Well, in 2009, when she was dating Jesus Luz, she said this quote: "I don't like guys my age because they are normally either married or divorced and grumpy, fat and balding".

    Her face...what a shock

Hypocritical people enjoy attacking their opponents, saying they are misogynistic if they are likely to lose logically. Yes, it is Madonna's body. Whatever she does with her body, it's Madonna's choice. Why did Madonna inject fat into her hips to form a huge hip? Why does she try to tighten the corset so hard to make her waist thin that it's hard to breathe? Why does she keep wearing sexy clothes? That's because she wants to look like a hot woman even after she's over 60 year old. We don't say anything about her desire. We respect her desire to appear as a hot woman even after the age of 60. The problem is that if you want to look like such a hot woman, at least make a practical effort. No one forces her to be as skinny as anorexia. people's advice is to exercise healthy and control your diet to lose some fat. However, there are a few hypocrites who distort and judge it as misogyny because even such healthy advice is not to their liking. If Madonna liked the fat in her body, she would have accepted it. However, she photoshopped all her Instagram photos and puts tremendous effort into the photos with a slim figure without any fat unlike her real life. Why? Because that's what she wants people to see. We don't say bad with her desire like this. We just give Madonna healthy advice to lose a little weight through a healthy diet if she wants to look like that photoshopped picture. However, hypocrites distort even this healthy advice to be misogynistic. If you want to get a scholarship, sleep a little less than other students and spend more time studying than others. It's a very simple truth and healthy advice. However, hypocrites would say that even such advice is misogynistic if we gave this advice to a female student.

  8. While we wait for the video, some updated stats from Spotify: - The Fireboy DML Remix has passed 500.000 streams today - The Frozen remix is now 34,4 M - She's now 20,5 M monthly listeners and #167 worldwide. Biggest female 80s artist on the platform, finally above Whitney, who was the first until now.

And again, she could call the whole world population fat and ugly today and that still wouldn't give you the right to call her fat and ugly. Of course you can ultimately do it, but it's your choice. The fact that she can act like a b***h doesn't justify that you act like one, too. If you've been a Madonna fan and bought all the spiritual years preachings, you should know better. I feel some of you just use every little angle you can have (cause of course you're gonna find an angle, she's a complex human being with lots of contradictions - as many other people) to justify throwing her s**t. Keep doing it, but don't be surprised there are people telling you that's not OK.

  13. How is that offensive??? She's expressed her taste in men like anyone else does on earth but without mocking them down, wth??? And again, how is that a reason for people here to feel justified to be as critical to her physical appearance? 20. Starting from the fact your point is literally nonexistent, as M herself said she was in love with an overweight man so it's no way a mock down to overweight people nor him, but even if it was, are you guys for real using something mainly ironic/satiric from 30 years ago as a karma card against her so you all can say the same to her now??? How do you even come up with this stuff?

It isn’t misogynistic in any way whatsoever. You are implying that any critique of a woman is derogatory. Madonna has exploited her physique for personal gain for over 40 years, and she became extremely wealthy as a result of public interest in her self-objectification. She also put down fat people in the Sex book, and was dismissive of aging women herself (Joan Collins. Lucille Ball, Peggy Lee). Stop with the pearl-clutching.

  23. One of the rules of the debates is not to insult or use profanity against the other person who has a different opinion. The author of the post simply expresses sadness for the way Madonna looks due to the excessive use of substances on her face and that generates the ridicule of the press. But not for expressing his opinion the author of the post should be insulted by those who disagree. They remind me of the fans of a certain singer, Lady Gaga I think her name was and that she was fashionable for a couple of years and that she has already disappeared from the musical circle, who insulted left and right every time her idol was attacked. Generally Madonna fans express ourselves much better than them and we can also tell her truths when we feel that something is not right but with politeness and tact and we should not be insulted for it.

  24. 100% agree. She was never the same after the divorce. And yes, even in here instagram videos where she's trying to joke or be silly, it's very child-like and a bit odd. She absolutely seems lonely and disconnected from others, even her children. Her instagram filter obsession also makes her a bit of a target. The paparazzi are absolutely going to try to take the worst, most unflattering photos of her in a game of gotcha: here's what she REALLY looks like. I worry it will make her more reclusive and divorced from reality (which is totally understandable!). Acknowledging that these photos are intended to be exploitative and inflammatory, they still concern me. She doesn't look especially healthy... I'm not sure that's the right word. But something is just off....

My same thought exactly. The ones who always spread negativity here are the ones who actually use this "karma card", aka taking everything they can to say "well yeah, see? If she can, I can do that too, free to say that". And this overweight man thing seems to be taken out of context and just overdramatized a lot, things like this leave me genuinely speechless tho ngl

  30. "I had sex with someone who wasn't grossly obese but he was pretty overweight. It was the first and last time. I really liked this guy a lot. He was handsome but he was overweight. I wanted to be unbiased because I really liked him, but the only way I could fuck him was on top because he crushed me. I had to sit on him because his stomach was in the way. That must be what it's like to fuck a pregnant woman." Madonna on her SEX book. The woman who only show spectacular men on her videos since forever...the woman who does topless pictures of herself all the time and show her ass on instagram all the weeks.

  31. People do all kinds of things to improve their appearance. Is wearing makeup a sign of insecurity? After all, it's covering your face up with colors to make it look a certain way. What about coloring hair? Or taking steroids? Or using night cream? Or doing a million other things men and women do to improve their appearance that isn't "naural." Also, do you apply this logic to the countless women in their 20s who are using filters and photoshop? Or is that only ok until you hit a certain age, at which point you're supposed to make a public display of your flaws lest people think you're not "aging gracefully?"

  35. Honestly? I think it must be exhausting to be her. In the end i'm just sad she's in her 60's and is missing the beauty of being a 60 something. That said...i was there when the daily mail was zooming in on her hands back in the 2000's and calling them "granny hands". I was also there when she started wearing gloves and they said she wasn't "age gracefully". And when everyone called her a freak for the experimental surgery she did on her hands in 2016. Now in 2022 and here we are, zooming in on her hands once again. 15 years later. I can only have some empathy and honestly say i don't know how i would handle the pressure. I'm sure i'd handle it way worse than she is. That's all.

  37. I absolutely adore what she is wearing she looks stylish as fuck. I also think it’s far too simplistic to suggest that Madonna’s thought process is singular. She’s a complex person. It’s entirely possible to fight for women rights and combat misogyny and yet still potentially have a degree of body dysmorphia or unparalleled fear of ageing. I don’t think the two are mutually exclusive. She is a contradictory person and always has been. Fame at that level has gotta be tough. She’s escaped it’s grasps in some ways and didn’t fall into the same trap as Whitney, Prince, MJ and George Michael. If her body alternations and constantly working with people a third of her age is what she needs to do to stay happy and keeps her busy and occupies her brilliant mind then great. I personally think her self confidence is utterly shot though. To me she’s had a heaviness / sadness around her since the divorce that’s never really lifted. I don’t think it’s necessarily to do with Guy but maybe she has become disillusioned with “great” love despite searching for it since the age of five when her mother died. I know she’s had relationships and remains more private now but I truly think if she were dating someone in their 40’s+ she would present differently. There’s a loneliness about her despite constantly being surrounded by people. I don’t know it’s hard to describe. She’s also likely in the last throws of menopause which can be mentally and physically devastating. I know this from my mothers experience and finally the world is starting to talk about it more. I’m kinda shocked Madonna hasn’t spoken about it,not that she had to it’s private, but she’s opened her mouth on every other part of her life and it’s such a massive part of being a woman. I actually think talking about it would humanise her to a huge swathe of her older fanbase and women in general. It’s a really hot topic right now and it’s coming more into the light. I don’t suppose menopause is a big medium for increasing streams on tik tok though. ..but that daily mail article is fucking disgusting. Have opinions. Share them on forums, but don’t print articles in a national fucking newspaper. Disgraceful behaviour in 2022.

As this forum is shutting down, I will take the opportunity to express a few personal truths. I have loved Madonna since her rise to prominence. She has been an incredible role model and educator. She is a fascinating person who has marched to the beat of her own drum with courage and conviction. The richness and success of her discography puts most popular artists to shame! She has produced some of the most exquisitely conceived stage performances in history, and she has been able to remain the center of attention for good and for bad throughout her long and illustrious career. I am also able to accept that Madonna’s imperialism has long ended, and her exceptional achievements have for the most part become minor sound bytes in a world consumed by constant change and newness. Her public profile has evolved considerably in recent years due to her adopting social media as her primary content source. Her IG content has often been viewed as awkward and tone deaf, but she is clearly content to convey to the world that she lives a very unique life that most people cannot relate to, and she doesn’t seem to care much what anyone thinks of her (except for certain rappers). I respect these choices and continue to see the same bravery and audacity in her that I’ve always seen. However, this doesn’t mean that I find her modern aesthetic choices pleasant. That you disagree also doesn’t mean that I, or any other critic, should refrain from expressing an opinion that doesn’t placate her fans who are sensitive to her being criticized or objectified. Here’s where it becomes dangerous to express what I experience as the truth because there’s an awful lot of SJW virtue signaling that has become rampant on here, which is unsurprisingly completely in line with the general behavioral fascism society seems intent on imposing. Any narrative that contradicts the prescribed acceptable sycophancy is considered offensive. Well hold onto your hats because I am going to express my truth and risk it all! ? That Madonna has had cosmetic enhancements and procedures is not the issue. She’s 63. She should do whatever she wants to look her very best and feel as confident as she deserves to feel. To me, the problem is that the work she has had done in the last few years is bad. I personally think she looks awful, and I would sue if I ended up looking like she does. It looks botched, or poorly done. Her eyelids barely exist, her cheek fillers are disproportionate and ill-placed, her eyes look like pinholes due to the enormity of the cheeks and the elongated chin, and her stretched jawline is in such contrast to the neck and chin that it looks odd at best. Yes, there are bad angles and there is always the problem of bad lighting. I’m certain that if we saw Madonna up close in person she would look flawless and there would be aspects of her mesmerizing beauty on display, but in photos she looks absolutely ghoulish to me. I understand that I am not allowed to say this out of a code of honor as a Madonna fan, but it is my truth, and one that many others also see. Additionally, the buttock enhancement is clearly botched. It looks painfully out of place, and only an insane person would want that given the health risks of such a surgery, particularly when you have a hip replacement and serious knee issues. Again, that is my opinion, and I maintain that it is okay to critique Madonna’s physique as she has used her body for commercial and artistic ends since the beginning of her career. If she had a second head attached to her neck, would it also be outrageous to notice or feel it wasn’t the best choice (in my opinion)? To take things further, Madonna increasingly chooses creative projects that do not resonate with me, or large parts of her fanbase for that matter. I find the Frozen remix is of minor interest, and I truly wonder who she thinks she is playing to these days. The once intellectualized mystique I associated with her work has been demolished in the last two years. I find it hard not to cringe when I see the bizarre display of Hidden Hills McMansion photo shoots that appear far too regularly to be of significance, featuring some elfin-filtered version of herself that might appeal to the aesthetic tastes of teenage girls if it weren’t for the fact that she is 63 and they know it. These are just simple truths to me. I don’t think these truths are misogynistic or ageist. They are just an expression of personal feeling to which I am entitled as a human being and life-long admirer of Madonna and her creative journey. It is true that the aspects of Madonna’s career that I most enjoyed are of the past. That doesn’t mean that I am not still an avid follower of her craft, and I am sure there will be Madonna projects in the future that I will be thrilled to discover. Whatever she is doing right now, however, simply isn’t doing it for me, and that, my friends, is okay. The End.

  41. I have always thought of Erotica as a statement about female power. Madonna's sexual fantasies on the record are all about power and domination, things traditionally associated with men in the bedroom. Also a lot more of the tracks are about sex than you might think, like Fever. Erotica uses sex as a statement while Bedtime Stories is smooth and sensual.
    1 point
  42. Erotica was a very brave record to make! Madonna had come off of a string of monster pop records and a string of unprecedented hits (Madonna, Like a Virgin, True Blue and Like a Prayer) and then she changed lanes entirely. No other mainstream artist would have ever tried such a thing. Imagine Michael Jackson, Prince, Britney, Eminem, Tina Turner or Janet ever pulling this off or even attempting on such a scale. They were all carefully cultivated formulas and never strayed. Never. The Erotica album is also shocking in all of the right ways. Madonna used sex in a way that had never been done on a mainstream stage. She weaponized sex as the ultimate protest against an unjust society, chipped away at many millenniums of patriarchy, and delivered a scathing review of the ugly truths of inequality that were (are still) infesting in society at large. Madonna shed more than her clothes to make this record but her very skin, psyche and soul. Clearly, Erotica is not about being sexy, it is about being powerful, prolific, and protecting others. It was a also a brilliant response to the intolerance of gay people and the largely ignored AIDS crisis in a time when LGBTQ people were demonized by 90%+ of the world. Madonna created a safe space within Erotica for all who needed refuge. Perhaps Erotica was Madonna's true Opus as it revealed her at her most vulnerable. It also killed off the Material Girl forever. I love this record musically but even more so as a blueprint to love and equality. Years later, M is still a freedom fighter but this was an unprecedented move to trade in the worldwide applause and accolades for the opportunity to lift others and speak the truth. For me, I suppose that Erotica is the Gospel section of Madonna's life and I appreciated both the message and being invited. Erotica never really was about Madonna but about reaching out to other people in love. It was a sort of love letter and it touched me. Long live the Queen.
