  3. I guess that the rumours have to start at some point, if there's not previous excitement, it would be a flop as an announcement. But I don't know if we as fans are excited anymore. Her life the past 5 years was a continuos teaser, and it's boring right now.

  4. It is. It’s the same Emily. She had a career change after Miranda fired her. Working for Madonna is tougher though and still no Paris trip so far….

  8. She probably couldn’t smile cuz she forgot to put her grillz in lol. They’re always in there. She sure can’t go on tour and sing properly with those bad boys in there.

  15. I don't think it has to do with "how many hits", but rather he was part of the infamous Blues Brothers with James Belushi which did produced several top 40 hits and was a big deal in the early 80's. He was quite popular as an actor and was among some extremely popular films at the time, "We Are The World" was recorded. Ghostbusters was the big box office smash at the time, and he and Bette Midler were the two Hosts for the very first VMA's months before.

  18. Well you deserve so much more. I already commented on your YT channel but you really are giving a gift to us, it is about living again the whole eras in a kind of philological reconstruction but with a deeper conscience of the impact and the meaning of her work. Erotica is my absolute favourite era, with Like a Prayer (wich should be the next one) and Ray of Light, and I got lost in the way you told the whole story. Maybe my only disappointment (but it's just because it's the thing I'm most fond about her whole career, so it's just personal) is the space I would have intensified about the Girlie Show. Thanks again man, I'm grateful for your work: I'm not the kind of guy who usually waits for the next chapter, in your case I'm greedy!

DanK is hardly someone trolling around. I think a lot of members here can attest that he is known for sharing rare stuff over the years. You can rest assure, if he was planning to share a demo that hasn't been legally released, someone stopped him before he could do so. Most likely it was someone from M's team.

  31. It's been posted and discussed. The song was recorded in January 1985 when Madonna was just becoming very popular with "Like A Virgin". Plans were made before LAV went #1. Everyone involved have had long established recording careers. So no, she hadn't outshone some of the most biggest icons included like Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Lionel Ritchie, Bruce Springsteen, Harry Belafonte, Smokey Robinson, Paul Simon, Diana Ross, Tina Turner, Ray Charles, Hall and Oates, Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, Willie Nelson, Bob Dylan, Kenny Loggins, Kim Carnes, Huey Lewis, Pointer Sisters, and the list goes on. She may have surpassed some after the fact, but all involved have had huge successful careers, some for decades already. I don't believe she was ignored, but rather not thought to be included at the time.

  35. Her guardian angel, thankfully! Worked! I don't believe that anybody considered her, to be honest. She was not a titan by then, Like a Virgin was seen as a fad by many. If her name was indeed considered I suspect Labels/Company issues played a part, given most artists on it were from CBS, and even Prince (also a Warner Records artist) was left out. Madonna would collapse in that environment. She's been very vocal about how she sees her work in the studio to be an intimate experience and that she can only do it with people she likes/trust. Imagine her recording a line in front of a buch of stars!

  36. It underperformed in the US (Top 40 anyway), but it was a hit in Europe: #2 in the UK, #5 in Germany, #2 in Italy, etc. Keep in mind there was a time when Britney was not universally loved by the US radios and her label then didn't push that medium (it was all payola anyway with the big hits ahem ahem) - they didn't need too, she had MTV anyway and was a TRL queen, back when MTV still mattered. Previously to "Me Against The Music", she had a #1 single with her debut with "...Baby One More Time", but after that she only got two Top 10 singles on the Billboard Hot 100. "I'm A Slave 4 U" was #27 in the US! Even "Toxic", the MONSTER hit, was "only" #9 in the US. Similar to the "Hung Up" situation in 2005, a monster hit worldwide a #1 almost everywhere but only Top 10 in the US.

  37. It flopped because both Britney and Madonna were still blacklisted on US radio stations in 2003. It was a hit pretty much everywhere else.

  39. Exactly. Especially those who say how much they hate an album but buy 15 editions of it for their collection nobody actually sees 🤣

  40. I don't argue with people who say merch like this is useless crap because they are the same who would buy 5 copies of the same overpriced vinyl just because it has a new color variant plus an incredible fancy sleeve the original album didn't have! 1!1!1 so I have mercy on them instead ♥
