Nope he wrote it, but you are the one making assumptions about his attitude towards Madonna and her work based on the fact that he is writing about one aspect of her career...and lets be honest Madonna has always been an extremely sexual human being.. and have always used sex in her videos, preformances etc.. why does it piss you that much of that he is writing about it??

Some remixes have a great new arranjment, but comes along with endeless instrumental parts or repeated verses. So sometimes they are tiring for listening in day by day or even more in a party with lots of people with different favorites singers and types of music. So it´s great to have a more enjoyable 4" lenght of a great version/remix with all her essencial elements. I´m not a native English speaker. I hope I made myself clear and gentle.

Yes, there's a new sound (or more emphasized) in the single version (also present in the Shep's Classic 12" and in the 7'' Instrumental). It's really subtle, but it's there (and in my opinion enhances the song in the same way that the "claps" enhaced "Open Your Heart" in the Remix). It's more a Single Mix than a pure edit from the album version.

I love that @EgoRodhas started this conversation. Are we talking official, radio edits ? Is this about remix edits, shorter versions of club stuff that was hardly made for airplay ? Fan edits ? Unofficial recreations of vinyl cuts ? It goes so far.

I don't know, Romanek & Cunningham used the video they made for her in their retrospective dvd's. I totally understand Mary Lambert because these videos are part of their directors art and portfolio as much as Madonna's. I can't wait to read Bobby Woods book about Propaganda films he said he wrote during quarantine. They produced all of Madonna's videos, commercials and Truth Or Dare (Paula even worked at Propaganda). The company was created by Woods and Fincher and de Mann & David Lynch put money in the company in the early 80's (Propaganda also produced the original Twin Peaks series). Propaganda shut down in 2003. Woods not only directed Deeper & Deeper and ran Propaganda but he was also the mastermind behind all Madonna's videos and visuals.

This. Literally the most unnecessary part of the show. Couldn't believe some fans were bummed when this was axed. It was cruise ship level production and choreography. I could have seen it replacing that first Portuguese song....forget what it was called. Where it was just her and an instrument at the front of the stage. A stripped back unplugged version would have been amazing. Future was also very out of place, though an amazing arrangement. Should have closed the first section after American Life, and Come Alive should have gone into a few hits towards the end, like Holiday, Music, Hung Up, etc. A few uplifting hits at the end to keep the casuals satisfied. Ah well.

The release date was already confirmed as October 8. But yeah, I see absolutely no logic on "focusing" on the documentary for the next three months, there's barely anything to promote

I understand that... and I am pretty sure that some western countries are censoring records... just giving my input on how I understand an edit... beased on my experiences where I live... and when I said to ShantiAshtangi that I agree... it was about my experience with edits where I live... not about ceonsorship in the western countires... as consorship does happen everywhere... and as said playlists is an exptemely good way of doing cnesorship and sorting records with the wrong words, the wrong message etc out... and lots of that happening everywhere all the time.

There are clean and dirty versions on songs that use profanity or swearing. Human Nature's 'Bitch' for example. Places like Target will sell records with clean versions. So there are not shorter versions, they are versions that removed original content that is considered offensive or not social acceptable. The term for that is censoring.

I do hope the estate does release stuff but doesn't overdo it for the sake of a payday like Whitney's estate does. The releases need to be tasteful and something that only adds to her legacy. So any and all things Candy Shop that are locked away in the vault can stay locked.

Was she supposed to have a full on promo tour performance with a live band and dancers and choreography when she ISN'T PROMOTING ANYTHING? What exactly is the problem?! Is taking over every single screen in Time Square/The Standard Hotels with a custom video for Pride while simultaneously performing on a bartop in a small club and then vogueing the night away with happy people not enough for you? Maybe the video should have been professionally edited by Jonas Ackerlund? For free? or should Madonna have just paid for it out of her pocket because she can afford it. Because YOU require more. Was it because she sang over her own vocal?? Because her tits were out? Because she didn't have her own TV special?? Because she sold Polaroids for charity which you can't afford? Like she said in an interview, I think she’s a sexual person but I don’t think she uses that to sell her music. I think her music sells because it’s good. And dismissing a woman’s talents because she can be sexual is so dated.

This is a little mith. I have 7'' with extended versions. For example Vogue has as B-Side the "Bette Davis Dub" and the running time is 7:24. But a song too long can affect the sound quality on the vinyl.

Yes Yes! That "Keep It Together " 7" mix (to me) is 100 times better than the album version. I haven't listened to the album version in years due the edit being far superior. In general I enjoy edits if there's something different to them and they aren't just a fade or cut and paste of an album version. There are some songs in their full length form that I can't stomach, so an edit is the only way for me to listen to them ("Holiday" being a good example of that).

I love the Edits because many times they are better than the album version. Many of you see the edits like a "censored version to fix a minimum time" and that is not true. Many edits give to the artist the possibility to "enhance" the original song, adding new instrumentation, removing repetitives or boring parts of the original song. Yes, some edits are awful (when the original creators are not involved) but the good ones are usually superior to the album version (Check "open your heart", "Like A Prayer", "Express Yourself", "Cherish" "Keep It Together", etc, etc, etc). And talking about the "Remix Edits", many remixes are too long and repetitives and they really need a "Edit" version. Another reason is because when you love so much a song, you want to get all the versions.

I collect official edits because when I love a song, I need to have all versions of it, but just like you, I like the full length deal.

If she continues these smaller venue theatre tours it might work now. As a poster mentioned above, it might seem a bit out of the way and she might have to sign agreements she might not like. She’s also never performed here in Nebraska. Don’t see that changing anytime soon.

100%. It's actually quite disrespectful of her. Someone who is always late: 1) Doesn't respect themselves 2) Doesn't respect anyone else. Hopefully this won't be included, because there's no way to frame this in a positive way for her.
