  1. Apology for what? Lol I stand by what I said. She didn't switch the subject and there was no reason to believe she wasn't talking about Madonna. Either the interview was really badly edited or the Blessed Madonna articulates just as clearly as Donald Trump. I don't know how you got that she was talking about Dua based off that interview alone, but congratulations.

  2. i always said DVD to refer all physical formats of a live release until Kylie released her 2018/19 tour on DVD only after us fans said "release Golden Tour DVD" non stop and she ended releasing just DVD (of course the lack of blu ray wasn't that but it felt cursed) ???

  6. Was just wondering about this and wether anyone has any more info. Her friend Martin Burgoyne did the art direction and according to various websites the album was already printed and pressed. I'm thrilled that they ended up changing the design to the iconic debut that we got but I wonder? Does anyone know of..or indeed has heard of anyone who has a copy of the original pressed album? I was also reading the notes for Lucky Star the single on Wiki and it said that Lucky Star was going to be the 3rd single release after her initial 2 single deal for Everybody / Burning Up, but Holiday was already being picked up and played in clubs and stuff. Weird that they actually released the album with no lead single..just plonked it out there months after Everybody and Burning Up had being released. Anyways the article said that she didn't want it as a single because she needed money and was being sued at the time. I wonder who by. Do we thing it was Reggie Lucas after she dropped him from the album sessions and bought Jellybean in. I wonder if those original copies of the pressed album contain the versions that Reggie worked on. Anyone got any more info. Find it fascinating.

    Madame X Tour DVD

Nah. Tears of Clown in 2016 was more Unplugged. It felt raw, and included storytelling.

  13. It's easier to say BLU-RAY (two syllables) than to say DVD (3 syllables). I don't blame people for using the wrong term, I blame their lack of education on the importance of using the correct words to communicate their thoughts. I encourage everyone to refer to WAV and FLAC files as MP3 going forward as it has a nice ring to it. Let's all just become stupid and use wrong terms going forward.

  14. That's exactly it. Madonna did not like the Edo Bertoglio cover (that looked a lot like what he did for another singer Cristina who passed away this year). In his book "Siren Song", Seymour Stein says that Madonna asked the art direction at Warner to not go with this cover and told Martin it was a decision made by the label Another version came from Michael Rosenblatt who was in charge of Madonna at the time, he thought she was not blonde enough on the pics. Warner US had no interest in Madonna at that time. She was in fact signed under WEA the european branch of Warner so she had no real support and hence why she did so much promo in Europe for Holiday. Warner started getting interested when Borderline exploded and the album sales went up. It's all in Seymour Stein's book.

    MET GALA 2021

After the 2020 Met Gala was postponed and eventually cancelled due to COVID-19, the Gala compensates by officially returning with not one but two Met Galas. US Weekly confirmed that the first will take place on Monday, September 13, 2021. Is Madonna going to attend this year? Any hint or news ? ?

  18. True, but it did have theatrical showings throughout Canada 1-2 weeks before the DVD was released. I don't think movie theatres would be showing it from a DVD. It was amazing to see on the big screen in Toronto.

  19. No. Most of the 20th century concerts released on Blu-ray were theatrical presentations originally. If it wasn't released in cinemas, then it's probably not that well known and not worth remastering in the eyes of the studio. Since none of Madonna's concerts was ever released in cinemas, I seriously doubt they will ever come to Blu-ray. The only exceptions to this that I've found are really popular artists like The Rolling Stones, whose non-theatrical concerts benefited by being shot on film. Most of Madonna's old shows were shot on video, so no HD. I've read that the Virgin Tour was shot on film, but too few people are gonna care about that one. It was fine, but one of her weaker tours. Mainly the hardcore would buy it, which isn't enough for the studio. We also don't know if the original materials are even still accessible and complete. Some people claim the whole Blonde Ambition show is still on film somewhere, but if it was ever going to be used, it would have happened already. It's very rare for shows to be released for the first time so long after they were filmed. Queen Rock Montreal for example, which the band member(s) produced partly because they weren't relevant anymore. I also am aware that Confessions was shot in HD, but again, not released in cinemas and not rock music, so it probably won't happen.

  20. I feel like the punctuation should’ve changed and it should’ve been a new paragraph as the question was a 2 parter.. the first bit was madonna related and the 2nd bit Dua related.. more than likely a remix of Dua and Elton.

  23. English is not my first language, but I could nevertheless make it clear that what she said did not mean Madonna. But looking at the people who were so excited and sarcastic about you who told the truth, I wonder why they are now closing their mouths.

  29. It’s incorrect to say DVD as that’s the name of a specific format. Its like calling a VHS tape a Beta or calling a Laserdisc a VCD. If people are going to talk about releases and formats they should use the proper terms. That’s all I’m saying.

  31. "HER" refers to Dua. I'm a Madonna superfan. I think that a lot of the driving force of that and part of the reason I related to her so much, especially as a kid, was because I was trying to work out a lot of the same stuff as a Catholic person. I really related to where she was coming from. She was certainly my gateway into dance music as much as anyone was, it felt amazing. <--- talking about Madonna I am forever grateful to HER for letting me be a part of that. <--- talking about being grateful to Dua for letting her remix a track with her icon, Madonna And that relationship has continued: I've actually just remixed something of hers. It’s a collaboration with someone else that's getting ready to come out. It’s a legendary duo…” <--- Back to talking about Dua

  33. Well the recent Prince box sets all come with DVD's or Blurays. So maybe we will get The Virgin Tour DVD included with a Like a Virgin boxset. Or Confessions Tour Bluray with a COADF boxset. I think these kind of limited collectors releases are more likely.

  34. No. As for this 'hating of her old songs' thing, I think fans take it all way too literally. First, she's not the only artist to feel that way about old songs. And two, she moved beyond that period where she really wasn't interested (around ROL). If she truly hated it all, she wouldn't do old songs in her tours, and they would probably be very different shows. She would have never done anything like Tears of a Clown. Or even Re-Invention. Clearly, she likes some songs better than others. And she's said multiple times that certain songs are just of a certain time that she feels silly just pulling them out without doing something to make them reflective and who/where she is today. I respect that, and it's given us some of her best live tour moments (that very few of her peers/followers even bother to attempt...or could). As for remasters, box sets, anniversary re-issues, etc...yeah, we'd all love it. But clearly she's not interested in milking that part of her career...yet. She probably feels that stuff can be done later, and I don't blame her (though I'd love it now just as much as any fan). Personally, I think it would make sense to start doing those things into her mid-to-later 70s, probably once large-scale touring finally stops, and she moves on to other creative endeavors/life/etc. As for now, she's a contemporary artist working 'in the now' (as she always has), and she sees herself that way. I don't see that changing for at least a good ten more years or so. That being said, around the time of the biopic release, it may be a good time to do a 'legacy' era of some sort.
