  1. Anyway while i agree with what's being said, I think this isn't the thread and we just need to relax and not criticize her too much right now. Not kick her while she's down lol. After the tour is over we can talk all day about everything that went wrong... for now I hope she can perform the rest of the shows without any more problems and hopefully with not so much pain, and then a lot of rest and clearing her head and getting healthy. And about cancellations I hope fans can be understanding and not take it out on her too much that she had to cancel due to injury, even if it's on the same day. I know it sucks though, but once it's done there's nothing that can change it. I wouldn't be mad if my show got cancelled over injury especially knowing beforehand that it might happen at any moment. So yeah!!!! that's it.

He might be able to make money, but as we are talking about music and art, and not a bank, I think it's obvious that we also judge his ability to promote his client and help her to make the right choices. It looks like he's not able to deal with Madonna's stubborness, while he should. And some choices they made (together?) to make money - gyms, clothing, perfumes - were not always succeful and were really embarassing for her image. Let's face it, she promoted MDNA line more than Madame X album. This imo is much sadder than doing a greatest hits tour or capitalizing on your legacy.

  4. i ve been reading 20 pages and all i see are the words mistakes and cancel the tour and she should ve done this, that. How are you defining a mistake to be honest? Compared to what, imaginary concepts you thought would work? Just chill guys, i really dont get u sometimes. She does what she does, whoever likes it, support and also sorry for those who got cancelled last minute.

  5. I think she would be doing better in the charts if she embraced her back catalog more, she should have performed more madame x songs on tv shows along with a classic but it's her pure stubbornness that has prevented this era to be more commercial anyway this is another debate. Hopefully she rests up now but I do have a feeling there will be a lot more cancellations I think the 3rd will go ahead she's rested and the last night but the 4 before the end could be in jeopardy again this is just my own humble opinion

Don't know why you guys always critisize Guy, tour or album sales If M hasn't been at the top of her game charts-wise in the past decade it was only due to 2 things: -ageism (fact) -lack of a powerful single (sorry that's a fact too) She still is an amazing artist with a legendary legacy and who cares about popularity after 4 decades of career? Guy isn't the reason behind every failure. The business is tough. She is a survivor, a warrior! To me the decision to keep on with the tour was hers and hers only! No one could have forced MADONNA to continue the tour on an injury, come on!

  8. I was supposed to be at tonight's show... I feel sad even though I had the chance to see her on the 22nd of February. I do hope she will feel better very soon. At this point, I feel bad for her, trying to keep on doing her shows. If she is not cancelling some of the last 5 shows, I hope everything will go well and that she will be able to take care of herself and come back soon. It won't be the same of course but I am looking forward to watch the Madame X show on Bluray.

Haunting... deep, cold, full of emotions... her face... eyes... very unique & timeless as you said. The fact that every single member of my family can agree to love & listen to this song by M! Lol!

  16. I remember hearing it on the radio for the first time in my car driving into London for a night out. I didn't even know it was her but the track was haunting in my car in the dark. I honestly thought for a minute it was an Irish woman singing ...and it was magical. I knew from that moment it was going to be huge ..

She sure does, and to think she is 72 is amazing! Sure she doesn't do wild dancing, but I am not expecting someone at 72 to do wild dancing!

  22. Yeah i think you are right. I looked at that pic so much that maybe i tried to convince myself... Obviously this is not her, no dark roots, no heavy eyebrows, no bracelets, no earrings, and the top and the gloves are not her style at all, and the hair color and lenght are right.

  26. His original idea was having lots of aerial views. Drone like, above the desert. And lots of figures coming from everywhere and turning into shapes and hundreds of Madonnas. Rotating and dancing. When the camera/drone was panning between them the shapes transform and break into pieces, creating birds, dogs etc..You can tell the concept of the ideas are in the video but not the magnitude and direction of it. I think the day of today this would me much easier to do with the technology and current tools. But at the time it was a bigger budget that what they wanted to spend on it. So he felt like it was'nt as impressive and wanted to try something more simple. But because they already spend the money on the morphing of the dog etc..they pushed him to use those images. He even said that the most part of the CGI was'nt finished.

  27. So sounds like she has torn her meniscus: A common injury in which forceful twisting causes certain tissue in the knee to tear. Treatable by a medical professional Requires a medical diagnosis Lab tests or imaging often required Medium-term: resolves within months A meniscus tear occurs in the rubbery knee cartilage that cushions the shinbone from the thighbone. The meniscus can tear with forceful twisting or rotation of the knee. Pain, swelling, stiffness and difficulty extending the knee are symptoms. Treatment includes rest, ice, pain relievers and physiotherapy. Less commonly, surgery may be required.

I was also impressed by Guy's absence in London (and Paris too, I believe). He didn't even post much during the tour. And during these difficult days you'd expect him to be there. But remember: WE KNOW NOTHING. We don't know who is really to blame about missing anniversary releases, about the impossible tour schedule with three shows in a row, about the lottery, about the wrong stage sizes. M could be a victim of her unprofessional team. But we also know she doesn't listen and is surrounded by to many yes men. From what she says, she is the one who decided to go on, against doctors' orders. I heard she also cares about her staff who wouldn't be paid if she stopped the tour. Don't get me wrong, but we know nothing about the gravity of the injury. We see her using a cane outside the theatre, but then we see her doing impressing movements two hours later. Until yesterday, many reviews said you can't see her suffering. I didn't notice it in London. The pain could be too much to do a show, but not necessarily too bad to need surgery. Do I have to think she is using strong painkillers? Will she have an operation? Let's face it, we don't know.

During the Lisbon run it was a mess with sudden cancellations, and a nightmare here in the forum with people saying she needed to stop the tour. Then during the London run everything went well: they cancelled the extra shows in advance and the rest went on as planned. The shows even started on time! Paris started with technical difficulties but I have the impression it would have been alright if it wasn't for the unexpected accident on Thursday. Yesterday we had signs that things were getting worse: the show was cut even if it was the first of two, all the reports said she was suffering and in bad mood. Today's cancellation doesn't come totally unexpected... If she wanted to cancel everything, she had a good "excuse" in the coronavirus spreading in France, today the Louvre Museum was closed. It's obvious she doesn't want to do that and won't explain what the real reasons are. I think she will try to do as many shows as she can (that's her declared intention: "I need to rest a few days so I can finish the tour"), but we have to expect more cancellations. If you are travelling from far and are afraid to lose time and money, think about it.

  34. Unforgivable is starting a tour with these ticket prices after such an injury taking place, before resting and recovering. Unforgivable is canceling shows when you already have people on a line waiting to see you. Or that lottery thing they did at the beginning. Or failing to know the measures of every single stage you have shows, so your fucking stage fits. You know...basic things that every act knows. Pulling a chair by mistake during a single show? Easily forgivable. The problems are not the chairs or the dancers on this tour. That's not the problem here. I also just realized this is the first tour being organized not solely by Live Nation but also by Guy Oseary's management as well. (Maverick) That explains the mess this has been. Speaking of Guy...where the hell is he? One of his biggest artists and supposedly a friend is literally killing herself on stage every night and he's nowhere in sight. I'm sure that mansion in Brazil or wherever the hell he's living is nice. Literally everything he has is thanks to this woman. And she lives in such a bubble that only her doesn't realize how much harm this past year has done for her entire career.

I agree. Part of me feels she should just cancel the rest of the shows. She could end up doing some permanent damage that she can't recover from. I know she must have good medical advice, but is she ignoring it because she feels she is a super woman? The older you get the harder it is to bounce back. She spent four years between tours not dancing and training, this would have had an impact and probably caused the injury. As you get older, especially for dancers, you need to be doing it (even just training) regularly, you can't take years off and then just jump back on stage. Now she is performing on that injury. It just can't be good for her. I do feel bad for those whose shows get cancelled, but she is seriously playing a dangerous game with her health and I don't think it is worth it.

  38. OMG, i love this - making me drool. 3 things that could make this perfect. 1. numbered box set 2. NOT random extra vinyl but very clear which extra vinyl comes in package. 3. 12" vinyl should not be a pic disc (sound quality is sub-par on these).

  40. Thank you, I think I read this years ago but didn't remember, so mostly it was different factors not just budget or Warner being controlling. I honestly think the video is great and maybe it's one of those things where constraints make for a better end product by accident... ?

I had a ticket for sunday’s show and I have one for tuesday. Le Parisien reports that Madonna had suffered torn ligaments in a knee. So it‘s doubtful that the tour goes on.

  43. I'm so sorry for Madonna and everyone who had tickets for tonight. I think her injuries are even worse now. It's going to harder for her to keep going. The Coronavirus issue has to be worrying her too especially with her kids traveling with her.

  44. For a moment I thought you were sharing the Get Over demo This should me sent to Guy... Why's it so hard to release? I can imagine Madonna's reaction: Didn't they get the Royal Box already? Why are they complaining?

  45. In the "Work of Director :Chris Cunningham" you can read and hear how he was so excited about working on the project but he wasn't happy with what they shot. Warner was so controlling of his ideas. To the point that he edited what they proposed without caring. He said his experience was totally the opposite doing Björk's ' All is full of love'

  47. Topics like this are hilarious. One's "decline in originality" is another's favourite and most creative thing ever. I often say to people who complain about "post Hard Candy" Madonna that perhaps you have just lost your interest in her naturally, which is fine, I used to love certain artists and then they just start to bore me for whatever reason. This probably happened to you with Madonna because Hard Candy just wasn't your taste and now everything is compared to Confessions etc (which I find to be some of her weakest and least creative work to date myself)... Madonnas entire life changed post 2007, she divorced, she was a single mother of young kids, she finished with a record company shed been with for decades, the pop landscape was changing and she was about to turn 50. Perhaps she just wants to enjoy life and not be as tied down to rules and convention or worry about who she is going to please or piss off? Hard Candy while being modern sounding at the time is also a complete 80s dance throw back album. It's probably in my top 3 favourite albums because It so seamlessly mixed old school cool with the new sound at the time, and Madonna was on top of her game yet again after the lacklustre grab at a hit that was Confessions. Sure, Confessions waa successful and I have a feeling that if MDNA/Rebel Heart/Madame X were also commercially successful, a lot of naysayers would be stating its her best work ever like they do with Confessions... just a thought. And any comment about her appearance or what she does or doesn't wear is embarrassing... she can do what she wants and who she wants, just like you can do the same. If you find it not to your taste, again, move on from Madonna and try Cyndi Lauper or someone of the same era to follow, it may work out better for you in the long run because Madonna's career from now on is going to be a very bumpy ride but I can't wait for it!
