It has to be said...There's problematic undertones to some fans being vehemently repulsed by the idea of Madonna working with rappers. I have seen these type of comments not only on forums but on her Facebook page as well. The Swae Lee criticism is particularly ironic because "Crave" is one of the poppiest songs from Madame X but I guess some people assume that a black collaborator = a "rap" song. The truth is that Madonna has never made a hip-hop record but she has always been heavily influenced by black artists and their sound, from Madonna and Like A Virgin to Bedtime Stories and Hard Candy. Obviously you don't have to applaud everything she does but you would think that Madonna fans should be a little more open-minded by now, no? She used to be celebrated for her reinventions and versatility but as of lately, I have seen more and more fans that want her to remain stagnant, to the point of going back to her past (white) producers. And while I would totally be on board with another "Hung Up" or "Like A Prayer" sized hit, the Facebook comments implying that rap music is apparently beneath her do rub me the wrong way and they could be construed as racial microagressions. Anyway, on a brighter note, 2022 is shaping up to be a good year for Madonna fans. 40th career anniversary, new music, new biopic and the long-awaited reissues. Fingers crossed for more good things to come.

She's in the studio with fucking sawg lee of all people instead of being there with Patrick Leonard, Stuart Price or William Orbit. My excitement is at -200%, not here for an auto-tuned, grills-vocaled rap track.

I dont think a lot of fans care because they see swae lee and jozzy and think we are getting a rap track lol if it was stuart price im sure it would be getting a lot more attention - i cant help but wonder its frozen turned into a duet and it will be part of a deluxe edition of ray of light

21 years of being one of the world's biggest Madonna megafans... and it's the first time in my 28 years of existence that I felt this overwhelming indifference about Madonna - The Post-Pandemic Madonna (2021 Bionic Filtered Madonna especially). This feeling started since after the release of Madame X Tour film. I hope I eat my words soon and she wins me and the world over again, but this year, man IDK. Hope she'll continue to be happy and healthy though!

I'M SO EXCITED New music is exacly what I was expecting from her. Maybe it's just something for the New Years Eve, but I hope she gets excited for a new album. I miss the days when she worked on an album for six months and then release it already. Like Music being out only 2 years after ROL, and AL 2 years after DWT. Things don't need always to take ages. She don't need to make a tour for every album. I think an album BEFORE the biopic would be perfect. I suspect when an artist release a movie and album at the same time, that usually means bad promo. That reminds me of Bionic/Burlesque by Christina Aguilera, released together so quickly and forgotten fast. I hope whatever is in store for us, turns out to be great. We deserve a nice 40th career anniversary. A gay can dream, right? LOL

Funny thing is Crave is such a fine (acoustic / pop) song and not even the "mumble trap autotuned shit" many fans try to make it seem, and Swae isn't even really rapping in it but more singing, which makes these comments even more invalid, as he was singing in Crave and not even rapping, but people here are expecting a trap album because of his presence in the studio LOL gotta love them!

I would imagine that the sequence of events went like this: Sickic submitted his final version and then Lauren got involved to record some new vocals from Madonna and Swae Lee, and now Mike Dean is mixing and mastering. If it's just for the Frozen remix, she probably just spent a couple of days on it before sending to the label before they closed for the holidays. Exciting fan times ahead for 2022.

M's team posted on her Facebook they'd wrapped up 2021 with the Express Yourself/Deeper & Deeper thing last week when they did their look back at the year. They did promise the Take A Bow HD video next month though, so that's probably going to be next.

This forum lately is a dicussion about how bad is her instagram, but when she releases new material like the Madame Xtra, Frozen remix, or the BBC UK special, nobody cares. It's sad actually, Elton John fans are really happy that he's charting with Dua Lipa and everyone praise him on his forums. Basically people here are waiting for: Confessions 2, Greatest hits tour, Ray of light 2, Like a prayer remastered. Nothing more.
