  5. A great album, sadly misunderstood and/or ignored (by many fans, too). The fact that after more than 35 years working she was able to do such a body of work... amazing. I'd like to think time will be kind to "Madame X", let's see. My fave, this song: Everything I wanted from Madonna in 2019: a modern sound but with all the emotions of old school Madonna. I also LOVED the "Medellín" video: Felt like a proper FIRST SINGLE epic moment. Long live Madame X!

  6. I understand that some fans don't like the album but I don't get the pompous comments at all. How so? I just find "Madame X" to be the perfect combination of all the Madonnas we've get to know through the years: - The political Madonna ("God Control"). - The Latin Madonna ("Medellín"). - The Urban Madonna ("Future"). - The romantic Madonna ("Crave"). - The Dance-I'm gonna give the gays all they want Madonna ("I Don't Search I Find"). - The experimental Madonna ("Dark Ballet"). - The "I just found a new thing I'm passionate about - and now it's Portugal" Madonna ("Killers", etc.). - The Auto-Tuned Madonna! Yes, bad news but she started doing that in the "Music" album, back in 2000. - The ally Madonna ("I Rise"). While stepping into some new ground sonically. I'll stop now. What I mean is: I see "Madame X" as the perfect excuse to be everything she is and wants to be, after two failed albums and accepting that commercial success is no longer an option, finally taking off all the layers, excuses, expectations and being, just being: her. She's Madame X... X-X-X!!

  7. I couldn’t agree more with everything stated. When I tell you she must’ve tapped into my brain to make Madame X because it’s legit everything I wanted. I got into her catalogue right when Rebel Heart came out. And I slowly fell in love with American Life. I desperately wanted her to hire Mirwais again and wanted her to make a political album due to the Trump years, I knew she would have a lot to say. And of course I wanted a return to the visuals she delivered earlier in her career and a persona like the old days. And I literally got every single thing I wished for. I don’t think an album will ever again hit every single hope I could have. And the cherry on top is I got to meet her twice. We got: The Madame X persona 6 music videos A mini documentary A BRILLIANT photoshoot The EPIC teaser which is her best imagery in probably 20 years maybe ever Return of Mirwais Return of her songwriting. Most of the songs are written by just her and the producer. The most political songs shes ever released! An introduction to her singing in different languages. I know she’s done it before but nothing to this level. Absolutely brilliant I just cannot get enough of this album

  8. It hurts me (lol) when people and even Madonna prefer the sterile and noisy remix of Celebration, rather than the beautiful, melancholic but energic album version.

  9. HAPPY 3RD BIRTHDAY, MADAME X! This is the album I officially went in after deep diving into her discography. Watching the teaser during lunch break in our classroom? I was freaking out... HARD.

  10. For me Fever video remix is better than the album version.

  12. As a work of art, MX certainly succeeded, but as a pop album, too many parts didn't fit together and could have been better shaped by a more suitable producer. Dark Ballet could have been an epic masterpiece like Bohemian Rapsody, but turned into a curious sound collage without any form. Especially some remixes of I Rise, Crave, Medellin, God Control, I Don't Search or Come Alive I found superior to the album productions. They showed that many songs had the potential to be hits and that the album could have been constructed in a more commercial and catchy / radio-friendly way. But unfortunately that wasn't Madonna's intention.

  14. This whole left wing right wing talk is the biggest bunch of bullshit ever forced down the throat of humanity. Same pathetic terms and arguments used by both sides like always, boring and predictable, originality and a mind that actually thinks for itself is rare these days. If anyone wants to prove to me that you are more sensible than the herds of democrat and republican sheep who vote despite being too stupid, I would suggest stop identifying as right wing or left wing, stop using the same old accusations of terms like racism or cancel culture and use your brain cells for a change. The reason why everything is such a clown show today is because of putting labels on everything and expecting people to act a certain way just because they identify as something. For instance, just because one is conservative does not mean they automatically need to be associated with Trump or act as stupid as he does, just because you are a strong independent woman does not mean you are special or constantly being oppressed by some evil male patriarchy, just because you are gay does not mean you need to adhere to the toxic pressures of the LGBTQ community by turning yourself into a prancing circus devoid of masculinity or self dignity. My own political belief is the the system is rotten to the core and will only be rebuilt from zero after everything falls to pieces.

  15. You forgot the best part: as the shows comes to an end, Vogue is performed, and she opens her legs while upside down making her ass cheeks spell "MoM" in significance of her role as mother for the LGBT community. Cheers, applause, tears of joy. Poetic performance.

  16. I was watching some of Madonna's TV performances lately and rediscovered all of these Ghosttown performances. I love them and felt they aren't really talked about that much so I decided to make this topic. They are pretty simple performances, kinda like how The Power of Good-Bye was performed in 1998, but I just love how she was able to convey emotions with her vocals. Plus she looked really great in them, as she did during the promo tour of Rebel Heart in early 2015. I was wondering what you thought of them. And to answer the question of the poll, my favorite is probably the one at the Jonathan Ross Show. I liked her slightly softer voice and felt she was more in tune overall. Plus, while it's a detail, I love how she kept smiling at the beginning of the performance. She really did the song justice at that show in my opinion.

  17. That girl is quite amazing, so before going on your usual little rants, listen. She has two songs with Rosalía and both of them are hits, "Linda" and this other one: Mom has being doing her homework, proud of you, motomami.

  19. Try again. Re read everything and then come back. Your friend is choosing to try and turn this into some Right Wing/Left Wing/Cancel Culture twitter war. Her bio states she is Black and Gay and speaks on these issues. Just like every rapper speaks about the issues they encounter in life. If you can't see how your friend's response is nothing but a mindless regurgitation of Right Wing talking points then I would encourage you to keep re reading until something clicks. No this isn't a dictatorship, but It's also not a forum for spreading ignorant crap that you try to pass off as an "opinion". If the post in question offered anything more than generic Right Wing talking points then maybe it would be a discussion. But these Right Wing talking points aren't made for discussion. They are made to put people down and discredit groups of people. And to be quite honest I'm tired of pretending like you guys don't already know this. I know you know this. If you want to go on and on about Cancel Culture and Wokeness and dictatoships, go to twitter, or whatever Donald Trump's social platform is. If you want to have a discussion then have a discussion.

  22. I loooves it. This album is great. The one I've been asking for since Hard Candy. So many missed opportunities and potential hits! "Medellin", "Crave", "Come Alive" would have done great in some other people's hands!

  27. While I like Benny Benassi's remix of Celebration (mainly due to the MDNA Tour), I have to agree here. My favorite is still the original version produced by Paul Oakenfold, and I also prefer the Felguk Love Remix than the Benassi one.

  31. You are not being cancelled. Freedom of speech however does not include freedom of its consequence. Most other commentators have just been calling you out for your offensive discourse on this topic. Those reactions have been part of their free speech. You are entitled to your opinion. However, you should express your views in a much less demeaning way if you intend to have an honest and civil conversation with other human beings: Don't use derisive terms such as "ridiculous virtue signallers". Don't make personal attacks, direct or indirect. Don't describe others as the opposite of "proper people". Provide some arguments for your viewpoint instead of just expressing your disdain. Try to be respectful of others and their opinions if you want your opinion to be respected as well. Thank you. EDIT: It's really not about what you said, but how you choose to express it! No, because in this case, your opinion was based on your own personal appreciation of Tracy Young's remix work (which you have motivated by some arguments) and not just based on her identity.

  33. Am I the only one who saw the incriminating comment just as a "tired of her working with people who claim theirselves as great activists but with their music being still mediocre and not reflecting their message at all"? Lol because it's what I saw and I agree on that, if you're an activist that's great! But if you work with that artist only for that and not because of their music talent then that's shallow and kinda meh and doesn't really reflect the artist's soul, and we will only end up in other mediocre releases such as the frozen mixes

  34. Absolutely! And what´s more, it seems the whole concert wenton fire each time she did it unexpectedly, and it was a very emotional moment and she did really amazing vocally with it. I think thats from a time when she really tried to do things great. I think this not being succesful despite it´s greatness it is one of the things that have depressed her and make her not care about doing things as she would normally do: rehearsing, training, trying the singing, an all of that. Ghostown for me it´s one of the best things she has ever done, despite not being huge at the moment.

  35. You don’t have to be “right wing” to be bored to tears by identity politics, Instagram activism and endless virtue signalling

  36. I am not right wing, I believe in free speech and that also includes other people's views I don't agree with, including yours. I've seen members on here being bullied for saying things people don't like and people are afraid to say things, I am NOT one of those people. I am not an obsequious person. So go ahead, cancel me on here. Other members will see that.

  37. Agreed, she need to work with real musicians, but she cares more about her "message" than the quality of her music nowadays. Ever since the "Secret Project" everything went downhill. Her message never even goes through anyone so its all just a big waste of time...

  38. So why have a forum if people that don't agree with you will get warned? Isn't this a place of discussion? You cant and wont be able to make everyone think like you. This is not a dictatorship.

  41. Calling it now. She will have a "W" painted on each ass cheek. As David's mix of D&D comes to its peak, she will turn around and spread them for the crowd, revealing her diamond encrusted hole, spelling out "WOW". And we will rip eachother apart over it. Cannot wait.

  44. If Robyn can have Dancing On My Own single version (04:39 and a different pitch) and album version (04:45 with lower pitch) count as the same track on Spotify, then so can the virtually identical versions of Like A Prayer be combined... someone just needs to do it...
