  2. These comments and articles come from QAnons, Trump supporters from the far right, white supremacists...ALL celebrities who dared oppose their Agent Orange get the same comments....usually they also are anti masks, anti vaxers and anti BLM. Most of these comments also come from bot farms. I'm a journalist and i work on this subject (in France).

  4. If you find a bit more about the director Chris Cunningham you'll see is not much about Madonna but his work being really dark. Check Aphex Twin's: Come To daddy, or Windowlicker, Bjork: All is full of love or if you are brave : rubber Johnny. On comparison Froze is pretty mellow.

  7. If you play Like A Prayer backwards she sings "Hear us, Save us Satan" and on Justify My Love backwards she says "I love Satan". It was common knowledge at the time. Don't know about any of her other tracks having daft messages in though.

  8. I think she is still here. I am not sure about the whole comeback thing. The world seems to use that for every artist. The industry gets tired of people quickly so Madonna is more than fortunate to have garnered as much popularity and success as she has. Really, only a handful of people from the 80s to now are memorable or household names.

  9. But satanism is part of the imagery of catholicism. It always makes me laugh when people who reject religion use satanic artefacts and symbolism when it's part of the bible too. Without catholicism there's no satanism. It's the same bullshit from the same book. One can also use satanic symbolism just because it's arty same with using crosses or madonnas (pun) when you don't believe in god. The painters and illustrators whom depicted hell and the devil, created this imagery are the same who painted heaven and the whole catholic iconography. God and the devil both come from the same mind, like Harry Potter and Voldemort

  12. She's really embarrassing. She's overexposing herself in a very bad way. Very disappointing.

  13. I'm embarrassed by some of her Instagram posts if that answers your question. Most of them are harmless though unless they happen to be unintentionally offensive like the n-word ordeal from a few years ago. What bothers me a lot more is the fact that she went out protesting like a month ago without a mask.

  14. Answer the questions below for how you feel.... 1. I wish Madonna would get her albums mixed by Mark Stent again. 2. I would really like for her to revisit the kind of "unfinished" no-makeup-looks like the X-static process shoot and Reinvention backdrops. 3. Even though Im sick of hearing it live... if she did the choreo in the white cubes, wearing black latex... HUMAN NATURE 4. Mirwais, Stuart Price, William Orbit 5. TRUE. These times call for creativity.

  15. She’s a legend.... and a master of change and having an eye and ear for music, Video, dance, and art. So I’d never under estimate a comeback of any kind.

  18. Yeah but these kind of conspiracy theories happened way before Trump . As others have said, putting satanic imagery in her art doesn’t help. Even the Future performance in Isreal this past year didn’t help this subject matter either. What some people (who judge the worst on Madonna) never understand is that artists may create Music, performances and videos which have nothing to do with how they feel personally. They just create or tell a story much like an actor may do in a movie etc. Oh well

  19. I read somewhere Warner thought about suing Prince for the "Crystal Ball" compilation (most of the material technically was theirs) but they didn't in the end cause it wasn't worth it considering how many copies it sold. And yes, all Prince approved for the "Purple Rain" Deluxe Edition was the remaster, made in Paisley Park. That's why Warner didn't release anything until he passed away, and then they added all the unreleased tracks etc.

  20. 1. I wish Madonna would perform some hidden gems on her next tour. Like Rescue Me, Bedtime Stories album tracks, To Have And Not To Hold, Swim, Runaway Lover... But more so, I want her to be on top of her creativeness. Don't follow the trends in music. 2. What kind of look would you like to see Madonna do in the next era? I really enjoyed her short black hair for MX. Even though it was a wig, I wish she'd just cut all her hair off and go dark. 3. If Madonna were to perform one of her videos for an upcoming tour in the closest way she could, which video would you want it to be? Ghosttown or Human Nature. 4. My three favorite record producers for Madonna has been William Orbit, Stuart Price and Nelle Hooper. 5. True or False: Madonna will release a new album in the next two years. True hopefully.

  22. No, I don't think that's necessarily the case. There are deals in which the artists owns the recordings, and certainly own the copyright to the composition. Prince recorded lots of songs during his time with Warner that he later released, or re-recorded. A lot of his Crystal Ball album was recorded during the Warner years, and it was released in 1998, at the height of his feud with them. Then you have songs like "Extraloveable" which was recorded in 1983, then re-recorded and released in 2011 & 2013. Who knows what other ones there may be. Also, one commenter mentioned Prince participating in the remastering of Purple Rain before he died, and inferring that therefore he must've approved of the expanded edition. My opinion is that he did not approve. He did approve of the remastering of the album for it's 30th anniversary in 2014, but it still hadn't been released by the time he died in 2016. My assumption is that he was squabbling with Warner that whole time about expanding the album. I imagined they wanted to add bonus tracks and he only wanted to release a remaster, and probably insisted on it being of a certain technical quality that they wouldn't support. Remember when he did that Facebook AMA and the only question he answered was about sample rates?

  26. In that particular 2008 picture it looks as though M is relatively happy at that moment with the laughing smile - although Guy does seem to be doing his usual tight grasp on her arm. When I said 'this is how I picture these two together', I was thinking more of their physical appearance - and noting how much both of them have aged. Guy no longer looks much younger than M in 2020! And the difference that just 12 years can make. I've thought more about this over the past couple of days after reading through the recent TOAC thread. When M was married to Guy, she had some fantastic creative and commercial peaks. Of course, the marriage and Guy were not the only factors at this time, but I think that the 'structure' and the discipline that came with the marriage helped to keep M 'on-track', so-to-speak. I am not suggesting that M should have stayed married to Guy for the benefit of her career, but I think the marriage and 'family life' gave her an artistic and professional focus that has been lacking since (both on records and with life on the road). Speaking of TOAC, it is very revealing that M dug deep into the ROL, Music and AL albums. The focus on Music and AL in particular tells us that M holds a special place in her heart for these albums - and I would, therefore, suggest - those years of her life.

  27. She either doesn’t care or she does and she’s showing it regardless because that’s as real as you can be once you’ve gone down this road.

  28. She obviously doesn't care what people think about her "changes" otherwise she wouldn't get stuff done. I mean she is not blind. She sees what she looks like. She kind of reminds me of Sharon Osbourne now. Similiar structures.

  33. 1. I wish Madonna would let go of the horrible mixing/"live" choices of the past 3 tours. 2. What kind of look would you like to see Madonna do in the next era? Something more lose and not so much like a (under explored) character as Madame X was. 3. If Madonna were to perform one of her videos for an upcoming tour in the closest way she could, which video would you want it to be? Not much into that idea. 4. My three favorite record producers for Madonna has been Mirwais, Shep Pettibone and Patrick Leonard. 5. True or False: Madonna will release a new album in the next two years. True

  34. Great idea for a thread! 1. I wish Madonna would release the MX tour along with her entire tour catalogue for streaming on Netflix. It is an embarrassment to her legacy that her tour recordings aren't easily available for the world to watch. They're there (well most of them lol) but they definitely need more reach. Putting out her legacy of live performances out there would surely help future ticket sales and she definitely needs that. 2. What kind of look would you like to see Madonna do in the next era? More brown hair and fashion á la the 2019 UK vogue photo shoot but with a higher sense of over-the-top glamour and sparkle. 3. If Madonna were to perform one of her videos for an upcoming tour in the closest way she could, which video would you want it to be? Frozen. 4. My three favorite record producers for Madonna has been Stuart Price, Mirwais, William Orbit & Shep Pettibone. (I know you only asked for three but what are you gonna do about it?) 5. True or False: Madonna will release a new album in the next two years. I think so.

  35. Madonna hits started drying up when she stopped releasing physical CD singles. If these were available to buy online her fans would eat them up. It's a dumb move for a legacy act to stop selling these formatts. It's more money and better chart posiitions. She'll never gain the streaming ground she needs for a hit on her own without the sales too.

    Madonna Questionnaire!

    1. I really don't know. I can't say I've spent time thinking about what Madonna should or shouldn't do. 2. The look doesn't bother me if it's a decent album. 3. Dear Jessie. For a laugh. 4. I'd say Orbit got the best out of her. Also, whoever produced Burning Up and Gambler. Would've loved more of that sound in the 80s as well. 5. I don't really feel one way or the other if there's another album or not.

  37. 1. I wish Madonna would... keep being the pain in the ass she’s always been. 2. What kind of look would you like to see Madonna do in the next era? Softer, enough corsets and resting her chin on her pushed up boobs. 3. If Madonna were to perform one of her videos for an upcoming tour in the closest way she could, which video would you want it to be? Bad Girl 4. My three favorite record producers for Madonna have been: Steve Bray, Nellee Hooper, Mirwais 5. True or False: Madonna will release a new album in the next two years. True

  38. ...but also..do not underestimate that brilliance of couples with a large age gap. My partner if 14 yrs younger than me and honesty...it works better than any relationship I've ever known. Many men around my age were set in the ways / given up. If like me Madonna has a thirst for life, like we know she does, a younger partner is defo a good thing. The problem is these guys will probably want to start a family at some point so the relationship is finite. Another divorce with grown up kids Lourdes and Roccos age would be oerfect for her. Maybe someone in their mid 40's. Seeing her with Sean a while back felt ....right somehow. I always liked the rumour that she was dating that baseball player guy too. Until I saw he was married.

  39. I think the rumoured miscarriage around American Life era must have really devastated them both. I don't think it's uncommon for couples to feel like something between them has gone when something devastating like that happens. I have friends who have been in the same situation. Something breaks that you just can't fix.

  41. 1. I wish Madonna would embrace her legacy & release things from the past the are long overdue to show her true love for her fans. And also stop following trends stick with what works more like pure unabolished dance music & ballads like she can only deliver. And don't wait until you're gone to have things released like tours, outtakes, B-Rolls. And last, I wish M would write her autobiography! If she never does that it will be such a travesty to say the least!!! 2. What kind of look would you like to see Madonna do in the next era? Just keep it natural like ROL era or Music. She looked amazing during those times without even trying to. I'm getting tired of the usual over-sexed looks it has nothing to do with her age just prefer the simpler M. I second the Something To Remember/95 Testino Versace look. She was stunning!! Anything age appropriate would work I think. And PLEASE no more grills LOL! 3. If Madonna were to perform one of her videos for an upcoming tour in the closest way she could, which video would you want it to be? Tough one! I'd have to say Ghosttown also with the dance included! She kills it with that! 4. My three favorite record producers for Madonna has been William Orbit, Stuart Price & Mirwais 5. True or False: Madonna will release a new album in the next two years. I sure hope so! She needs to release another retrospective in the meantime though to celebrate all of the anniversaries going on as well. But I think she should do another full on non-stop dance record again COADF style! NO ONE can do that like Madonna could

  42. Its a masterpiece - the first time I heard it was on the radio when they interviewed her for Radio 1 and was blown away and knew it would be a huge record for her as it's so credible from a songwriting and production point of view I loved the performance on the Confessions tour the most I think it was the perfect choice to be the opening track on the Ray of Light album Also the BT & Sasha remix was epic too - so good

    Madonna Questionnaire!

    1. I wish she showed us her recording process more. Like how Truth or Dare but of her making an album! 2. It would be cool if she did like a really futuristic look. Like neon hair and she gets painted and dressed to look like a futuristic machine 3. American Life 4. Mirwais (Madame X is amazing!), Shep, and Stuart Price 5. True! It would be cool to see a rock album or like a futuristic electronica that would match the outfit I described

  45. This song was my least favorite of this album (i prefer more Frozen, Nothing Really Matters, Swim, Little Star and Has to Be), depiste i like this song. The opening and middle was very beautiful and incredible and i like the fact she used a different ambiance during the same song . But this is the ending then bother me. The ending aggressed my ears and this is desolate, because except the ending (the last 30 seconds), the song was very perfect and the text fit with the spirituallity of the singer about the time of her life. Depiste that, Ray of Light was my favorite album of her and also my best taste of tea when i listen many times this album.

  47. This has been decade I was actively involved and honestly each decade differs dramatically from the last. This decade was cumbersome for her more than the others. The 2000s showed what I’d call a decline musical risk from the albums where as her tours amped it up. The 10s show what I’d call M grasping everything around because we live in a market that’s so diverse but also shallow. I think wanting to take what was there and make something powerful like she had been but it just back fired each time to the public and some fans. But what I find this last decade was a Madonna really fighting. MDNA was meant to show off what M is made of. I don’t think it quite got to that but essence was there in the end. MDNA reminds me a lot of Like a Prayer in it trying to be risky but true to what was going on at the time. In the end, it was far too metallic in nature. Rebel Heart was a juxtaposition of two sides she tried using to make sense of all sources and influences. Again, I don’t think she succeeded in a balance, but it was defitnely warmer and more organic than the last two. In the end, the chaos makes sense and the incohesive tracklist becomes what being a Rebel Heart is about. The leaks really broke it and I believe it was the source what would be Madame X, trying to embrace more than the rebel or heart. I think her intentions really bled through this time, whether she showed it all or not. Madame X has a loose storyline and beautiful influences with tangeants here and there. Madame X showed that Madonna was still interest pop, art, and the world in general. I digress, so here goes my top ten songs of the 2010s: 1. Living for Love 2. Medellin 3. Masterpiece 4. Ghosttown 5. God Control 6. B*tch I’m Madonna 7. Crave 8. IDSIF 9. Girl Gone Wild 10. Beautiful Scars Honorable Mentions: Future, GMAYL, Devil Pray, Superstar, Holy Water, Beautiful Killer, Hold Tight, Body Shop, killers That Are Partying, I Rise, I’m Addicted PS. I just reread this and it sounds like I was drunk, but I promise I was just typing very fast.
