    The B-side: Pretender

I love this song actually I really appreciate the forgotten songs of LAV: Pretender, Stay (it should've been a single) and Over And Over. The original LDLHA is superb too. I'm gonna share my Pretender remixes collection in audio section.

  3. Let me take the topic back to its original content. MadameX Theatre Tour MUST have the following treatment: AUDIO must - put Mirwais in charge of the sound outcome. - sound like the IGTTYAS cd audio - have the essence of the Madame X album sonic wise, clear sound and good vocal production AUDIO must NOT: - sound like confessions live album - mixing was good but fitting for the genre as there was too much reverb / echo. - sound like S&S live, WORST vocal edits ever, MDNA live album, audio crap, bad mixing and dry sound. VIDEO must - like the instagram videos so far, seems to be a good recording of it so continue down that road - have a theatre feeling to it, meaning not really fast edits - have an intro of backstage, cut to backstage moments, m getting ready, like IGTTYAS style but without the documentary parts. glimpses of MadameX backstage. - have extra features and special backstage video, similar to the world of MadameX , doc style, approx 45 minutes. VIDEO must NOT: Have the horrendous edits of MDNA and RH visual. Everything else is acceptable, a cozy warm yet electronic/future feeling is more than welcome

About MDNA Tour, I will never forget what I heard from a person next to me while Madonna was singing Like a prayer. His friend said: Let's go, the show is almost ending! He said: of course, no, it's not ending. She's still hasn't sung the good ones.

    8 Years of MDNA

There are a lot of things I love about MDNA honestly. It sounds just like what I remember 2012 sounding like. Not much of it was ground breaking and some sounds are truly dated but the further from it we get, the better some things will get. The early 2010s was could be explained with MDNA if you think about it. All the cheesy cringing EDM pop found on this record could match some of the songs around it at the time. Only, MDNA could have had been much stronger with more care and devotion but this is what M let out the bag, baby Jesus on the stairs. Girl Gone Wild is very 80s M under EDM influence. Gang Bang and IDGA are an extremely angry M with harsh production. I’m Addicted and Superstar are actually highlights to me. Love the sounds and production. Love Spent defitnetly has not held up well in its album form and Some Girls is just super abrasive and cold but futuristic malt sleek. Some songs are not like it. I’m a Sinner is jsut fun and a blasphemous Catholic at her best. Beautiful Killer is a song I forget but it really is a beautiful track. Can’t really sing with a gun my mouth now can I? Masterpiece is the gem of all trades and my favorite ballad from her in the last decade or So. Best Friend is a cold ending but perhaps necessary. The end of Guy Ritchie and his influence musically.

  9. Come on! Everybody knows that Vogue is the best B-side from the 90... 80: Where's the party (Remix Edit). It's been 34 years and I still play this track like the first day. 90: Let Down Your Guard (Rough Mix Edit). "Bedtime Stories" is my less favorite era, but I love "Let Down Your Guard". 00: I love New York. My most favorite B-Side is Where's The Party.

Very interesting! Thank you. I didn't think about radio scanners. It's just mind blowing to think of the amount of stuff that some people have or that is in vaults and may never see the light of day, especially live shows. The amount of playback would be a disadvantage but the auto tune/effects are the ones that I can't stand. Listening to some of the Madame X recordings, particularly Medellin, there's so much echo and of course the sound of an actual live band is sad. Love Kim Wilde - I will need to go have a listen to that album! Thanks :-)

  11. I remember when someone asked M to sing How High acapella at one of the S&S shows and she said something like 'What? Wasn't that like a C-side?"
    2 points
  12. Yeah, Guy influenced the style of the video for "What It Feels Like For A Girl." which might have opened up that avenue. The song alone just sounds sad which is how she normally approached anger. So this video is a turning point. I do not count Die Another Day because of the film influence which is inescapable. Live to Tell has a pretty intense scene in it although she is not involved. Her anger in the 80's and 90's seemed to be expressed in a stubborn defiance or sadness. The only one that I can think of that is truly dominated by anger is "Thief of Hearts." "Express Yourself." for me stems from anger but she was able to turn that feeling into true empowerment and something wonderful which is why I love that song with all my heart. It's one of the reasons I love Madonna. In "Give It 2 Me" her defiance seems combative and "Revolver" she is fighting. MDNA has more than one really angry song but the last songs on the album are more in tune to her way of dealing with anger earlier on. In Love Spent she expresses her pain ever so bitterly but with overall sadness and Masterpiece and Falling Free feel very sad to me. I think she tried to recapture her talent for turning her anger into something positive with Living For Love and Iconic just to name two off of Rebel Heart. In Dark Ballet she is focused on other people's anger and what they have done or do but she is beautifully defiant in the song to where you feel the victum is the strong one and achieves something others can not even imagine. In Madame X she is again able to turn her feelings into empowering art.

You're so SO wrong. The only big reinventions of old hits she did during the MDNA were Hung Up and Like A Virgin. The rest of the oldies were pretty much similar to the versions included in The Immaculate Collection or album versions (like Human Nature and Vogue and even the extract of Papa Don't Preach which I didn't get to see cause she didn't sing it in Chile). Actually, most of the moaners on the Chilean press complained that the show included the same songs they had heard during Sticky (Human Nature, Vogue, Candy Shop, Like A Prayer, Spanish Lesson, etc.) so if the general crowd felt like that it was because it looked like they were listening to the same 'hits' previously performed in older tours. Even with a half-full setlist I had SO MUCH fun during MDNA. Give Me All Your Luvin's energy was out of this world and Vogue, OMG Vogue is ALWAYS iconic. Like A Prayer simply sublime even though she sang it with her 50ish crow voice

I suppose the only tour she's really done that's rammed with hits is Sticky, which is the closest we have ever gotten to a modern greatest hits tour... What a show that was <3

And I disagree... in my opinion The MDNA Tour, like many Madonna tours, is no exception and is NOT satured with hits. She gave the general public the following hits : Papa Don't Preach (1'30, not the whole song) Hung Up (a version that didn't give the Hung Up vibes AT ALL, very disppointing if you ask me) Express Yourself (YES!!) Open Your Heart (YES!!) Justify My Love (as a video interlude, with all new arrangements) Vogue (YES!!) Like A Virgin (in a totally different version, not the LAV vibes although I loved it) Like A Prayer (YES!!) So, if we are really honest about it, yes, there are some, but saturated with hits ? I wouldn't describe The MDNA tour like that.

some artists would kill for a record like MDNA tbh, I think I've read somewhere that Madonna's "worst" could be someone else's best

  28. I think Rebel Heart will become more and more my favorite as time goes on, I just wish it was mastered properly. MDNA is good, but it seems a bit frantic. I wish Mirwais shined through more on Madame X, his production seems to take a back seat to Mike Dean's production, but other than that its a welcome step forward again. MDNA-- B Rebel Heart-- A- Madame X-- A

  36. Bruce Baron was able to hear it via the library of congress. Opening intro as "I see danger up ahead", "Warning (echo), Warning (echo)". Chorus is "Warning I see danger up ahead. I can see it in your eyes, and it's really no surprise. Because, I can see your warning signs".

  38. I always thought the Madame X tour was going to be a musical / theater type show that would tell a story via her songs / back catalog I don't want her to do a musical because I have a feeling it would be cringey and eye rolling but I would like the idea of telling a story with her songs in a theatrical tour show

I absolutely agree with your points. I didn't like that they changed the audio on the "Bye Bye Baby" performance. It was just like the album vocal (telephone voice) before they changed it for the official release. A lot of sounds in Vogue are muted, too. Actually, I do have it somewhere in my archives. The DWT one, too.

Guys, here is the audio I recorded from the 3rd in Paris in AIFF. Sorry, it is distorted and there is a lot of bass. But hey, better than nothing, If anyone wants to split or try and fix the sound feel free. The banter in between songs is good on this one! https://drive.google.com/open?id=1OIGf7GgWetWR5HYadkhL4LZLrbFSVsfp And in mp3 https://drive.google.com/open?id=1OFYTb_wWPAa4tiEKJHA4JANTrw3Tcm8L
