  2. I’ll be releasing episodes of the series throughout the year to commemorate the 25th anniversary of Ray of Light. The first one is up now! If anyone wants to contribute footage for the other episodes, please DM me! I am particularly after news reports ❤️

  6. We've getting 6 previously unreleased remixes, two of them ("Mother And Father" and "Easy Ride") promo only in 2003-2004 and very rare. The fact that those two are commercially released is a miracle. And still it's not enough. Plus potentially a digital "American Life 20" campaign (fingers crossed) with the digital maxi singles added to streaming and the remastered videos. No matter what they release, it's never gonna be enough for some fans.

  9. Thanks! You making it that much easier for some of us fans to secure a copy. While I agree, I wasn't expecting this as RSD release, but at least it's something rare and not already out there. American Life album is such an underrated album, and this will be a nice collectors item for Madonna fans who enjoy more than just the Who's That Girl era.

  13. I could just make out some of the writing, something along the lines of 'come into my store, I've got candy galore' - not sure is that from CAC?

  14. And like that it's gone...I am really into any American Life tbh @wtg1987 you keep asking for new stuff and re-releases but I think you only be pleased with a 4 CD digipack of the WTG tour and the videos in laserdisc

  15. Interesting. They've uploaded the original album BUT the versions are the same remastered 2021 versions as "True Blue 35th" and later updated "True Blue (Reissue)". So now we have three different "True Blue" albums with the same masters... https://music.apple.com/es/album/true-blue/213608727 EMILY! The original 1986 versions would be great, please.

  20. Well unfortunately a lot of pigs are attacking her on social media, so she is responding to that. Read the words they say and you’ll understand. She is hardly some man hater though. Look at her team, she works with a lot of straight men whom she adores. I think the fight is against the patriarchal system, not men. It’s 2 very different things. And this fight will never be over until men and women have equal power in the world. Madonna has always stood for this since the beginning. It’s pretty much the entire essence of her career. Maybe she is more aggressive lately about it but that’s because those floodgates were opened with the #metoo movement. But it is not new. I have literally seen an interview from the early 80’s where she uses the word “patriarchy.” Any man that is truly on board with womens rights will not be bothered hearing about it over and over or feel they are under attack. Men that think that are simply afraid of losing their privilege.

  21. The artwork is a boot. So many gorgeous pics from that era and shoot and they use text. The way so many more Madonna fans would have snapped this the fuck up at time of release instead of Remixed & Revisited. Her lack of remix albums was always such a loss for me. Pet Shop Boys got that right.

  22. I made so many custom remix albums back in the day, with offical remixes instead of album versions, and this *gift* is a dream coming true! So happy!!!

  26. One of my favourite albums of hers and my first M era! I hope I can get a copy. I think it's a nice RSD release and not just another coloured vinyl re-release of one of her albums

  28. When Frozen premiered i was living in London and it was morning, i was in bed after my boyfriend left, listening to Radio 1, I can't remember who was the male DJ but the girl with him was Zoe Ball and she was making fun of Madonna (that's when she thought she was too cool because she was dating Norman Cook) she was saying she was using the crystal box of the cd as a mirror. They played it for the first time. My bf had this pic of Elvis standing on his toe from Jailhouse Rock pinned on the wall before the bed so Elvis is someho linked to Frozen for me as i was staring at him while listening for the first time. When the song ended, Zoe Ball changed her tune (though she said something like thanks to William Orbit it's good) and both were quite impatient to play it again.

  33. "I'll stick with the original copy of the album" ??? Not sure if you noticed, but this release is not supposed to replace an original American Life album by any means, it is a nice add-on.

  42. The reason why some costumes seen in pics from the early dates of the Virgin Tour were never to be seen again is because they were stolen half way through the tour. In 1987 while she was preparing the Who's That Girl tour, she met with tunisian-french iconic designer Azzedine Alaïa to make the costumes, model Veronica Webb served as translator (because Alaïa did not speak english) apparently Warner was not willing to pay the fees he was asking for and she ended up with these Leslie Hamel costumes (i don't like these Gaultier and Castelbajac rip offs). Alaïa gave her nonetheless a beautiful feather coat.

  43. I don't buy that. There are 16 remixes on the Give It 2 Me digital single, not to mention the other handful floating around that weren't included. They could do it if they cared enough. They need the mindset of a librarian or a museum historian, that's all. But they're blinded by $$.

  44. "Hou Mamma Mia" by Les Negresses Vertes second album was written for and sent to Madonna in 1990 but she had no time to record it so she slapped their demo on the european version of Dick Tracy's soundtrack because she really liked it even though it was not related to DT nor it blended well with the rest of the soundtrack (penned Andy Paley mostly but Madonna was the executive producer with Seymour Stein of the "various artists" OST). At the time they talked about it to french tv station M6 (they wanted her to sing in italian). They finally released it themselves in 1993. She was made aware of the Negresses Vertes by Jean-Paul Gaultier and their 1989 international crossover hit "Zobi La Mouche" remixed by...William Orbit, she then asked them for a track. She also slapped Ofra Haza's Herida De Miel on that european version because she discovered her then via Vincent Paterson while rehearsing for the Blond Ambition tour, her music inspired Like A Virgin on that show.
