I agree! I loved Medellin too. It was not what I was expecting at all, and guess it was a bit 'marmite' for some. It's not so much a song that sounds exactly like Hung Up, but something that evokes that sense of urgency to rush to the dance floor! Going a bit off topic, but I'm loving Dua Lipa's Physical at the moment and even Stupid Love has that energy. Maybe Madonna could move in to gay club for the next 4 years to get some inspiration! Ha ha!5 points -

Medellin was and still is for me uplifting energetic and fun. It seems I will never grow tired of that song, purely magical... But maybe only for me, the general public and many fans wants Hung Up again, because it was a magical + year-end era. You know that will never happen, it would be uplifting energetic and fun, but certainly not Hung Up again. And when you thing about it, if you compare to other pop artists, it's incredible how Madonna never repeats herself. Each single seems to be unique in her catalogue. That is also the kind of respect she has for herself, her art and her fans too. Always evolving to keep a real interest and be upgrading pop.4 points -

Oh the irony of people criticizing Madonna for having a point of view, saying she’s out of touch, when just a few, short weeks ago they were complaining about their show being cancelled! Boo hoo you. A concert that many of us paid hundreds, if not thousands of dollars/euros/pounds for - but that’s okay because all the terrible things going on in the world didn’t matter back then, as long we got to see our show! Now this virus is on our doorstep, and she, like everyone one else is scared and vulnerable, and yet people seem to forgot everything she did during the AIDS epidemic, and all the things she’s been doing quietly raising money, building schools, orphanages and hospitals for an impoverished and long-forgotten, African nation, ravaged by AIDS, over the last 2 decades! Was she out of touch with reality then, or maybe people just didn’t give a shit, because that wasn’t their problem? Just because she has hard-earned wealth and privilege, doesn’t mean she can’t be worried for her friends and family. It’s not just about her. I’m sure she has elderly relatives and that was the point she was making - coronavirus doesn’t care how wealthy, famous or celebrated you are. There are no barriers and there is no cure. No one is immune and being treated in a clean, private hospital or a dirty, public hospital won’t make any difference. Where you live and how many staff you have is utterly irrelevant. If you get it and you’re a certain age or have underlying health problems, then you’re at a higher risk of dying. That’s it. People should stop denouncing celebrities for their wealth and privilege because it’s utterly irrelevant. Saving the world is not Madonna’s problem, but fans on this forum should know far better than most, how much she has already done to help it.3 points -

I don't know if she's serious but a YES from me as long as she's IN the musical! But I have to admit, I'd rather her do a greatest hits tour next and some new songs to go with it. Adding: but I'm not picky. I'll take anything.2 points -

Debi Mazar do not agree with M (her bath speech)
Voguerista and one other reacted to LikeAMelody for a topic
Madonna was being philosophical but it's real for Debi right now. I do not think either is wrong because they said what they said from whatever they were experiencing at the moment. I am getting increasingly concerned about the virus in my position. I wish I could stay home. Like Madonna, I have been somewhat philosophical as well. As I saw people becoming more anxious and fearful and then having to isolate themselves I realized that practically everything I do is exactly what people are having a nervous breakdown over. I spent almost my whole life in isolation...watching everyone else have relationships and enjoying life. Isolating myself for a couple of months would be a cakewalk. My life is the same except for not going to cafes and not dog walking. I go straight to work and come straight home. It has somehow made me think that I am unselfish and stronger than I ever dreamed. I think that might be along the lines of what Madonna was getting at. I don't wish people to be unhappy but I could not help but think "welcome to my world; how does it feel?" People do not understand how some can be so sad yet they are separated from people for a couple of weeks and can't deal with it. I feel forced into isolation because I could never find anyone to unconditionally love me. I have made myself be alone but I never want to be. Anyway...I wanted to explain why I am defending Madonna so ardently on this one. I believe I have taken a bath with rose petals even in my first humble apartment. I was focused on her mood and her words. Everyone else is commenting on her looks, rose petals, she's sitting in a bathtub....2 points -

A rich woman, talking from her golden bath tube, about how the virus is equal for everyone... It may be equal, I can understand what she meant, but it can be bad recieved from the general public... after all people are dying without the option of saying goodbye to their families, music arenas are used as funeral homes, etc... Really sad and dangerous times to talk about poetry from your golden bath, even when her intention was good.2 points

I really think that Instagram has brought out a side of Madonna that I'd rather not see. She's posted a lot of things that I either disagree with outright, or felt that she knew better than to post (even if I did agree with her) because it was obvious that she'd receive backlash (like her n-word comment a few years ago for example). On the other hand, I kind of wish that she'd just stick with her decisions. It shouldn't matter if she gets backlash for a caption or image that she posts; she's usually been very unapologetic about things in the past anyway, so why delete them?2 points -

To get the inspiration you need to feel you can still enjoy her? How basic is that. What about doing another Confessions Tour? SORRY Madonna's done dance-pop music since the year 0 and already created everlasting hits that the whole world will still remember even after her death. The fact she's not doing these so called gay anthems that attract the masses doesn't mean she's lost it or she's less of an artist herself. Seriously, people if you don't feel happy with the current Madonna you might as well move on with your lives and start appreciating other artists if you feel like it. It's the healthiest you can do. Same for those that are longing for a stadium/arena tour. Not.gonna.happen.soon. Maybe never again.1 point

If it's a serious work with not cringy moments (as the Hello Suckers that someone mentioned above) then yes. But i would prefer a new era, a well done era, from vocals, production, promotion etc. MX had good production only. I would also like her to do songs for movies till the next era, Celine Dion did a song for a superhero movie and got 150+ million viewed song. She was doing regularly songs for movies till ~2008.1 point -

My feelings are kinda mixed. Many celebrities out there tell us to stay home, their home looking like some luxurious paradise compared to ours. I find it rather funny, not offensive. And she was absolutely right about the infection itself not discriminating, despite the difference it can make among people of various incomes. That said, she could indeed make some more useful posts. I mean when she wanted she made videos about using a beauty roller and applying day cream or whatever. She could talk about more practical things in her own sexy way. Be a little more humble so people can feel better, as they're doing the same things as Madonna right now. But the whole Madame X views the world from a third point of view thing might look a bit silly at this point. What's there to promote any more?1 point -

Yes Madonna it has made you equal to my parents, both over 60, one just fought leukemia and the other with Diabetes. They are so equal to you right now. My mother was almost forced to continue home visits to children or lose her job until I stepped in and threatened to sue. So so so equal Madonna. Anyone forcing you to go out and work right now? It has made the millions who have lost their jobs so equal. I'm betting you aren't too worried about your finances It has made the health care workers still working in hospitals with those infected so equal. Pretty sure you won't have to go to a hospital with the unwashed masses will you? You are every woman/man/child - You are like all of us. So equal, not priviledged at all. I'm betting you haven't had trouble finding food to eat, because I know I sure haven't had to ration food, I've been eating like a King You Madonna have insight into all of it. Well done. You are exactly what people need right now.1 point -

Madame X Tour | New York City
Mister_Pop reacted to groovyguy for a topic
So I finally saw the Madame X show last night. As titled, the show shares the journey and experiences of Madame X as well as the current state of the world we live in. Before I comment further on the show, I must say I absolutely love the pre show live music by the 4 member band, which performed several Madonna tracks - Secret, DTM, WTG, LAV. They sound brilliant. Seeing the show live - which is visually stunning - I can understand the songs selected for the setlist. Note: Don’t worry. I’m not gonna go through each performance in the setlist. She started the show literally with a bang - God Control. Then she performed Dark Ballet which ended with her being put into a round box space. It then seamlessly flowed in to Human Nature with her executing gorgeous choreography ala the Human Nature video. Those who thought her previous tours were too political might find offense in the first section alone which she throws in your face strong poignant political commentary. No one should take away our human rights and our right to live. We will not be silenced. We will speak and fight for our rights. Her PDP performance shows her stand against those trying to overthrow Roe Vs Wade and her fight for equal rights for women. She ended the section fittingly with American Life - “nothing is what it seems”. Side note: that AL bass is LIFE. The second section is exactly as she introduced to us - her life and new music inspiration and appreciation in Lisbon. Beginning with Fado music. This section is a massive hit if you love the Mx album and a sore miss if you’re not a fan of the album. That said, I find this section the most broadway-esque if that makes sense. The last section for me is about being freedom fighters craving for a brighter future despite obstacles and hardened people who want to take away our democracy. And she ended the show fading out with “We Will Rise” as she disappeared into the main exit of the theater behind the audience with her performers. To sum up, this is a dream show for me in that it is an intimate, highly choreographed yet spontaneous, visually stunning and artistic theatrical performance. Is it perfect? No. But its imperfections make it perfect for me if that makes any sense. Bitches, I absolutely love the show!1 point
