VogueMusic reacted to Prayer in anyone know why theres that stupid black bar at the top of self titled's artwork? its
@tscottThe black bar is part of the original design. It's not that someone forgot to crop it out, the designer decided to do it that way - hence the inclusion on the inner sleeve too.

It's part of the graphic design. It makes sense aesthetically. There are 'two bars' of text on both sides and the black area of the jumper at the bottom. (Plus the heavy filling of the bracelets) A black line balance up an wraps a frame shape around the whole thing .
It creates a geometric construction along the heavily space letters, that contrast with the lose and more dynamic lines of the photo. If you check Carin Goldberg's work (the designer behind that cover) you'll see she uses blocks and shapes a lot in her work.

@Magick Madonna's close friends share public statements, I think is nothing wrong about that and it's not looking for attention, at least not in their cases.

They all want her blessing for their own careers, a feat with her and a pic with her, but they won't post a single message about her when she needs them.
She's always been on her own in the end and it's really sad.
Of course all of them would be the first to post something if the thing that we must not mention happened.
    The star system sucks.

Love Spent was and still is my favorite.

The first time hearing it, the ABBA/Hung Up easter egg, the way it transitions into electronic bliss halfway through. Perfection. Just wish the vocals were mastered a bit better but what an amazing track. Was super happy when she began performing it on tour.

Great songs you posted.  I really like MDNA as well.  It's got some pretty solid tracks.  Really love Beautiful Killer, Falling Free, and Masterpiece too.

VogueMusic reacted to Angelo in I’m rewatching The Madame X tour and goddamn how do so many of you think this album i
How an album can be great when you have songs like: shoo-bee-do, jimmy jimmy, love makes the world go round, can't stop, i'm going bananas, cry baby, did you do it, don't stop, incredible, superstar, b-day song.
It's a matter of taste...and believe me I can listen to dark Ballet and batuka the whole day, especially the live versions.

It's an absolutely brilliant, inspired, impassioned album, with some of the best videos she's done in a long time, and a complete reinvention of her stage show. And yes, I'm saying it - the final tour film is a beautiful edit. One of her best tour films in a long time. While maybe not perfect, it was a very special era...and one that no other popular artist, male or female (especially), has the balls to pull off at that point in their career. We really are the luckiest fanbase.

Well I do think 3 hours is too long but I wouldn't be annoyed if it was a bit over two hours like 2hrs & 20mins or something.

To me it doesn't look healthy at all maybe not even for Taylor (it messes up their knees, hips, throat, it is exhausting)... also, it's not a residence stuff, they need to take the road, take planes, it is a lot of work.
It looks more reasonable to change the setlist from one city to another, from night to night, according to the country, city and the reception of the audience of course.

Also, you can't remove a surgery procedure.  You only get more to improve on (one hopes).  Anyway, I think she looks just fine.  Let's stop harping on what she's had done.  It's not going away.  Appreciate the way she is, or move on as a fan.

This was from 14 or 15 years ago - no one is going to look the same as they did 15 years ago, surgery or no surgery.

VogueMusic reacted to Roland Barthes in WTF Rolling Stone didn't include Madonna, what is this shit?!!!
Rolling Stone is not a journalistic media anymore, it's just bloggers making listicles and writting essays solely based on their impressions and not on facts. And that's not only Rolling Stones, Pitchfork etc... i know because that's my job, even in France it's like this and in England....even the BBC relies on this to make "content" on internet. I used to be paid for that only, making content on internet, no matter what you say, to attract clics thus money. Most of these publications online versions are just clicbaits now made by unpaid trainees or bloggers for free. The paper versions are the most reliable BUT there are less pages, articles are shorter, publicity takes more than half of the pages and it's more expansive than before. That's the state of printed medias nowadays we used to trust after they were bought by billionaires as a gift to their nepo babies to pretend they have a career.

VogueMusic reacted to MDRA in I notice that Madonna is not denouncing Kanye West's latest anti-semitic rants. Silen
You're joking, right? Because this has to be a joke. No, every celebrity who worked with a gross antisemite 8 or more years ago does not have to go out and denounce him. American cultural puritanism has gone too far. He's a gross piece of shit, eveyone knows he's a gross piece of shit (except well, those people...), and calling him a gross piece of shit in public is not some test of purity everyone has to pass in order to show they're against a gross piece of shit.
