimes cocky, always had a dry and sarcastic sense of humor, that's still there to this day. But she was always a pro. A hard working pro. And we could always count on her to deliver and she was always the best at doing that. Now she can still be...after waiting for hours...in venues with no AC on, after we stressed for months over lottery programs, canceled shows, reschedules, etc. We also started to witness her victimizing herself more and more. Yes ageism exists...but you can't blame everything on sexism, ageism, etc. Look how she handled the SEX era. Watch those interviews from back then. She outsmarted everyone by being witty and confident. Now she cries on instagram. What happened? What do you guys think about all this? And please, if you're pretending "this is the same madonna as always"...let's not fool ourselves. She's a totally different person and it's okay to admit. I love her and will always. That's why this is a bit hard to witness. Even harder to see her vocals being so amazing right now. Where was all that before Eurovision? Madame X album recordings (it's clear she had no vocal training before doing this record), etc? Do you think all we need is a better team? What's next for her? What do you still expect from Madonna?

  31. I think she should re-release Madame X and add a separate disc of the Fado versions of Like a Virgin, Secret, Don't Tell Me, Human Nature etc. That were played during the documentary and at the beginning of the shows. These would be amazing and avoid the Orchestral Album that others make.

  37. Burning Up (Single Version). This is the first song I heard from Madonna in my local radio station. I recorded the song in a cassette, but I lost the cassette. I even didn't know the artist name so I couldn't buy the single in 1983. In 1987 I bought "The first Album" and I was so happy when I re-discovered "Burning Up" in the album. Burning Up was a Madonna's song!!! I'm sorry, but I love these stories before to be a real fan.

  41. Of course she will never have hit singles BUT you only have to look at the recent popularity of Queen, Elton John and others to see that she can definitely make her mark on younger generations if she chooses to. I guess for her it probably seems like a sacrifice as she'd rather move forward onto new projects. It's up to her ultimately but I do think it will be a shame if future generations become less and less aware of her work.

    Madame X Tour | London

I am back home now. I cannot believe she made it through 12 London shows off 15 originally planned! She's a survivor and a warrior. No matter how many times we complain about her, she's the best and the sole reason the word icon can still be used today. Yes, she was frail when I saw her but radiant most of the time. Her golden hair hasn't changed a bit since S&S, the first time I could see her in person. She's petite and thin, her make up couldn't be better (thanks Aaron!). Her dancers are out of this world, too. Madonna's sense of humour can be misinterpreted at times but it's unbelievable fans don't get it, especially online For me, the Madame X experience has come to an end. I am looking forward to seeing what she does next. I hope you guys who are going to Paris enjoy it as much as I did! She's so worth it. Ps. Don't ever let those frigid twats ask you to sit down during the show! Well, maybe during the interludes, Extreme Occident, and Frozen

  45. My thoughts on the show last night! It's what everyone (read: no one) has been waiting for, the new kid on the forums with 3.5 posts under his belt is here to share his story! Pre-show We arrived at The London Palladium around 18.30 and there was already a long queue formed outside the theater. After only a minute or two they came to check our tickets while still in line and gave us our paper tickets. A minute after that a lady comes up to us and asks us if we were carrying any bags, we told her we weren't and she sent us right to the first security check, cutting a line of what felt like a 50-80 people. It felt correct. Me skipping the line: Everyone with a bag: The whole Yondr experience went surprisingly smooth. HUGE kudos to the people working at the Palladium and the Yondr ladies, they all worked very hard to make entering and leaving the theater as smooth as possible. As soon as we entered the Palladium we went straight to the bar which was practically empty, grabbed a glass of Champagne rosé (ding!) and watched as the place filled up for the next hour, it was a wonderfully relaxing and fun start to the evening. When showtime was nearing we headed to our seats and on our way we crossed paths with Tony and Aaron. It was nice seeing Tony up close, as he's a huge part of Madonna touring history. Taking a seat We were sat at the Royal balcony and we had a fantastic view of the stage, i couldn't believe how close it felt. When Madonnas pre-recorded message came on it all suddenly became so real: the show i've been waiting on for so many months was finally happening. This is my fifth time at a Madonna concert and before the show started one thing hit me: this is the first time i'm attending her show without having seen the whole thing on bootleg recordings beforehand. What a treat! It felt like a privilege to get to devour the experience without having to see it through the sea of a thousand phone screens. We were about to experience a place in time with Madonna that was exclusive to us as an audience. It felt intimate, it felt cozy, it felt special, it felt...like no other show i know of in 2020. Showtime Shortly after her message, Ahlamalik took position and as i suspected: we were getting the whole show. The typewriter intro is an amazing art piece in itself, it sets the tone and atmosphere for the rest of the show. The message of the James Baldwin quote is loud, clear and in need of being said out loud and repeated. When Madonna comes on stage i completely fucking lose my entire collection of marbles as the endorphins rush through my brain. As does the lovely woman sat next to me who screamed out Madonna's name as if she were a teenage girl at a Beatles concert. What a treat it was to be seated next to another superfan like her. I wonder if she's on here (blond British woman on row F in Royal, if you read this - holler!) The minimalist and scaled down staging made me feel closer to Madonna than i ever have before. It felt like i was attending a show in her living room. One reviewer described the show as "madonna bringing her huge arena show to the theater stage" and i honestly couldn't disagree more. Given how this is the closest she's ever been to her audience she could have easily chickened out and decided to hide behind a huge production. The fact that she did not made me realize how incredibly bold and brave of a move this show is for her. To top it all of she looks like she feels incredibly comfortable doing it. In one way the show is very unlike anything Madonna has ever done, but in another it's more of Madonna than we've ever seen before. The repeated message of artists being here to disturb the peace, to shake things up, to be radical and sometimes even make people uncomfortable makes me think of how unique of a performer Madonna really is. I can't think of any other current mainstream pop star who is as outspoken and uncensored as she has been throughout her entire career. It was in the moments of her loosely choreographed almost drunken steps of "Killers Who Are Partying" , the wild dancing and hugging her co-performers during "Batuka" and anthem like ending of "Come Alive" that i could see the passion she has for her record, her show, her art. As tattooed on her back during the MDNA tour the woman has NO FEAR. Sometimes it is easier to show your ass than your feeling. During yesterday's show her ass wasn't on display but her feelings sure were. Today I'm walking around town a proud life long fan with my new MX t-shirt on.

  46. Okay so just got home from London a few hours ago. I saw the 6th and 8th shows! The 6th was amazing, was sitting on upper section. So I saw the show from another POV. I paid £1 for the binoculars that were in front of the seat so I could see the details...Somehow it ended up in my pocket and all the way home to Sweden lol But, the 8th show was A M A Z I N G ! I mean the crowd was wild and she was in a great mood comparing to the 6th show where she rushed thru the whole show. But when I got to the venue with my own Chanel-eye patch, a guy inside the theatre with a badge saw me and asked me: "Oh wow nice eye-patch! I assume you're a big fan then?" and I answered "Yes! I am actually! I have royal circle so will be very close". He looked at me and smiled. He asked me: "Well there is actually 1 seat in the stalls left where a guy tried to sell the ticket thru ticketmaster and no one have bought it. It's row B so it's really close. Would you like it? We can't have an empty seat that close to M right?" and omg!! I smiled so hard and asked if he wanted me to pay for the ticket but he said that I got it for free. I asked if I had to get a new ticket-stamp from outside since they already signed mine but he said no. So I was sitting pretty close to Graham Norton during the beer-bitch moment. Amazing experience!!
