Its really not very complicated. Madonna once had the world at her fingers, she was once the most powerful and influential woman on earth, she was so much more than just another popular celebrity. She is addicted to attention and power, she herself has said this on many occasions as far back as the 80's with conquering the world and stuff like that. Now, she is irrelevant in the mainstreams eyes and uses her social media as a way to court controversy to fuel her egotism. Pushing peoples buttons is the only type of power she still has these days, Her social media is a vanity project, she has become a prisoner of the power she used to have. Ambitious people like her suffer from extreme boredom and her social media is just a tool to try and combat this. Her children seem to be the only ones she is truly close to anymore, her boyfriend is nothing but a young sex toy and her circle consists of nothing but handlers. I also have a very strong suspicion she is using drugs right now, I have seen her talk about needing a hit in interviews and on her socials, her boyfriend got her into that I bet. This post is gonna trigger some people but you asked for reality and I gave it??

She's bored because nobody is paying attention to her. She only exists if she has a camera on her...otherwise her ego disappears. She used to be Midas, everything she touched turned to gold, now she is a prisoner of her own fame and fortune, a vampire desperate to get her youth back.... She needs to get out of her bathroom and out of her mirror, and get away from the kiss-asses around her.

I never understood the criticism. She's not a classically-trained vocal powerhouse but I don't think you need vocal acrobatics to deliver a great recording, especially in popular music. Madonna's voice is feminine, sexy, energetic and full of personality - a match made in pop heaven. Not to mention she had perfect diction (before the grills). Also, she's an incredibly versatile performer. Just listen to "Material Girl", "Papa Don't Preach", "Justify My Love" and "Don't Cry For Me Argentina". They are all so radically different from one another musically and thematically, that it's crazy to think they're from the same artist but Madonna sells those songs with such conviction that you believe in the characters she's portraying. Now imagine a technically superior singer like Patti LuPone trying to pull off "Erotica" or "Like A Virgin" convincingly...Madonna's chameleon-like ability to successfully adapt her voice to almost any music genre proves that in fact, she does have the range, lol.

Madonna always seems to be much happier when she is inspired, I just wish she would let up on the whole dominatrix warrior persona a bit

Sorry, but I don't agree. At all. Her social media feed is classic Madonna. Ironic, irreverent, stunning at times, shocking at times, and messy at times. The ride I've been on and witnessed for nearly my entire life observing this woman. The only difference now is that of technology, accessibility...and age. I think Madame X is a fantastic return-to-form. An unbelievably refreshing, brave, diverse, thought-provoking, and experimental work that very few, if any, "pop stars" are doing nearly 4 decades into a pop career. I doubt you will ever see any of these other acts attempt such, if they even last that long. Mark my words. Also, no one single person can speak for the singular perception of the general public. Considering how social media has affected how we perceive things, I think we engage in far more projection than we realize. That's why I don't make claims like "she's self-destructing" or "she's a joke", etc., as I believe those sorts of things say far more about us, and how we individually perceive her, than what is probably actually happening behind closed doors, in reality. Those are my feelings. Take care.

She could snap her fingers and walk in ANY fashion runway show she wanted. She has basically worked with ANYONE who's ANYONE that was popular in the last 10 years. in my opinion she is a great studio vocalist and her vocals work great for both the dance tracks and the ballads. The problem are the live vocals, that's why she got the bad reputation. Fans sometimes say she is "average" at worst, but to be perfectly honest, I'm struggling to think of many vocalist with that many vocal missteps. There are hundreds of much better vocalists, and maybe only a few who are worse, or even equal, so this would make M below average.

Grown adults getting into a tizzy about what some teenager talks to their friends about on social media is not a cute look either though, a little perspective folks...it's not scary, nor worthy of hysterics, it's fairly normal (alas). They'll learn in time...if they're lucky.

That would require a bunch of vocal training which she does not want to do right now its one reason she uses so much autotune now. The last time her voice was truly great was Ray of Light. I saw her on the Confessions Tour and even then her vocals had declined significantly from the late 90's. Now it is much worse, Eurovision and the Harlem performance prove that.

I think I understand what the poster is saying. Before Hard Candy, or at least before she joined all the social media platforms when you brought up Madonna in conversations people used to have quite positive things to say about her, except if they really didn't like her music, hey tastes are different. But these days when you mention her it seems like reactions are more negative. They either say her music hasn't been good in years (either they really don't like it or they haven't even listened to let's say Rebel Heart and Madame X simply because her new stuff isn't being played on the radio etc.), or that she looks like she has been under the knife/uses too many fillers, or that her PR stunts are embarrassing and not provocative or (I know this from personal experience) they mention her Eurovision performance and say how awful it was because that's pretty much the last time they noticed her. Many people have positive memories of her older stuff but are just irritated by how she is now.

MXT film is amazing! Living in south america, I was only able to see in Paramount plus, it worth waiting. She really seems to be enjoying herself.

I love Madonna on Letterman, they have some great chemistry. You are right about her marriage to Guy, something changed in her big time after that.

She's just playing with the reactions.Social media especially and mostly Instagram are fake. Everything is false so she's playing with it. Her persona on Insta is like an avatar.

Her live vocals are horrendus, it seems that she stopped caring about her voice, she sounds worse and worse through time, now she sings with auto-tune, which makes her sound even worst.

For me MDNA, Rebel Heart and Madame X are very dark eras, despite we had some bits of fun on them. Dark albums, for dark times. Madame X seems a prediction of all what came after the release. We live in a hopeless time, and she's just moving forward like everyone do. It will be better if she reduces a little what she posts, to be honest I'm already tired of Insta and the feeling that u need to know what all your contacts are doing ALWAYS 24 / 7. I've deleted my app, for a time, and I don't miss it, and I don't miss to see every day of Madonna's posts (as I don't miss posting anything or watching what my friends, other business do). BUT, I can't live one day without her music or her videos. For me that's the only important thing, and the only thing that will remain after all. Facebook is not popular anymore and one day it will dissapear, as Instagram will do. But art can't be deleted.

If she releases a standout song everything would be different, for sure. And well sung, of course. She used to be terrific with the vocals, now she does not care.

Instagram is full of influencers flaunting their wealthy lifestyle and promoting unrealistic beauty standards, but that's exactly why it's so popular. Most people don't want "real", they want an inside scoop into the glamorous lives of the rich and famous. It's all an illusion. And of course she wants attention, she's a pop(ular) star. I mean, she has said so herself recently during the 50 Cent debacle. Anyone implying that she must have some type of problem because she posts filtered photos is misguided. Nobody posts unflattering photos of themselves on the Internet, no matter how confident they might be, and she's not forced to tone down her sexuality just because she's 63. Her Instagram stats have been improving since she hired a professional photographer to curate her page, and personally, I find it more visually appealing than the bad-lighting selfies she used to post during the Rebel Heart era. Damned if you do, damned if you don't. You can't please everyone.

Am I the only one here who thinks that Madonna should go back to dark hair again? she looks so gorgeous with it and it makes her appear more sophisticated and exotic than the bleached blonde. I was floored how pretty she looked when I saw her in the blue outfit with dark hair on her Madame X Tour

I dont think she is using drugs but i do think she got fond of pain killers when she had a bad hip and prob still takes them , i also think she was on steroids for her recovery and this caused her weightgain well this and not being able to work out - i dont think she smokes weed and i dont like the fact mike dean blows it all over her in the studio - yes he may need it to be creative but dont blow it on her when she is working lol i always wonder if she was a little stoned due to passive weed smoking during her eurovision performance lol

Nah i really think she just enjoys pissing people off including her fans , touching up her face in edits is her new grills lol it seems to be really grinding the gears of people too ...there is no way that ass pic under the bed was her being serious and messing about with photoshop , i dont think its insecurity as much as some fans would think or hope , its not she would not do tv interviews if it was or appear at gigs etc etc - i mean if you look at her recent pics she is posing as if she is sitting on her own face lol

I love Madonna's voice, it's beautiful, not always perfect live, but we have to remember that she dance in most of her performance so it's really hard to keep great vocal. She have many great vocal performances thru her career. Most of people who coming for her vocals know nothing about her or are just haters/stans of other singers.

I would assume Madonna asks for too much money. But with the new management and the Warner deal, someone might talk some sense into her. The 15th season will be filmed in 2022, Gaga was the special guest for the first episode of season 10, we might get Madonna for season 15. I'm guessing RuPaul will go all out for that.
