  3. Please don’t answer for her or justify her actions. Who cares if she wears a mask or not. The point is she SHOWED UP. She is fighting for what she believes in. She’s doing the right thing. Look at the photos and videos. I see multiple people without masks. Get over it y’all. Spread love not hate.

  5. Congrats to Madonna for doing this. Social distancing? Well, I understand the risks of covid however now that the UK government woke up it is too late. I don't think it is good from a medical aspect not to wear a mask but she s Madonna and showing face is important + they all went through covid so they know they can recover again probably. Media have no right to drag Madonna when the potato head POTUS wouldnt even acknowledge the existence of COVID19 and that led to millions of infections and the UK president got sick himself and thousands of peopl , ignoring covid. Let's have some perspective here. Don't pull yourselves into the negativity of this, when you see bad press fight it, we owe that to her and to humans fighting to get rights that shouldve been given like to the rest of us. If they want COVID infections to stop, meaning protests to stop, provide human rights. simple as that. It is not fair on a momentum like this for the black community to have this perception .

  7. Oh please, London gave up any pretence of social distancing weeks ago. As did the UK government actually with people in positions of power who don't adhere to the very rules they imposed. If Cummings can go for a drive to "check if his eyesight is fine", M can go and do some protesting .

  8. I’m sorry but these protests at the moment in the UK are so damn disrespectful to the government guidelines we are in the middle of a pandemic and there are 2 meter distancing guidelines this is gonna push another peak and potentially damage the nhs we all want to see family members and can’t, we weren’t able to celebrate VE Day either, I just think it’s wrong and in no way am I saying black lives don’t matter it just seems a tricky time in the UK at the moment.

  9. I have mixed feeling about this, I'm 100% behind the issue and do not approve of any racism of any type.. :( All lives matter! But in the UK we are ''''NOT'''' supposed to be gathering in large numbers due to the virus :(

    Madame X Tour DVD

I'll never get over the fact that simply there was NO drummer in Madame X Tour. Also, I wish the band could be onstage with her. It was kinda weird to see the violinists all dolled up playing their instruments in some kind of basement behind/under the stage.

  13. It's funny. When I first heard Madonna was dressed up as a baton twirler for an "Express Yourself" performance for the MDNA tour, I cringed a little. As always, Madonna makes me eat the cringes I get. This was so cute and so fun. I loved how she added "Born This Way" in it too. What was your favorite or most memorable "Express Yourself" performance?

    Black Madonna?

I just remembered this interview for RS magazine 2009, she mentioned this shoot she did with SK for her Hard Candy album... till this day I’m wondering she did it or it was a concept/idea? Someone told me back then they did it & that the pics were mostly her on the ground. Anyone knows anything about this shoot? Glad they didn’t use or publish this shoot. https://jezebel.com/madonna-i-did-a-photo-shoot-with-steven-klein-and-i-5384938/amp

  15. OMG so proud of her. She doesnt just talk the talk or just sit behind her computer. Lets not get caught up in the mask thing. Let the media throw her under the bus for that. She is a true inspiration to me. Always fights for what she believes in and on crutches and all. Love just waking up and seeing this

  16. I'm afraid in the UK it'll be more than just 'the fear' of a second wave and more like anticipating when it'll happen. Judging by these protests and reports from crowds at beaches during the good weather, it's not looking good. That's not saying anything against the cause of these protests, the virus doesn't care how you feel or what colour you are - once it has the opportunity to transmit, it will. More chances to mutate, more chances to evade vaccination efforts, more chances to kill. Seems like the whole world has become indifferent.

  18. She really should be wearing a mask. I'm worried for her health.
    1 point
  19. Well it certainly isn’t setting a great example since nearly everyone around her is wearing a mask. Can’t she just wear one that says Madame X? Aside from this, I’m very happy and impressed with how peaceful the protests are (so far) in London and here in Toronto. So much passion.

  21. hope everyone who goes to protest stays safe. Black lives matter, now and always Also stay safe because we are in a PANDEMIC. Why is this not at the top of people's list of concerns? Like these marches are for black lives and they are organized in a way that efficiently spreads a deadly disease by gathering mass groups of people. wtf

  22. I wonder if the ‘oh fuck off’ in the video is directed at her? Why do I get the feeling she’ll get dragged for this somehow? It’s a no-win situation - you don’t post on social media and your accused of being complicit by your silence. Okay, so you post something and then your accused of virtue signalling to make yourself look good! Now she’s turned up at the protest and you just know they’ll be people calling her out for trying to make this all about her. Aye-aye-aye-aye... That said, I don’t agree with her being there. The hypocrisy of the UK media bullying Dominic Cummings for days on end when he broke lockdown, but now there are now thousands upon thousands of people taking to the streets across the world, risking a second spike of infection, when the rest of us are staying at home, maintaining social distance and doing our best to reduce the rate of infection. Where’s the condemnation from the media now? I’m not saying the protesters cause is not worthwhile or important. Of course it is, but now is not the time to be risking thousands more lives! Black lives matter, but Coronavirus is a far bigger problem for the entire world right now. Reducing the rate of infection by maintaining social distance should be everyone’s first priority, not these protests.

    Black Madonna?

FYI it was a lot cooler than this, she had bright red lips! Back then the album (or at least songs she had recorded) were very far from the finished commercial R&B product. It would have been a huge risk for her but I always wish she went with it - I mean I guess people got a small taste of what was on offer with tracks like 'ANIMAL' and 'INFINITY', it was seriously a much sombre tone.

    Black Madonna?

The photos do exist but only a small set of 'test shots' were completed. I can kind of understand the whole concept around the whole thing but, as is the standard with a lot of Madonna's ventures - the potential for misinterpretation on this one would have been huge. At the time it was nothing to do with any movement, just more to do with her liking the juxtaposition of Black Madonna. Her direction back then (early-mid 2007) went down like a lead balloon, though, and we eventually ended up with the heavily compromised juxtaposition of "hard vs. candy." She had some incredible ideas both musically and lyrically back then, and it's unfortunate that the corporate paper weight was placed on all of them.

    Black Madonna?

The pics do exist (or have existed), but i think (and i hope) they will never leak. They probably have destroyed them. I get where she wanted to go with that idea and actually that was a real interesting concept but something like 1,5 % of the world population would have got it, you know the black Madonna in the religious context. That concept was epic and tailored for her (Black Madonna, religious reference, rnb album...). If only the whole world was as cultivated as Madonna and her fans...

  37. I think the Daily Mail headline is clickbait-y and I don't think she's "blaming" Madonna at all. What I took from this was that she wanted to be like Madonna when she was a popstar because she looked up to her so much, but the difference was Billie was a teenager (15 when she started). This lead to her being oversexualized by the industry before she was even 18, and she's spoken in lengths about having traumatic experiences behind the scenes during those times. She's not blaming Madonna for that. She clearly doesn't having a problem expressing her sexuality as an adult, i.e. Secret Diary of a Call Girl, but it's different when record execs were pushing her, a teenage girl at the time, to be more sexual.
