  4. Oh believe me, I would LOVE to be involved. But unfortunately it doesn't seem like it's in the cards, I've not been able to get those design projects in front of the people who make those decisions. I do appreciate the vote of confidence though, so thank you! I also want to say a huge congratulations to Aldo and Brendon: they have delivered outstanding cover artwork for this compilation while also just casually being the loveliest human beings. They deserve all the success in the world and I could not be happier for them. 💖💖

  6. I went to a Madonna tribute show last night in a large theatre. When I tell you the audience was 5% cigarettes and 95% ex teenage moms in their 40’s and 50’s you need to believe me. I’ve never seen such a reaction to Papa Don’t Preach. It was far and away the biggest reaction of the night. anything post 1990 was pretty much a flop. Frozen Ray Of Light Hung Up Music were just about salvageable but Don’t Tell Me was a flop. I spoke to the woman doing it afterwards and she said they’d tried loads of new stuff in the set over the past years including Ghosttown, Medellin, Girl Gone Wild, Celebration etc but they were all met with stony faces and the theatres went dead. We are not the general public so as much as we moan about the sleeve design it’s 100% on brand for anyone who wants anything historically Madonna related because 83-1990 is IT for 90%+ of anyone who is likely to buy a physical product of Madonna. This is for the fans who only kept half an eye open for Madge after the birth of their first child tbh. There was a 22 yr old with us who only really knew confessions and a couple of the obvious ones and that’s only because he had become invested around Hung Up. It made me realise how important confession was for her career and extending the interest to another generation because with the American Life flopage she really could have been just an 80’s 90’s act. It was quite the wake up call I tell thee.

  7. Can I be honest? No one could ever compete with @WhitePanda and he should be in charge for these reissues!! We need to get M's attention to his work! Do you also have original ideas for recreations in terms of pictures, font, graphics?

  8. There will be plenty of time for that. This is only the beginning. It's not the right time at the moment for her to go experimental. "Frozen" Sickick remix was a happy accident (and yet most of you don't like that). This remix album is a perfect excuse to release another greatest hits compilation without the fatigue that would be going directly against her own previous compilations. The 50 Dance Number Ones milestone is the perfect excuse to release this and the general public will see as a greatest hits album anyway, while the hardcore fans can enjoy rare promo mixes and collector's editions. Even if you don't like it, it's the perfect first step for the reissues campaign. They need to kick it off with a bang and remind everyone that she's Madonna, the popstar with the hits.

  9. What a fantastic time to be a Madonna fan, 40 years into her career. Just this week and in recent months/past few years we got a surprise live performance with one of greatest admirers singing about his home town in his home town (I know opinions differ how good this was, but she got up and did it) last month the RSD WTG Superclub mix, previously practically unavailable on any official format endless digital releases of her past hits with lots of remixes for streaming over the past few years remix of one of her best songs (personally don't like the remix, but that's just me) Upscale videos LOTS of new lewks (I really wish the pink hair photos were the cover for this) VMA tribute We all have our opinions about the quality and artistic merit of most of these above, but you cannot deny that for someone this deep into their career, this is amazing output. And now we get this, 6LP of all her number 1s, in new mixes many that practically a lot of us have never heard. I said it earlier and will say it again, WE ARE NOT WORTHY!!!! Plus credit card is dying! All hail the Queen!

  10. Can u all stop complaining lol. We are getting the remixes everyone wanted !!! Most of us didn’t even think we would get physical anything …: M knew what she was doing releasing this ! It’s a wet dream for most of us here

  11. Fantastic news to wake up to! And the timing couldn't be more perfect after the Medellín meltdowns, haha. I think whoever was in charge of the tracklist did a great job picking the most significant remixes. "Causing A Commotion" was already represented in the recent RSD release, so no complaints here. As for the artwork, I'm sure both covers will look amazing on vinyl. I quite like the (intentional?) nods to Madame X and Celebration, respectively. The CD liner notes and the 12-page LP booklet are also much appreciated. Overall, you can tell there was thought and care put into this project, which makes me anticipate the upcoming reissues even more. Finally enough love, indeed ❤️.

  13. No offense but some fans are being a bit pretentious and egoistic complaining about "there's nothing new in it, it's lazy". There are basically half of the tracks being either released or put on streaming service FOR THE FIRST TIME ever, not only that, but also they're all available on the same compilation, this is great content and everything but lazy, for fans and non, just because you have all the possible existing mixes in your archive it doesn't mean her team can't release the best of them on streaming and physical for fans to enjoy them without being called "lazy boring crashgab". I'm so hyped at the only thought of having my fave remixes on physical format, let alone have half of her catalogue on a huge dance compilation. It's your opinion and it's fine, but let's be objective, it's not GHV2 or Celebration we're talking about...

  17. I do respect people that are happy with it but i also have the right to say that i expected something else. To me she did nothing more than give a list to Mike Dean and tell him "Remaster them and make them no longer than 4 minutes" and that's it, so yes i call it lazy. What i was expecting was that she would give a brand new and fresh twist to some of her classics, maybe not on the 50 but some of them at least. Look at these last couple of years, some major singers's classic have been on heavy rotation by giving them new mixes ; Whitney remixed by Kygo "Higher love", also Kygo remixed Donna Summer "Hot stuff", Elton and Dua track remixed, The Black eyed peas and their track sampling " La isla bonita"... She could have easily do a few remixes with all those remixers she goes clubbing with all the time like Honey Dijon, she's also been in studio with the Weeknd... Can you imagine she had just made 3 new mixes, nothing more : "Vogue - Honey Dijon mix" (a hit in the clubs), "Holiday featuring the black eyed peas" (a hit this summer) and another classic remixed by the Weeknd and its 80's electro style. Then do a new photoshoot for the releases, shot new videos (she's been able to shot two videos in a monhs for those Frozen remixes)... This is the kind of effort i was expecting, just 3 new mixes for the summer and the rest you can put the classic mixes. Of some people are not happy with my opinion that's ok, i have the right to express it without being agressive. This is a discussion board.

  19. Day 2, and once again, Aldo can choke with his lack of taste and talent, Madonna too for choosing him. Not to mention that "I Don't Search, I Find" seems to be missing from the list of number ones printed on the toilet paper behind her, a massive oversight considering the collection is named after it! Mostly happy with the huge tracklist, the biggest pet peeve is the Hollywood remix she chose, when the Jacques Lu Cont, Paul Oakenfold and Micronauts mixes are all vastly superior.

  21. I don’t understand the hate for the box cover. It’s not the album cover, but just the box that contains the 6 records and book. Most artists just make a plain one with text. We’re getting a fun cheesy one. I think it’s great for this release and I’m glad they went all out. what I’m dying to see are the 6 sleeves inside which were not included in the product image

  22. This cover is just beautiful. The other one is just... mediocre at best. Celebration without the charisma of the original release. And don't get me started on the fonts Aldo used... Why does she keep hiring him? I know for a fact that she has fans who would do a much better job (and I include myself there because I can, tbh), so why not looking for fresh blood?

  24. I'm sorry, but to the people who thought we were getting 50 new remixes - what have you been smoking? Anyway, love this release, the black and white cover is the one for me but I don't mind the box design at all. Can't wait to spin it.

  25. lol no official source stated brand new remixes. Also it would make no sense to do that with her massive remix catalogue that desperately needs more attention. Also the teasers she posted clearly show them curating the existing remixes As for the chosen mixes. There’s a huge variety and I’m sure each of us have our particular wishlist. I think she made the selection going by her personal favorites and to highlight as many remixers as possible. The Stuart Price mix of Hollywood was already highlighted in the Reinvention tour, film and live album. And he has 2 other mixes on the collection. Plus it seems to me they went for more vocal edits.

  29. Agree 100%, this release has something for everyone, mega fans, general public, collectors, everyone. Also to kick off the Warner partnership i agree it has a much bigger bang with the casual fan base and general public that a reissue with unreleased on one of her albums. I guarantee people will listen to this and be reminded of how influential and prolific Madonna was. Also a good spring board to whip up excitement and refamiliarise people with her body or work before the biopic. You cant please everyone, but I think this is about as good as it is going to get for the greatest number of people.

  33. This anthology is marking her 40 years landmark so Everybody must be there to represent 1982. Wether we like it or not. But Physical Attraction shouldn’t have replaced other number ones like Commotion. And surely they could have found room to include Lucky Star. As for Angel I guess it kind of doubles with into the groove so I don’t think it’s a terrible omission.

  35. God, this looks even worse in HQ Don't get me wrong, I love the idea of this collection, I've been wanting something like this for years. I was just hoping for an epic cover, and at least the standard one is top quality (even if it's pretty effortless), but this one... No. Just no. After seeing previous artwork that features different eras like GHV2 or Celebtration... this one is, as I said, mediocre.

  39. Well to be fair, she announced this while being in the studio with Mike Dean and Honey Dijon, and we didn’t know their involvement in this. Plus there were numerous rumors about collabs with Katy Perry, Miley Cyrus, etc etc etc

  42. Mmmm... Shep Pettibone and Jellybean were (almost) not invited to the party, it seems. I mean, I like the Bill Bottrell mixes of Like a Prayer, but COME ON, Shep's Dance Mix is iconic. Physical Attraction to represent YCD when it was not remixed for that at first place when she could have chosen, doh, Spotlight or Shep's Where's the Party Single Edit or the Single Edit of Holiday by Jellybean... Both LAV and MG in its original form, really? NO FUCKING CAUSING A COMMOTION (Again, with mixes by Shep)??? She really hates it, there's no excuse. It is the third compilation she leaves it out... and poor Angel... I... Having said that, the standard cover is great, the other one is a fuzzy dream I wish I had not seen.

  43. "Celebration" actually ADDED glitches and s**t to some songs, it's the opposite of a good remaster yes hahaha. What I mean is that if the 12'' remix of "Vogue" originally had a tape or residual sound from the mixing and that's the way it was, I don't want some 2022 engineer deciding that's not correct and taking it out. Cause it was part of the song and the producer and Madonna decided it was OK to have it there. My point.

  45. I love the art. The inclusion of the YCD edits is exciting. Into The Groove sounds incredible, i bought it on iTunes and almost fell outta my chair when i listened to it. Hopefully we still get a proper remaster of the whole album sometime down the Rd. It's the fact that Angel and Causing a Commotion aren't included that i'm really having a hard time with. I get that Causing a Commotion was released for RSD, but i'm not bringing my record player in the truck to listen to it. Should be released digitally as well. I feel like Like A Virgin and Material Girl could have been dropped for this, since the 7" versions aren't far off from the album versions. No Lucky Star? And since we're paying homeage to YCD why not include the YCD version of Holiday instead of the 7"? However i'm excited to soon own that 7" version. It's amazing to see Keep it Together and Impressive Instant included. And i'm actually blown away by the choices of remixes. Most are my fave mixes of those tracks. However, Frozen most def should have been the Stereo MC's mix, and Hollywood the Thin White Duke mix. Ultimately, i think a lot of time and thought was put into this. I'm more amazed/excited than disappointed.

  46. The Sorry PSB Maxi-Mix is probably my favourite Madonna mix of all time, along with the LAP featuring Prince's guitar. Glad to see that on it, even if it is the edit. I already have it on vinyl, CD and can stream is anyway.

  47. HAHAHA it seriously is. They saw the meltdowns and RAN to announce it. I think the concept of this is cool and a good way to kick off the campaign, I just hope they know we want Unreleased songs on the special reissues of her albums.

  48. Ok this is a nice surprise for all of us especially after the mess of her Medellín show last Saturday, this is like a hemorrhoid cream for all of us.

  49. My only complaint is that Who's that Girl was skipped on the Immaculate Collection and now Causing a Commotion is sidelined on this collection. Both were number ones in their respective charts. Madonna has so many friggin hits that it is nearly impossible to fit everything. As for the collection being edits... I think that is a great choice! The collection is already 220+ minutes long. I can see myself listening to 50 edits more frequently vs (50) 8 to 12 minute songs. The art is fun! I prefer the 50 song cover but she looks great on both and I pre-ordered both on cd, vinyl and digital. This collection is gonna be fun and I am so relieved that it is loaded with classics rather than reinvention features. I would have supported it regardless but these choices make me sooooo happy.
