  1. Now WB just needs to fire Guy Oseary and have a PR team take complete control of her social media and we'll be good to go!

  2. It makes sense now why Warner Music did this the other day....

  4. I don't know if you guys are aware of this Instagram page, but I personally love it! It's incredible how this guy can find everything she has worn throughout her career and write such detailed posts.

  5. "Human Nature" wasn't a random exception! It seems we will be getting these drip-fed. Queen! https://open.spotify.com/album/4TOE2rwaoCsdIgtGlQmsnX?si=7ypxMSIzQhGA6Jrz76WZKg https://www.deezer.com/en/album/164977582

  6. True, I remember reading on a blog years ago that the album version was re-edited after she heard the 'Bette Davis Dub' by Goh Hotoda and they added the intro from that mix to the album version!

  7. Odd that this rumour goes around. Vogue appears in streaming and Madonna posts a pic on her Instagram about getting her first record deal and becoming a star with the old $35 dollars story. Something is happening.

  8. I just saw this interview with Daddy Kane about SEX book. The interviewer comments "As younger generations are not familiar with Madonna, let's say that back then she was as famous as Rihanna today". Is this a joke? They have no idea!! I think the change of label might have affected the attention to her legacy.

  9. I agree that alot of people were really glad she left Warner back in the day. But that was before we knew how bad things would get with Interscope. While the material has been great ( I LOVE Rebel Heart and Madame X), the lack of promo, distribution, singles has affected her musical legacy and presence in the public consciousness (Warner would have made Rebel Heart and God Control proper singles). And if going back to Warner means all this will improve and we may start to see expanded editions of her previous albums and unreleased material seeing the light of day, then I'm all for it. The recent release of her older maxis on digital platforms (Human Nature, Vogue) might be an indicator of things to come.

  10. Super Bowl because it happened before MDNA which was her most poorly received record. That album did a lot of damage. It wasn’t even a step down in quality compared to her previous records, it was a cliff edge.

  13. Its real and official, read it here : https://www.thesun.co.uk/tvandshowbiz/12344862/madonna-quits-record-label-interscope/ Im glad she left interscope! they never paid to promote her music, basically they buried and blocked her music from mainstream play all these years!!! good riddance!

  14. It really can't be a coincidence that they've randomly uploaded a trailer for an old film which opens with cartoon Madonna emerging from the WB logo.

  15. I think the last general praise she had was Super Bowl.

  16. I feel a new compilation next year and a greatest hits tour 2022 with all her singles in streaming in the next 12 months. Guy is back managing her full time, she’s left interscope, she’ finally doing a feature with the biggest pop girl on the world right now that could get her another hit in this decade, her songs are popping up on streaming and she’s on the mend physically. Maybe her “the look of love” Insta post that said “Today is the day” meant her rejoining Warner and leaving Interscope. “I can’t hardly wait to hold you, put my arms around you” lyrics from the songs, relate to reconnecting to a love you once knew. The lyrics even relate to sealing a deal with a kiss” I can hardly wait to hold you Feel my arms around you How long I have waited Waited just to love you Now that I have found you You've got the look of love It's on your face A look that time can't erase Baby be mine, tonight Let this be just the start of So many nights like this Let's take a lovers vow And seal it with a kiss I can hardly wait to hold you Feel my arms around you How long I have waited Waited just to love you Now that I have found you Don't ever go… She’s finally made it through the wilderness. Get ready for a renaissance girls.

  17. Its funny how before she left Warner 12 years ago everyone was like..."they don't know how to promote her anymore & she needs to leave!" Now people want her back on the label cuz "Interscope never knew how to promote her blah blah blah... & things were better at Warner" I wholeheartedly agree she should go back to Warner though. Its home for her. Here's to that being true & us getting some proper releases from her back catalog & some great new music!

  23. As things have gone pretty wrong in the past few years, any change is good for me. Live Nation is just a big machine for money and tours. Warner too, but at least with a great tradition in making records, they might have learned their mistakes and be ready to give M the attention she deserves. Just to give an example: My record shop used to give me Madonna promo posters and cardboards produced for the release of a new album for free, they haven't received any since she went to Universal.

  26. I hate Interscope, so this is a good thing. I'll never forgive them for the way they've handled Madonna's recent albums and certain other artists in the past.

  27. It's more than that. Madonna took Warner for granted sometimes and Warner perhaps underappreciated Madonna, too. There were well documented struggles with Maverick, which was her venture, and she no doubt bankrolled quite a lot of warners company. We can now painfully identify what she gave up a dozen years ago, but we now know that the music industry has shifted more toward the live experience (and away from the music) in the course of those years. The fact that Madonna went with the company whose priority was in the live performance aspect (Live Nation) shows that she knew the way to succeed as an artist in the current environment. And there’s something to be said, too, about the breach of the agreement, it was a 360 deal, and they promised her the music distribution channel, which they ultimately failed to deliver, as they outsourced that bit (and never measured up for her, because Interscope had no real incentive to deploy their full arsenal of resources for her) Not saying she made “the best” decision, and i'm also not saying her recording career hasn’t suffered loss owing to that choice. But we also wouldn’t know what touring would have looked like for her if she had stayed at Warner — it’s possible she may not have been able to do all she wanted on stage, to the quality and scale she wanted to, had she not had the Live Nation resources. Who can say at this point apart from the woman herself? The only question I want answered now is, can she recover any lost ground in terms of the legacy/back catalogue now? It is clear the charts/hits-chasing will end — perhaps she'll get one more lightning strike, but unlikely. Hopefully she can continue to create what she wants in the future and still celebrate the beloved projects of the past which fans would love to revisit (or fully discover for the first time, in some cases). Having some maxi singles uploaded to streaming is a step in the right direction

  29. "4 Minutes" was a monster hit in 2008 and one of the pop songs of that year, it was everywhere. A proper international hit and her last one so far. The "Sticky & Sweet Tour" was a huge success too. And then the Super Bowl in 2012. I know some fans don't like the "Hard Candy" era that much and have "Confessions" as her last peak, but let's not rewrite history...

  30. Apparently we have a music video too! But no M with DL... From MUndeground https://madonnaunderground.com/madonna-and-dua-lipa-didnt-meet-to-film-future-nostalgias-levitating-remix-video/ https://www.dailystar.co.uk/showbiz/madonna-dua-lipa-didnt-meet-22480374 Madonna was unable to film with Dua Lipa for their upcoming Levitating video – despite remixing the track and an extra day being added to the shoot, sources have told Daily Star Online Madonna may have remixed Dua Lipa’s new single Levitating and features on the track alongside Missy Elliot, but the Queen of Pop was less forthcoming when it comes to the song’s accompanying music video. According to insiders, Madonna and Dua were unable to film any scenes together due to hectic schedules. While more time was added to the shoot than initially planned, it is thought that Madonna and Dua never managed to meet on set. A source told Daily Star Online: “The track is set to be on the Wonder Woman 2 soundtrack as well as Dua’s remixed album – it’s the ultimate all female collaboration. “Dua filmed the remix video in June over a few days. “Madonna wasn’t available to take part initially despite filming being over multiple dates and locations but then plans changed and an extra shoot was added. “In the end M was able to film something but it wasn’t at the same time as Dua.” The source added: “Dua looks amazing, she’s rocking red hair and her boyfriend Anwar Hadid is in the video.” A rep for Madonna declined to comment.

  35. I’d say the Confessions era being Hung Up was such a hit. But, I think Madonna is still relevant....maybe not as much as the 80’s and into the 2000’s, but she still has that it factor and is a legend like Prince, Michael Jackson, Elvis etc. I‘d never consider her as being irrelevant as a touring artist especially. Great topic!

  36. I think a lot of it went down hill when she left Warner.. Liz Rosenberg retiring too.

  37. Not her fanbase but the GP in the world In the US, I would say up until 2003 with American Life and then she spent another 10 years of so, until 2012-2013, being semi relevant Outside the US, I would say until 2009, notice her worldwide album sales were still good until then and she was still having hit single after hit single outside the US until Celebration Thoughts?

  38. My thoughts exactly! Interscope did not give a rats ass about her. As a user stated above, she is their oldest artist.... They haven’t properly promoted any of her albums since she signed with them. I believe if she rejoins with Warner, we’ll start to get promo tours again and proper promotion. The last big promo tour she went on was for Hard Candy! MDNA legit had no performances/exposure besides the Super Bowl. Rebel Heart was the most promo heavy out of the Interscope decade and even that was kinda lackluster.

  42. Nah, she had massive success with Music and Confessions in the first half of the 2000s I think she was the second biggest selling female artist of the 2000s worldwide behind only Britney So if Beyonce, Christina, Pink were relevant during the 2000s, than so was Madonna as she outsold them that decade

  43. Since the question asked GENERAL PUBLIC and not the music industry or within the fan base, I'd say the 90s is when she was last seen relevant in the General Public
    2 points
  44. Yes she was still pretty relevant during HC. Then she left Warner's....

  45. A compilation album so soon? it’s been 11 years since Celebration. Follow the Kylie model of 13 months of reaffirming your legacy and then come back hard soon after with a big single in a genre you excel at. For context You Can Dance -88 Immaculate-90 STR -95 GHV2 -01 Remixed & Revisited -04 Celebration -09 We’re well over due a compilation. I do think the live albums have sorted filled that void for her though. But they’re shite these days. Madonna needs some good PR better than any pop star I can think of. Ok Maybe Kanye. Her legacy is something she should trade on to bolster her new era. We don’t need Confessions 2 but we do need some of that cutting fresh fun Music era energy desperately.

  46. I'd love it if she went back to Warner simply because it would mean that we'd (hopefully) finally get re-releases of old material, as well as single edits/remixes up on streaming.
