Yes, but we still have the same problem, these masters are not the original, these master were made for vinyl. They can sound almost the japanese pressings but the problems are still there (Surface noise, high frequencies a little distorted, the tracking goes and going...) Anyway, with the japanese EQ the tracks sounds really OK: Open Your Heart (Dub) [With JP EQ]: [Hidden Content] Causing A Commotion (Yellow CD) [With JP EQ] [Hidden Content]4 points -

I think Secret is about her relationship with Ingrid tbh. A sexual and spiritual rebirth. Human Nature is pretty transparent. Love Tried To Welcome Me is supposedly about a prostitute. I don't think Madonna has too much affection for this album and referred to it as a Frankenstein album of two sounds no? Saying she doesn't want that situation to happen again. I adore this album because its such a great relaxing mood piece listen unlike anything else in her discography. But it sure felt tepid at the time. Very subdued, a weird whispery voice, some dodgy self reference, some insipid melodies and lyrically a bit duff in places. I don't think it's much more than the sound of a woman cocooning herself in mellow sounds of the time, ready to be born again a few years later with Ray Of Light3 points

I don't need to walk in their shoes. Maybe their youth was terrible, but that doesn't make them survivors nor immigrants. There's no such thing as "kinda immigrants and survivors", stop blindly defending every BS she posts on Instagram. I know that in this day and age, people consider themselves "survivors" for having been called a fat-ass in high-school, but it's a word that means a very, very precise and serious thing when used about people of Mr. Ciccone's generation, and it shouldn't be used lightly. And he ain't one. And he was not an immigrant, neither was her mother. They were American-born citizens, aka "Americans", period. They were never immigrants. Or maybe you consider EVERY American citizen that doesn't have Native-American blood as "immigrants"? If that's the case, refine your vocabulary, because that's not the word you're looking for either. As for you calling me "bitchy", keep your invectives to yourself. I don't need the opinion of an ignoramus about my character, thank you very much.2 points

Her grand parents, Sylvio/Tony's parents were migrants from Pacentro, Italy when they were in their late teens. They settled around Pittsburg in Pennsylvania. They were very unhappy. Madonna's grandfather was an alcoholic and so were many of her uncles. On her mother side they were from french Canada, Elsie was born in Michigan but her parents were fromCanada while her mother came from Chatam-Kent in Ontario, her father came from Sherbrooke in Quebec. The Fortin were more upbeat even though all the boys became alcoholics too hence why Madonna once said she comes from a long lineage of alcoholics. Makes you wonder why Sylvio wanted to make wine....2 points -

First, it's a R&B album. That says a lot already. Was she trying to cater to a certain audience with this album on purpose? It seems this album wasn't made for her core audience on purpose. Say freedom, brotherhood Justice, just say "yes" Say freedom, brotherhood Justice, just say "yes" Survival In this album feels like she's talking about white supremacy/dating a black men. Secret Her lover showed her a (secret) that she didn't realize until she met him, gave her different perspective on life that she will never forget. It showed her how different her life was and her upbringing from him. I'd Rather Be Your Lover Her lover was Tupac (I'd Rather Be Your Lover w/ Tupac) (hints the reason Tupac version never released) Don't Stop Inside Of Me (understanding the reason behind her mom Dying of breast cancer and accepting it) Human Nature "You didn't want to see life through my eyes I'm breaking all the rules I didn't make" what rule did she break? was it dating Tupac? Forbidden Love Love Tried To Welcome Me (Their relationship didn't work because of race issues, outside people not understanding their relationship) "Is it all worth fighting for? It all comes down to Who's black or white" by madonna Sanctuary (the cycle never stops) "Is all of this pain so necessary You are my sanctuary" Bedtime Story (letting logic go, what I know, it's to much to handle , im letting it go trying to let it go) what i know you can know as well if you just open your eyes. the whole world is sleep walking. Take A Bow "Hide behind your smile, all the world loves a clown" (Elusions under more elusions) She's never explaining again. Can you help me solve this puzzle? This is just a discussion.1 point

Face masks are required at JFK (and all USA airports) until sept. 13th as indicated on the TSA website linked below. I think some people in the USA not only don't realize we, poor european paesants, have vaccine widely available too (i'm having my second shot next week) but they don't even know the policy in their own country. https://www.tsa.gov/news/press/releases/2021/04/30/tsa-extends-face-mask-requirement-airports-and-throughout1 point -

Nop, both her parents were American citizens from birth. None of them were "Immigrants" or "survivors" as Madonna puts it. I actually find it rather insulting of her to use these terms, is regard to people from that generation who were *actual* survivors. Cheap trick, Madonna.1 point -

Human nature is about the media reaction to the erotica/sex era, She's not sorry and the whispered (would it help better if I were a man) shows the negative reactions were sexist as men were allowed to express their sexual fantasies. I kinda thought secret was about MMF three ways. A penis lies in your own hand?1 point

This release doesn’t really make sense. Why would they have a release that spans only through all the 80s singles and then have a few random 90s tracks? It would make more sense to just re-release the Japan Singles collection on 7” color vinyl. That’s very on par with what’s being done these days by other artists with great success.1 point -

It's clear a reference to ballroom culture and the dancefloor for the queer that need a place to feel safe and be themselves. I think we are so used to listen to it, we forget about it and just pick on :'Let your body move to the music' rather than "Trying to escape the pain of life that you know" You can't just remove the vogueing culture of the song. It's dance, its queer , its an anthem1 point -

We are talking about anthems here, it doesn't matter the sexuality of the one who did it, but it matters how the LGTBI community embraced it, and I think Vogue was the perfect empowering song of all of them.1 point

Single Reissues Campaign - Angel - OUT NOW
Nobody Knows Me reacted to BradleyPratt for a topic
I know the explanation for this but I can't remember where I read it sorry (might have been someone on here). Vogue's original mix was the single version (4:23). When the remixes were done, the intro of the Bette Davis Dub was so excellent that someone had the idea to make that the introduction to the song, and that became the album version (4:49) on I'm Breathless. So because the single mix came first, it's listed as "Vogue" in their databases, and I'm Breathless' version is the (longer) "Edit". Then they made it even longer on TIC a few months later (5:17). Someone please correct me if I have the wrong info1 point -
