  9. Madonna being featured with Dua and Missy who are Warner artists on a song that's already creating hype. Warner following Madonna's social media the same day Interscope stops following her and deleted her from their website. Madonna posting "today is the day" without any explanation just days ago could mean she signed that day or she was finally free from Live Nation/Interscope. Bitch I'm Madonna from the Late Show randomly being uploaded on her YouTube. Vogue Remixes get added to streaming services. WTG trailer randomly being uploaded on her YouTube the same day the rumours start circulating with a giant WB logo on it is NOT a coincidence. She has to be back or at least some project is being formed.

  12. The Spice Girls musical Viva Forever was terrible! (Not as terrible as Desperately seeking Susan though) But the Spice songs were strong and everybody in the royal circle was dancing and having fun! But it was embarassingly badly written. Note that in 2009 I wrote a musical for my high school on the same subject - two girls who are best friends and go to Hollywood in search of fortune and fame - made with Nadonna songs, called Jump. The problem with the Cher Show is that it's hard to have a single actress do Cher and sing almost all her numbers, so they created three Chers and this doesn't always work imo although Stephanie Block was awesome: Alanis' songs are very deep and always tell a story, so they are good for a musical, but it was gard to wrap a story around all of them. There are good numbers though. The main character, Mary Jane, had an accident and is addicted to painkillers. Her husband sings to her "Mary Jane". One of the best moment is when MJ takes drugs and relives her day backwards, singing one of the new songs, "Smiling":

  13. Diablo Cody wrote the book for Jagged Little Pill musical. Now, as some of you know, I happen to be a musical theatre fan and also an amateur performer, director and writer, and also a great fan of Alanis since the day she signed with Maverick. So I was very excited about the project. The full show was leaked on Youtube last week (it has now been deleted), but I have to say I was a little disappointed by the plot. It's not not the best jukebox musical, it's definitely no Mamma mia. It's a bad copy of Next to normal. Some songs are great, other are forced in the plot, other forced the plot. Still I think there is a chance that M and Cody are not working on a screenplay but on a book for a musical, maybe a bio-musical like The Cher Show. In this case M would arrive late to the party, after Cher, Carole King, Donna Summer, Tina Turner. Yet her story could be very exciting and it would also give her and Warner a reason to promote her back catalogue. Let's hope M and her freak ideas don't take over!

I love it! and i love the fact that Madame X [because it's not simply M, she's in full Madame X persona, and i hope it continues to go on until the release of the Madame X Tour...] has a really prominent position and size on the cover!!! Do we know if it's gonna be released in physical format???.

  17. Sorry, but a biopic is not a good idea for me. despite both biographies 1.) bohemian rhapsody 2.) rocketman have won Oscars - they were (very) easily forgotten When I see Angela Bassett and I remember she played Tina Turner in a biopic - I am overwhelmed by an odd feeling. Besides its a bit suspicious when you direct a movie about yourself - it might sound as self-reference delusion. I have a feeling a biopic conveys greater credibility when someone else talks about you. Please, infinity's regulars dont be mad at me. Please.

  20. Warner absolutely aced the single choices on every one of the albums they did for her apart from American Life. The messy single choices from her Interscope days will forever haunt me. I’m positive Madonna made her interscope single choices and she rarely got them right. The last ten years have been painful. The irony is she left Warner over repeated single choice arguments and video budgets. Let’s hope the same arguments don’t resurface or that she concedes the the fact that she doesn’t always know what’s best to market her.

  23. The movie will no doubt be her story up to Blond Ambition at Wembley which is one of her most famous shows of all time. How do I know this? She’s talking about the Express Yourself outfit from Blond Ambition and Vogue was added to streaming sites yesterday. We will finally get the Blond Ambition Blu Ray once the movie is released. The promo all links up. Fingers crossed. I also feel like the crux of this movie will be more about her mother than pure ambition and the obvious story. List of songs that may feature in the movie. Promise To Try - Death of Mother Little Star - Her mother’s last words to her daughter What It Feels Like For A Girl - growing up with so many brothers / 60’s sexual revolution Oh Father / Papa Don’t Preach - Rebellious Teenager Keep It Together - Family life / leaving Michigan American Pie - Bus Journey to New York I Love New York - living in NY Hung Up & Deeper & Deeper - New York in the 70’s scene Live To Tell - maybe her sexual assault Burning Up - breakfast club / Emmy Crave - meeting Basquiat / missing home Everybody - Danceteria Scenes (the tape) Beautiful Stranger - meeting Jellybean Holiday - Breakthrough Hit Like A Virgin - MTV Girl Gone Wild - newspaper headlines Don’t Tell Me - addressing the controversy Bitch I’m Madonna - Megastar is born 4 Minutes / Music - Live aid Material Girl - Meeting Sean Crazy For You - Love Scene Hollywood & Into The Groove - DSS Dress You Up - First Tour ( Wanabees) True Blue - The wedding Give It 2 Me - montage success scene True Blue - Who’s That Girl era Causing A Commotion - the press intrusion poison penns The Look Of Love - marriage breakdown Like A Prayer - redemption arc begins Ray Of Light - Finding herself again after marriage Vogue - The Ball Scenes and connecting with her gay fanbase In This Life - the aids crisis / Keith Express Yourself - films last scenes recreating Blond Ambition Tour opening number. Rebel Heart - Closing Credits Just Send me the cheque M. ?

  24. So a biopic ... of her life... with songs from her career.... I smell a soundtrack.... I smell ..... a Greatest Hits Collection.... with a twist. It’s entirely possible that the biopic will feature some of M’s biggest hits...but it’s also very likely that she will chose to use personal favourites and more autobiographical songs from her own catalogue to illustrate certain scenes or moods. We could end up with an entirely unique one of best of Madonna that doesn’t just include the “hits”. This will be an interesting project on more than one level. Avicci Heart...it’s your time to shine ❤️

  33. Sources close to Madonna confirm to Billboard that the Queen of Pop is out of her deal with Interscope after nearly a decade. The iconic singer first inked a three-album deal with Interscope in 2011 at a base of $1 million per LP; with the release of Madame X in 2019, that three-album deal is up, and Madge is eying a new label to call home. While The Sun reports that Madonna is considering a return to Warner Music (which was known as Warner Bros. when she called it home for her series of albums released from 1983-2008), sources tell Billboard that she has not inked a new deal anywhere as of Saturday (Aug. 8) and any talks are in early stages. Warner Music declined to comment for this story. Madonna's three albums for Interscope include the Billboard 200 toppers MDNA (2012) and Madame X (2019), as well as the No. 2-peaking Rebel Heart (2015). "I think the most controversial thing I have ever done is to stick around," Madonna memorably declared at Billboard's 2016 Women In Music event, where she was named the Woman of the Year. Since then, the pop culture trailblazer has done more than just stick around. Whether delivering a blunt, controversial speech at the 2017 Women's March on Washington, D.C. or embarking on the logistically challenging but acclaimed series of intimate residencies for her Madame X Tour in 2019 (which was eventually scrapped due to the coronavirus pandemic), Madonna has continued to make headlines as an indelible part of the global pop culture discourse. On Aug. 14, Madonna reteams with Missy Elliott to hop on a remix of Dua Lipa's "Levitating." Madonna has 12 No. 1 hits on the Billboard Hot 100 and earlier this year earned her landmark 50th No. 1 hit on the Dance Club Songs chart.

  39. I agree it makes no sense to invest on a musical that is only filmed for streaming. Not a new musical. Hamilton and Once on this island have already been on stage. Whether it's a movie or a musical, between writing a screenplay or a book, it takes no less than two years until it's ready for production. For musicals it takes time to find financers, to do workshops, tryouts.... By then Broadway will be open, or we'll all be dead!

  43. I'm agree with what have been said already : in 2007 when she signed with Interscope, everybody was happy that she was leaving Warner, and now she's back at Warner, everybody is happy. Of course, the record company has some responsabilities in the success of an album. Warner did a great work on Music and Confessions for example. But we can't blame Interscope for all the negativity from the few last years. The violence in MDNA songs, the issues with her ass, or the disaster with the Madame X Tour (late starting) were not Interscope fault. Beside this, the lack of promo for these albums (MDNA, RH, MX) is the responsability of Interscope. I think she never wanted to leave Warner. But she wanted to earn money with Live Nation with huge tours, and probably that one of the conditions was to sign with Interscope. Now that Interscope / LN deal is over, coming back to Warner is her best decision, for at least 2 reasons : -they have her back catalog -it's the company who made her famous We don't know yet the details of the deal, but there is a possibility that Warner will buy the rights on MDNA, RH and Madame X, in order to secure the full catalog. I think we can expect an announcement in a few days, around her birthday, and around the release of the remix with Dua Lipa. Be ready for your money : I'm pretty sure that Warner will release many re-editions, box set, merchandising. If you look what they did recently with Prince, (ok he's dead, but it's very similar) you'll be shocked by the number of releases of Prince records since he's dead. Prince did almost the same in 2014 ; he came back to Warner 18 years after he left. (you should read this article : https://www.billboard.com/articles/news/6062423/prince-deal-with-warner-bros-new-album-coming ) Finally, I guess that, if she signs NOW in August 2020 with Warner, it's not for an new album in 2023. I'm pretty sure she'll release a new album in the end of 2021. And before that, there is a possibility that she'll release a best of (end of 2020 ?). I was already surprised that there was the remix with Dua Lupa. I mean, since about 10 years, she did not released any one shot single like she used to do in the 90's (This used to be, I'll remember...) So this is a very good news, and if you see all the buzz around the rumours ( Twitter / Instagram WB accounts...) the promo already started and they have something really planned.

  44. Remember when she visited her warehouse in LA a couple years ago and she was filming the Blond Ambition costumes and flipping through books that she saved throughout the years? I wonder if that was the start of all this screenplay business and she finally has everything gathered and organized.

  48. I just saw this interview with Daddy Kane about SEX book. The interviewer comments "As younger generations are not familiar with Madonna, let's say that back then she was as famous as Rihanna today". Is this a joke? They have no idea!! I think the change of label might have affected the attention to her legacy.
