  1. And she's quite a fan of Tyson and Ali, so I guess she was really into it at that time as well.
  2. Same!!! I forgot about Let It Will Be, was that typo on the demo tape that ended being used? It doesn't even make an ounce of sense, I've never understood it! She doesn't even say it in the lyrics, at least I don't think so, been about a decade since I last listened to the album!
  3. For me, it would the following, they're the worst offenders. Give It 2 Me Dance 2nite Devil Gang Bang Gimme All Your Lovin Heartbreakshitty What about album titles though? I'd nominate the past three albums. A bit "meh" in my opinion. Rebel Heart doesn't even include the title track in the standard version and without the double album she intended it's just not the same. "Like A Bitch" perhaps?
  4. I have a few. "Freedom comes when you learn to let go." "Even though it's spring, it's always winter. And my heart has always been a lonely hunter." "Guess I'm waiting for my place in your sun."
  5. "I come to you with all my flaws" I love here just the way she is, imperfections and all. That what makes her her.
  6. @NowRadiateI LOVED how there was always so much percussion on the extended mixes, it goes on for ages it seems on Open Your Heart as well Whoever has the stems, wish they'd do an extended version of The Look of Love like that!
  7. @PWCCAWe're you in love with Dress You Up and Open Your Heart? I was mad for those mixes, they just made me feel so happy! And Shep's mix of Into The Groove as well. I think Who's That Girl was probably the first Madonna remix released where different elements were added to original arrangement. I wonder if there are unreleased mixes similar to the extended version of La Isla Bonita for Who's That Girl.
  8. I didn't always know about remixes. Like with anything else, it's something you discover along the way or someone introduces you to it. The first time I ever heard a remix, it was of a Madonna song and it was in 1990. I would sometimes go over to my next door neighbour's house. She was 14 and I was 12, her and her big sister were always very kind to me, we'd play games and listen to music. That day I went over to hear The Immaculate Collection, they just got it on cassette. I really wanted to hear Like A Prayer, it was my favourite song and I didn't have it at hone, and as it came on I was puzzled why it sounded so different. What does she say at the start, and why is the choir at the beginning? And those drums and that bassline! That's not the same song! The girls explained it was called a "remix" and that was the first time I noticed how a song could be "remixed". The next time I heard a remix was in 1993 when I noticed the Fever video sounded different to what I had on my cassette of the album. I wanted to hear more songs that were remixed like that and in my mind I thought every song must probably be remixed, including Oh Father and Live To Tell! On the radio I heard Rain and that too sounded different from my cassette version. It was about a year later I started buying singles and Virgin Megastore still had tapes of Fever and Bad Girl, so I bought those. Fever had a radio mix, and again it was different from the other two versions I'd heard. Bad Girl had the William Orbit Dub of Erotica and that was absolutely mind blowing! Then I remembered back to 1990 when Justify My Love had come out and there was an MTV News report about Satanic versions of the song if you played them backwards. I tried to remember if they called them a remix or not. I managed to get the 12" singles for Like A Prayer and Justify, and though I tried to play them backwards and didn't hear any Satanic messages (much to my disappointment!), I was still thrilled to hear the 12" Club Version and The Beast Within Mix. Those were my first experiences of remixes, and they were absolutely thrilling. I never did find those mixes of Oh Father and Live To Tell that I'd imagined, but I'll Remember, Bedtime Story, Frozen... right up until the end of the American Life era was when I was an avid listener of those reworked tracks, they really satisfied a hunger. Watching The Girlie Show was also another way of experiencing remixes, albeit live ones. Erotica, Fever, Vogue, Express Yourself, Deeper and Deeper, Rain, Justify My Love, Holiday... They all sounded different compared to the album versions. Even The Beast Within was remixed! I didn't realise it at the time, but back in 1991, every time MTV showed Like A Virgin from the Blond Ambition Tour, to promote In Bed With Madonna, that too I guess was a remix. I also enjoyed the extended mixes and dubs of the 80s, but for me it was all about the 90s and the amazement of hearing all those Fever, Rescue Me, Erotica, Vogue and Deeper and Deeper mixes. What were the first ones for you and how did you come by them?
  9. Her new album came out today but no one noticed. Imagine though...
  10. @LikeAMelodyI came here to write the same thing you did. Really, how does she get through it?
  11. @FrankTotally with you on this. Does any other artist have so many fanemies (fan/enemy)? It's all so.... I can't even verbalise it because I'd have to internalise it first. Surely this can't be good for people's general mental health? I mean, coming here and going through pages makes me want to up the dose on my own meds!
  12. Interesting look. Whilst Madonna could wear a beautiful gown to show off her curves and assets, I don't think she's so interested to be appreciated for her looks but is daring to buck the trend and be different. She doesn't care what you or I think, she'll wear, do, sing and say what she wants. If we had half the balls she has to live her life so fearlessly and not give a damn what others think or say, imagine what we'd accomplish too.
  13. Personally, my favourite is the Local Mix, but I do love all of the EY mixes, this one is just epic, I wonder if there are similar unreleased ones of LAP and maybe Cherish laying around somewhere. "Baby on your own" is pitched down from the BV stem.
  14. The birthday dance with the sn... it's the thing that I'm most afraid of, I can't even spell it out, sends shivers down my spine. This woman is just fearless, is she afraid of anything???? Respect!
  15. Sorry I don't have any pics to include. Bad Girl, cat And there's also CGI I guess Takara commercial, dragon Frozen, doderman and crows Love Profusion, dragon flies, fish
  16. @EyzonmeAh thanks for that. Yeah, I really couldn't find anything either. Didn't know she was invited to the tribute though. Again, thank you.
  17. Just something I've wondered about over the years. Did they ever have a chance to meet? Although he didn't disclose his illness until the very end, it must have been known in the industry, I'm curious if she was ever aware. Did their paths ever cross? Professionally, these two would have made amazing music and given fantastic performances together, I think. I also always wondered if news of his death affected her whilst writing/recording In This Life, although I know this song was about Christopher Flyn, but by then she'd lost so many friends to Aids. Can't imagine it really. Incidentlly, just read that his coffin had been carried into the chapel whilst Aretha Franklin played. And today she passed away.
  18. There's messy editing on Unapologetic Bitch as well. But if I remember correctly, she said Diplo had lost quite a lot of the multitracks of her stuff so maybe that's why they couldn't even salvage proper edits.
  19. Happy Birthday RR Time has flown and he's grown up to be a handsome, dapper gentleman with a creative flair. She must be so proud. Wishing him all the best.
  20. "I should do a cookbook.... Oh wait, I don't cook!"
  21. "Knock, knock. Who's there? Bitch. Bitch who? Bitch I'm Madonna!" (laughs hysterically)
  22. Whilst, lyrically, I do love Heartbreak City, VVV, Ghosttown, WAOM, RH, HT and many others on this album, production-wish I would have preferred a more Patrick Leonard approach to the songs in the final versions. My favourite songs from the sessions weren't actually on the album. Never Let You Go because of the lyrics, vocals and production, even for a demo. It's just sweet and sad at the same time. A portion of the lyrics reminds me of Dancing With Myself by Schiller (whom I always wished she worked with). Tragic Girl, to me, is sublime in its lyrical content and delivery, a vulnerable quality I hadn't heard since the TPOG demo.
  23. "Kiss Drake on stage, they said. It'll be fun, they said..."
  24. "Hi Jnr, this is Madonna, again. You still haven't returned my call."
  25. "What's the words again? You sure that's one of mine?" "Guy, how about I do the whole show with the grills?"
