  1. Stealing what exactly? Release dates for singles that we're promoting and they're not? How do you steal a release date? I can't with this all this Rhino Twitter s**t, honestly. If you're reading, DM us, maybe we can help. Locating the right versions, telling you the right tags for each version (still having issues with the "Borderline" single on Spotify, I see? Let us help) and even help you with the dates and the promo. The fans are not the enemy.

  4. The tracks are now matched on Spotify (that's why it shows the total streams from all the other releases before): 1, 3 & 5 match the 2001 Reissue. 4 matches both "Finally Enough Love" and "You Can Dance (Single Edits)". As we already knew, the only "new" track on streaming from this is track number 2, the 7'' Edit of "Burning Up". Hope this information is not confidential, I just happen to have a Spotify account I promise I'm no hacker. (Joking). (Or not).

  5. BILLBOARD TODAY (MAR 8TH, 2023): Madonna’s 100 Greatest Songs (Critics’ Picks) The best songs from the inarguable Queen of Pop. By Joe Lynch, Andrew Unterberger, Bianca Gracie, Nolan Feeney, Katie Atkinson The history of pop music can essentially be divided into two eras: pre-Madonna and post-Madonna. Michael Jackson sold more albums and Prince was more prolific, but of the three singular musical icons born in 1958, Madonna is still the one who most set the template for what a pop star could and should be: bold, brilliant, ambitious, consistently innovative and constantly evolving. Madonna’s rise to galactic superpower status in the ’80s mirrored the rise of MTV as a cultural force, and hardly by coincidence: no figure since David Bowie married sound and vision so expertly. Before Madonna, artists could be considered daring if they reinvented themselves with each new album; she sped up the pace to where she was doing so practically with each music video, defining “iconic” so many times over she eventually had to make a song about it. Unlike many of her superstar predecessors and peers, there is no one true definitive Madonna sound or album — rather, there are a couple dozen definitive Madonna eras, which could last as long as four years or as short as, well, four minutes. Starting with her 1983 self-titled debut, the hits (and controversies) came quickly for the woman who boldly declared she wanted “to rule the world” during her North American network TV debut appearance on Dick Clark’s American Bandstand. Since then, she’s delivered on that promise, reigning as the undeniable Queen of Pop. Her four decades of culture-shifting hits — including 12 Billboard Hot 100 No. 1s — will take center stage during her 2023 Celebration Tour. And there’s a lot to celebrate. For years, Madonna wasn’t ahead of the curve so much as consistently bending its angle with her gravity. She talked (and sang, and wrote, and performed) frankly about sex and desire at a time when doing so largely inspired mockery at best and condemnation at worst. She loudly championed her LGBT fanbase while many pop stars were still avoiding their existence altogether. She confronted misogyny, abuse and gender double standards inside and outside of the music industry for decades before there was any kind of nationwide #MeToo movement to support her. While many of her peers struggled to adapt or openly railed against new trends in popular music, she successfully incorporated elements of house, trip-hop, techno, drum and bass, G-funk and Auto-Tune into her music at various points in her career, working with everyone from Nile Rodgers to Lenny Kravitz to Björk to Andrew Lloyd Webber to Pharrell to SOPHIE — scoring Billboard Hot 100 hits with all of them — without ever losing her center. She’s spent so much of her career dragging pop music into the future that it’s not surprising to see today’s pop stars continuing to call back to her, whether it’s Drake invoking her name as the ultimate superstar presence, or Ariana Grande casting her as the no-credit-needed voice of biblical female vengeance, or Rihanna simply using her entire career arc as the pace-setter for her own. But for all her innovation, iconicity and activism, what really endure are the songs. So many, many songs: well over 200 officially released tracks over the course of her career, a stunning percentage of which should remain familiar to even casual pop fans of her lifetime. Madonna scored her first Hot 100 top ten hit with “Borderline” in 1984, and her (to date) last with “Give Me All Your Luvin'” in 2012. In between, she’s amassed a total of 38 top ten hits — most of any artist in Billboard history, a record that stands tall even in this robust era of streaming-powered single-artist chart dominance. And the range of those hits is similarly unimpeachable, encompassing euphoric dance floor slayers, heartbreaking big ballads, bubblegum pop perfection, edgy electro-funk and the most vital radio-ready sounds in between. We here at Billboard wanted to celebrate the living legend with a list of our 100 favorite tracks from her incredible career. See our picks below, and be sure to take one day out of life to celebrate your own favorites by the artist who remains the dictionary definition of pop stardom. Check the rankin on this link: [Hidden Content] spoiler: 96 - "Sooner or Later" (I'm Breathless, 1990) 91 - "You'll See" (Something to Remember, 1995) 73 - "Rain" (Erotica, 1992) 55 - "Love Song" (Like a Prayer, 1989) 50 - "Living for Love" (Rebel Heart, 2015) 23 - "Get Together" (Confessions on a Dance Floor, 2005) 9 - "Deeper and Deeper" (Erotica, 1992) 4 - "Ray of Light" (Ray of Light, 1998)

  13. WHAT? BURNING UP EP ON STREAMING? Burning Up? Burning Up? Burning Up?

  14. I am convinced that Madonna has a burner account here. Mom, if you're watching this, please tell Warner/Rhino to get the negatives for the LAP video because unfortunately, Mary Lambert doesn't have them with her. Just talked to her on Twitter and that's what she said. She isn't a fan of the upscales too. :(

  15. So... Rhino now is the one claiming that us figuring out what single they will put on streaming next, missing songs and in a half-assed way, is an "artistic rape" and a "form of terrorism"? Ok, 2014 flashback then...

  16. To me this sounds like they are creating drama to get people to talk about these single releases! 😂 AND IT WORKS! Suddenly, we are all paying attention and trying to figure out what the hell is going on.
    6 points
  17. Well…you could have just believed me instead. The price doesn’t mean anything. Like I said before: We got certain singles for 7.99 and ended up getting 9 tracks or more. The 7" Version of Physical Attraction in general is a different mix. They used the demo to create that. The 12"/Album Version is actually a remixed version done by Jellybean. It's possible that the different remastered versions of it, used different transfer methods and therefore sound a little different.

  19. Let’s not act like Madonna shares on her own social media this digital uploads, I believe she did it twice. She didn’t even mention the Ray Of Light single or Has To Be. So it sounds quite stupid this “request”. It’s a digital single of a single released 40 years ago with NOTHING new. Hardly a groundbreaking release.

  21. I am confused by the Rhino posts - the release schedule is available in the lead up to the day? All sorts of people can access and see it.....are they suggesting we all should just be 'surprised' when something is released?

  23. WTF Like WTF, really. It's not 1998, what's with that message. If they really want to surprise people with these releases, make them available worldwide at the same time instead of doing regular midnight releases for each country. The fact that they worry about that and not about a proper remastering or including all the proper versions, well. A choice.

  24. That's not true. Just because you hate him (to quote you) doesn't mean he doesn't have a big audience anymore. Christine is the kind of artist that doesn't follow any trend, you cannot put him in a box and most of his work is not accessible for everyone. People either love him or hate him. To me he's one of the rare real creative french maintsream artist for several years and it's no surprise M works with him.

  32. If the issue was with a user in particular on Twitter, a simple DM would have been not only more professional, but also nicer. Again, these releases are for hardcore fans (us). I think they're missing the point if they find offensive us getting excited by them, talking a couple of days about potential tracklists, etc. Not to mention the free promo that all is. But if they don't want us to care about them, well, let's not talk about them then?

  33. Wasn't there a worldwide slump in record sales in 1989-90? I remember reading this somewhere. Probably something to do with a confused market place and consumers waiting to find out what would become the dominant format especially when people already had titles from a by then established artists in vinyl only format. 1989-90 is really when the CD properly took flight as the new format. I remember plenty of times thinking. "Should I get this on CD or is it a fad?2 Plus CD's were hella expensive, double the price of a vinyl which was about £7.99. Lots of CD's were between £12.;99 and £16.99 for back catalogue titles. Sometimes as much as £21.99. People had probably just forked out a load of money on new CD players too so. I remember reading New Kids On The Blocks Hangin Tough was the lowest selling number 1 of all time. It was also a time where rave and hip hop were really starting to come though. Pirate copies and white labels started to filter through to sides of the market for the first time. Much of these would not have hit the neilson soundscan radar. But like others had said. The huge drought of 1988: where other pop starlets took her bandwidth. (lets not forget she did not take her foot off our necks for five years prior to that it was an onslaught). One single before the album dropped: True Blue had beniffited from having both Live To Tell & Papa Dont preach out when the album dropped. The sporadic singles run after Cherish: also Express Yourself didn't really seem to do the numbers I expected it to. Even as a hardcore fan I could not work out what was going on. Oh Father was on Americas Top Ten Countdown that was screened here but not released and then suddenly the Animated and highly niche Dear Jessie was released, Then no Keep It Together. It was scatty as hell and whiplash inducing. Like A Prayer album felt abandoned half way and like it had run out of steam. I hated the album on first listen and i mean hated. I was so upset with her I thought she'd lost it. lol. It was a challenging listen for a 13 year old. I think it's the point where she started to lose a lot of fans too. Compared to her titan singles run and flawless campaign from True Blue. Suddenly out of nowhere "Vogue": Closely followed by I'm Breathless & The Immaculate Collection.

  37. It's funny... I think the 7'' (and the 12'' Mix) are more danceable than the album/video version. That bass in the mix is amazing when the volume is really up. The album/video version is amazing too (for me the original album version is the one available in "the first album", unreleased from digital sources).

  39. From what I can gather, Rhino posted on Twitter a request to keep things under wraps until they officially announce / promote - a few have surmised this to mean their posts that have promoted / shared the track lists of the single re issues ahead of the release date. We are all trying to understand why, and really what will it stop - given the track lists are known in advance and anyone can post and share. Rhino then posted a follow up tweet - Be careful for what you wish for - no one knows what this means lol

  40. Sounds to me like somebody was getting a bollicking in a record label board meeting about why the streaming numbers for the Ray of Light remixes were so low, and (instead of promoting them better) all they could come up with was that we'd already moved on to talking about Burning Up.

  41. Exactly right - they sure did! And I am also confused 'be careful what you wished for' - is that a 'warning sign' :P

  42. The problem is "your opinions" are incredibly unconscious. Do you know that she is dating him? Do you know what kind of relationship Madonna wants? Do you know this guy's intelligence level? If you had a few photographs taken with her, would people call you a "simple sexual object"? Why or why not? Do you know if they have had sex? Do you think your idea about dying with no one around you is perhaps YOUR fear and NOT hers? Do you think that maybe her fame and your relationship to her might be a little too confusing for you? You are obviously someone who enjoys thinking about stuff, but it never seems to go beyond a surface level examination of ANYTHING especially the limited extent of your views and why you feel a need to perpetuate them.
