  2. The Justify My Love black leather waistcoat turned up a few times in 1990.
  3. 1. Have you had much direct experience with those on the autism spectrum? 2. Do you know much about synaesthesia and how it can affect the relationship between art and music? 3. Would you agree that songs with lower BPMs are richer in texture because there's more space to create those layered textures than with faster BPMs?
  4. My brother had The First Album and Like A Virgin on LP so I stole it from him eventually and those were my first. The first thing I bought for myself was Cherish 7" to hear Supernatural.
  5. You only hear what your ears want to hear.
  6. Honestly though, not a fan of anything that was released as a single for RH. Just not a fan of the work the producers did on those tracks and they didn't apoeal to me. However, had Tragic Girl been on the album, and released as a single, I'd have been one happy guy. Can't please them all. I'll just wait and see what the next album holds. The last 3 just weren't for me.
  7. I think she just needs to release a decent single. Just let the music speak for itself.

  9. Scorpion is an amazing television show. She's pretty good in it. Look forward to seeing the next season with Walter and the gang.
  10. Thanks guys. Yeah, that's what I read as well, that they never shared studio time and everything was done by Fedex probably :p But those guitars on Supernatural, the intro especially...not Pat's usual sound and is so different from their other tracks together. I actually ought to just ask Pat
  11. For a very long time I've wondered if Prince plays guitar on this curious left-over from the Like a Prayer sessions. And we know from Pat Leonard's Instagram that he had the demo tapes from the Madonna/Prince sessions, so a guitar excerpt could've easily been lifted from those tapes and incorporated into Supernatural. Unless of course the teack itself comes from Madonna and Prince's actual sessions together. I've never read anything about Prince's involvement on the track, but the intro guitar and the general funk of it...just always wondered. Anyone know for sure?
  12. Exactly, you'd think she's turned into Courtney Love durimg the 90s the way it gets talked about.
  13. Alcohol wasn't the theme of any of her shows. Not that I hugely enjoyed her recent tours, I really haven't and I don't think I'm the targeted demographic and I'm fine with that. I have other things to get on with life than wait for Madonna to change something in her life so I'd enjoy mine more. That's not really how it works. I do however think your experiences have sensitised the issue of alcohol usage and it's possible Madonna is how you're choosing to project those issues. I don't see how this becomes her issue, she's had enough to work through over the decades I'm sure, we all have. I think what she tries to do in her shows is hold up a mirror to society, hence the guns, violence, obsession with sex, celebrity etc. What we see is more who we are than who she is. And I don't think there's anything glamorous about that.
  14. I personally love the album remix on STR and detest ALL of the other remixes. For me the album remix is fresh, contained and really well done. Baffling to see all the hate for it here, but I do understand the confusion in not spotting the differences between the STR version and the LAV version. For years I haven't been able to spot the difference between the album version and remix edit of Open Your Heart.
  15. Why do these things matter to fans? Do figures validate your fandom im some way? Is it not possible to like someone's music and leave it at that? It's something I don't really understand. Surely there's more to life...
  16. M and Pat came up with LAP, a song that was originally meant to be very minimalist with vocals, choir and piano arrangement. The rest came later and this is documented in Giy Pratt's autobiography, Pat's own interviews as well as M's. What next? Ricky Martin wrote Ray of Light? Britney wrote most of American Life? 😀
  17. For me, Erotica was the only logical step considering the direction her sound and lyrics had been going in since Like a Prayer. Club beats juxtaposed with hip hop / new jack swing. That together with suggestive lyrics, innuendo and this need to be vocal about the devastating effects of AIDs, Erotica was inevitable. I loved it from the first time I listened to it, having patiently waited for it's release for what seemed like years. Even before the release the media were already mentioning the book together with the album on radio, tv and the papers. I remember Jonathan Ross referring to yet-to-be released album but mentioned the upcoming book as being an encyclopedia of sex. It was a dark time for a child to be a Madonna fan and anything to do with her became forbidden in my home, and I went to Catholic school where my classmates pretended they were puritans but were secretly dying to see and hear what all the fuss was about. By the time the tour came and Letterman, even as a child you could still see the double standards and hypocrisy of it all. She was a woman doing and saying what we didn't dare and she was being vilified for it. It was a sad reflection of the society we created. Erotica was a strong stance against this.

  22. The second one looked like an outtake but it's a fake. It's a composite.
