Madonna is at the Black Lives Matter protest in London

Please don’t answer for her or justify her actions. Who cares if she wears a mask or not. The point is she SHOWED UP. She is fighting for what she believes in. She’s doing the right thing. Look at the photos and videos. I see multiple people without masks. Get over it y’all. Spread love not hate.5 points -
I didn't know she was on crutches. I really hope she's recovering well from everything. It's really nice that she went to a protest, and her IG posts are really nice. I don't wanna talk about the amount or quality of her activism during this week cos it would be really stupid and it's not an indication of anything, but for her fans to downplay the amount of real world activism, and the amount information and donations that black people and other poc have done on social media throughout the years and especially during this week, to elevate their pop queen fave as superior, is monumentally stupid and also malicious. She could never speak against racism the way people who experience racism can, don't forget that. As America and other places descend into fascism, coronavirus is a risk worth taking to protest - to you, it may not be urgent but no lives should be lost to senseless violence from the centuries-old pandemic called white supremacy, that some of us have lived with every day of our lives.4 points

Unfortunately, racism is alive and well across the UK and it also exists on an institutional level (recent example: https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2020/mar/21/windrush-institutional-racism-hostile-environment). Racially motivated attacks have also risen since Brexit (https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-48692863). It doesn't help that Boris Johnson, who's basically Trump with a thesaurus, has a long history of using racist language, calling Muslim women "letterboxes" etc (https://www.indy100.com/article/boris-johnson-racist-keir-starmer-pmqs-george-floyd-black-lives-matter-9546586).2 points

Perhaps they are more accepting but there is still a lot of racism in the uk, Europe, Australia, everywhere! Not just America. I have heard about it and witnessed it first hand countless times all around the world and I am white.2 points

Thank you. You said exactly what I think. Some Madonna fans seem to think the world revolves around Madonna. They also forget that all public figures are targets of scrutiny on social media not just Madonna. So whatever heat she faced recently is a drop in the ocean compared to the issue itself. Nobody outside of her fan base and some internet trolls really care about David’s dancing or whether she wore a mask or not. There are much bigger issues being discussed here.2 points

Madonna is fighting a good fight and I'm so proud of her for doing it,also in crutches to boot. But people getting bent out of shape are not realizing how vital it is to fight for these rights. Black people have been oppressed for centuries and they're over it and I don't blame them under any circumstances. Enough is enough and I stand with them. But it is gross that people are saying anything remotely related to "all lives matter". It's incredibly deflective of why these protests are happening to begin with. Black people are fed up with being killed for no reason and the police are making it worse by using force against the citizens they're supposed to protect and serve. ALL LIVES WON'T MATTER UNTIL BLACK LIVES MATTER.2 points -

She’s not wearing a mask because she’s already tested positive for the antibodies. Fine - except scientists already assume the virus will mutate, and they don’t yet know how long immunity may last. So until a vaccine is available, no one is immune. If she gets ill, she’ll only have herself to blame. I can’t believe she would put her children’s lives at risk. She’s done a fantastic job educating and raising awareness on Instagram over the last week. Far better than most celebrities and fair-weather social justice warriors, and I commend her for that. It’s obvious she cares, she clearly has a very deep understanding of the issues, and can point towards the solutions. However, standing in a crowd of thousands of people during a viral pandemic, in a country with the second highest death rate in the world, is so unbelievably dumb! She’s been led by anger and emotion, in a situation that requires cool heads and a rational response. She’s more intelligent than this. I truly hope she doesn’t live to regret her decision. As for the rest of the protestors who almost certainly haven’t been tested - I say, shame on them. Deafeating Coronavirus is far more important than protesting racism right now. I make no apologise if that’s not a politically correct thing to say, because coronavirus doesn’t care about institutionalised racism and police brutality. The whole world has been on lockdown to save everyone’s lives. People have given up their freedom. Some have lost their jobs; all for the greater good of humankind. These protesters think their anger elevates them above the law, and they’re putting all our lives at risk if the infection rate spikes again. The police won’t break up the protests because they know someone will inevitably get injured, it’ll get caught on social media, and then we’ll be right back where started! Every Thursday at 8pm, for weeks on end, the whole country applauded the UK’s national health service, thanking all the doctors and nurses for putting their lives at risk, to save ours. Many of those health care providers have died treating, protecting and caring for others. Their sacrifice will be in vain, if these protests create further infections. Coronavirus won’t go away just because people got bored of lockdown and turned their attention to another news story.2 points -

Congrats to Madonna for doing this. Social distancing? Well, I understand the risks of covid however now that the UK government woke up it is too late. I don't think it is good from a medical aspect not to wear a mask but she s Madonna and showing face is important + they all went through covid so they know they can recover again probably. Media have no right to drag Madonna when the potato head POTUS wouldnt even acknowledge the existence of COVID19 and that led to millions of infections and the UK president got sick himself and thousands of peopl , ignoring covid. Let's have some perspective here. Don't pull yourselves into the negativity of this, when you see bad press fight it, we owe that to her and to humans fighting to get rights that shouldve been given like to the rest of us. If they want COVID infections to stop, meaning protests to stop, provide human rights. simple as that. It is not fair on a momentum like this for the black community to have this perception .2 points -

FYI it was a lot cooler than this, she had bright red lips! Back then the album (or at least songs she had recorded) were very far from the finished commercial R&B product. It would have been a huge risk for her but I always wish she went with it - I mean I guess people got a small taste of what was on offer with tracks like 'ANIMAL' and 'INFINITY', it was seriously a much sombre tone.2 points -
God I love the sound of the live band in M's previous tours! It makes a drastic difference. I miss hearing live drums in her shows! T_T2 points

Yes shes tested positive for antibodies, that means she may have some immunity, its not proven, its not sure how long it may give you immunity if any. She may well still be a carrier and potentially give it to others. This is why she should wear a mask for those around her. I am in the UK and this is against what the government is asking. I think shes being totally irresponsible and somewhat naive. And people who have had covid 19 have then tested positive at a later time.1 point -

I’m actually really proud of her for doing this and literally walking the walk when it comes to her talking about equality. Even on crutches, out with the public, she didn’t have to be doing that but she did because she genuinely cares, and I really respect that. I only wish she had a mask on. Even if she thinks she’s had it and is now immune (which there’s no proof of it working like that) I’d still rather she didn’t risk it. I just want her to be safe. London has actually been quite far ahead of the rest of the country in terms of infections and the rates have dropped really low as of a couple of weeks ago, we had a bit of a head start with it here. But even still, with all these hundreds of people gathering I’d rather she was extra cautious.1 point -

I think it’s very unlikely those images were photographed. Most of the unreleased photos from that era were stolen from Steven Klein and leaked. They would have been all over the Internet by now. The concept is cool, but scrapping it was definitely a good idea given the fact that it would have been seen as black face.1 point -

Oh please, London gave up any pretence of social distancing weeks ago. As did the UK government actually with people in positions of power who don't adhere to the very rules they imposed. If Cummings can go for a drive to "check if his eyesight is fine", M can go and do some protesting .1 point -

Is it wrong to say that I really adore the Madame X Tour? Just from the clips Madonna posted on Instagram and a few audio recording leaks I listened to: 1. Her artistry shines so bright and they are sharp. It is like you are in a 18th Century painting. 2. The intimacy between her and her fans are adorable. Love the fact that she finally gets to be up close and personal with her fans. 3. THE OUTFITS! The Cabaret singer outfit and the Future outfit is a to - die - for! 4. Majority of the songs performed are from Madame X, which is personally her best album in years (2nd on my personal list with Erotica being the top girl.) 5. For a theater show, it really feels like you are watching a Broadway show. Madonna wanted to personify the album, Madame X, through giving it a bigger character with its set design and good tracklisting.1 point

Re-invention Tour Toronto - M spoke before Crazy For You, I think it may be on YouTube... sniffing and going “aaaaahh good ol Canadian Air” - meaning it’s smelled like pot LOL. I know the girls behind me smoked up a few times during the opening and throughout the show. She also said she didn’t want to leave, that we should stage a protest “We could stay here all night and I could do ALL of my songs!” “And they can TRY to arrest me again!” I think that was her last show in Toronto She also fell pretty bad in the catwalk during Music. All I remember hearing were gasps. Such a memory.1 point -
You know, if you were a bit more kinder with your words, weren't calling us names throughout, it might be a little bit easier to give you some room here with your claim, but all through this thread you are saying everyone else has been rude or insulting, when you have. I mean if you can't even see that you've done that, how can you expect someone to take you seriously with your claim. I'm done here! You've done nothing but argue about the most silliest thing, claiming we all have been rude to you, but all through your argument you've called us ignorant, blind, seeing out of our butts, brainless, and the list goes on. What a waste of time on your part when you could have at least argued your point much more effectively if you were much nicer about it, rather so focus on wanting to be right. If you read back, I was all willing to believe it could have been altered, but the more you insulted and berated us, the less effective you were.1 point
-
Sorry, it has nothing to do with "refusing to accept". Anyone who watches the version with the white corset (which actually if I recall it was more of an off white/pinkish), see's that white section you're pointing out. It doesn't overspill as much as the black does. The purple was not colorized.1 point
-
Pls dont insult me when you know I'm right, there is no way to get the exact movement, the exact posture, the exact backround at the exact time. But to color an undergarmet black, and pink corset purple, yeah, my 8 year old brother can do that. I feel a lack of logic here.1 point
-
Yes! Therefore, it was not digitally colored as suspected. You see her black undergarment throughout the time in her purple corset which in the white you do not!! So do you want to continue to insult our eyesight and brain function when you have just proven it wasn't digitally colored. I don't care for an apology, but you should at least apologize to @boytoy77because you belittle him just as well for trying to prove to you it wasn't colorized.1 point
-
Well, you're screen shot (with the arrow) on her chest is conveniently covering the black undergarnment, but anyone who plays the video at 1:07 to 1:10, comparing it to the other image you posted, shows that she isn't wearing black undergarment with the white corset one.1 point
-
Oh I know I am going to regret this,,,, but you've proved nothing. Look at @thelioncourtheart_'s video comparison. The other video; where she's wearing the purple corset, when she's standing at that point, you see the black undergarment coming out of her cleveage. Go back between the 1:07 t0 1:10 mark in the video he posted with the purple corset and you'll see the black undergarment popping out of her chest. It's the same similar movement as in your above pic, but it's not the same. Here I'll even post the video at the exact spot to prove to you: As you can see, you see black undergarment coming out of the top of her corset, but you don't see that in the above pic. If you watch the whole part on the platform, you can pretty much see the undergarment the whole time. Again, you do not see that in the other with the white corset.1 point
-
There's no joke there. You just furthered clarified you were insulting. LOL! All this talk about me being "rude", and look at you! Pot... Kettle... Black Much!!1 point
-
Once again you are losing your argument by continuing to be insulting, while not backing up any of your claims with proof! Studies? On this corset change of color? Are you joking? LOL! Yes, please show me the studies. I want to see these studies. Yes, prove my ignorance because this is the first I've heard of this. You can't just sit here and claim something is true over and over and hope your insulting tactics are going to prove something here. What's being "classy" got to do with this? I was making a point! You are obsessed with certain topics with very little matter, to the point you want to argue excessively over. Your posts in this thread within the last hour only prove this. You keep arguing about something that you can't even prove and anyone who asks you to prove it, you insult them as you have me and @boytoy77, over and over in this thread so far. I've been respectful with all my responses and have not insulted you once. I'm going to just bow out of this exhausting corset conversation with you. If that makes me unclassy" or "rude" for saying that, then so be it. I have nothing to prove here! You do!1 point
-
But wait? So you don't know either, yet insult anyone who challenges your claim? @boytoy77explains logically how it's possible. You keep insisting it's true, yet begging other people to verify it for you. If you're so damn sure, prove it. Again, this is such a silly argument. If that makes me rude for pointing this out, I'm sorry. It's just this isn't even what this topic began to be, and now you're insulting people with logic when you can't back up your own claim. If anyone is being rude it's you. You're the one calling people names, saying we have "unaltered eye sight and intact brain function" and saying we're watching with our "butts" rather our eyes? Neither one of us insulted you or used any such tactics to argue our points. But we're the ones being rude??1 point
-
Look dude, that has nothing to do with this. I was not rude. It's just how you chose to interpret it, since I refused to argue over something you obsess over. That happened several weeks ago. Today is today. Please check your drama at the door, before dragging other people into a private conversation that you're playing victim to. And you wonder why I blocked you from messaging me any further?1 point

Hi! I wanted to make something special for my DVD of the show (I'm trying to compile all the videos from Paris that I find on youtube) and this is my little contribution. I will make a "generic" CD cover too just in case anyone wants to print it and use it or just add it to his/her iTunes haha  Let me know what you guys think1 point
