  1. I'm so happy that this time she's able to release her album the way she wants to (fingers crossed)!!! I remember it was taking her so long to get RH out, and fans were getting impatient, but we know it was probably due to the fact there were, to use the phrase again, "too many cooks in the kitchen". Looking back, Rebel Heart really sounds like it was too much marketing involved from the get-go with the song titles even. Holy Water, Messiah, etc, they all sound like "typical classic Madonna song titles" IMO, no matter how much I like those songs & their titles tbh.
  2. I thought that was the most Diplo sounding song on the album aside from BIM
  3. Isn't it all Demo Castellion's fault? That's who usually gets the blame
  4. I tried keeping mine cheeky, yet somewhat tasteful. I hope no one was offended. He's grown up to be quite the handsome young man is all I meant.
  5. Turuncan. Relax. Mariah is a hit-maker (?), albeit a messy, non-creative one. THATS MY OPINION. I can't even get mad cuz all I want is a mustache ride on that sexy thing I look forward to triggering you again in the future, just please keep that AVI
  6. To be clear I'm not talking about ALL her number 1's. As for her albums, I've listened to all of them as I am a fan of Mariah, albeit a critical one. She's a hot mess, especially in recent years. She didn't impress me creatively from after Music Box till about EOM. That's not to say I didn't enjoy her music in that period, I just didn't think it deserved the hype. I wasn't a big fan of 90's R&B tbh, and she WAS VERY REPETITIVE during that time. Maybe its cuz I'm a bigger Madonna fan, & love how she experiments & does different things. Doesn't mean I didn't enjoy Mariah's stuff in that period, I enjoyed her remixes absolutely--she gets props for re-recording her vocals for her dance & house remixes, but it was a bit tired only having David Morales doing her dance remixes exclusively when there were so many other great producers out there at the time in the 90's. She only branched out when DM forced her to cuz he couldn't remix Heartbreaker. I LOVE his remixes of her, but there were missed opportunities during that time, remix wise. As for Madonna's MDNA giveaway, it was 15 years after Mariah did it by the way when the music industry had already degraded into the shit show it is now. And Gaga got so much flak for her BTW discount. As for my friend at SONY, yeah, its hearsay. Ironically, I've had the same arguments with him as I am with you here. But he was right about other things with Sony artists. But yeah, certainly not solid proof. OK, back to my cave.
  7. I'm ready for a new tour doc....as long as a bonus disc has the full show.
  8. someones triggered. Selling your singles for .99 when no one else was doing it is shady. Also I had a friend who is a HUGE mariah fan who worked at Sony at the time & he even heard things going around about the massive payola campaigns. Not saying Touch My Body wasn't legit, I didn't say ALL of her number 1's were bought. Also lets not get into Mariah and "creativity". All of her albums 1993 - 2000 sound the same.
  9. Yeah we talked about this project here before some months ago. He was doing a kickstarter to fund it before an outside party underwrote the whole thing & he cancelled the kickstarter. Wondering if it was M herself?
  10. Rihanna yes. Mariah, yes to the earlier hits. But then Sony just bought her a lot of the others thru pay-to-play. I don't consider all of Mariah's Hot 100 #1's to be legit, esp w/ her then husband being the head of Sony Music.
  11. Ryan Murphy is buying the rights for it for the fifth season of "Feud: Madonna & Chris"
  12. Kanye produced tracks on RH and was not featured on any of them. Drake could just be producing or re-tooling some tracks. His new song Now For What is kinda good, so I could be interested in hearing what he could do here.
  13. I wanna hear: Physical Attraction, Everybody, Causing A Commotion, Express Yourself (to redeem the MDNAT/TOAC/WM performances), Rain or WISH from Erotica, You'll See, Rescue Me, Frozen, something from Confessions other than Hung Up, Give It 2 Me, some Rebel Heart songs (other than BIM).
  14. Not sure if you read the article, but Ed Sheeran is the example the article used as did I. He doesn't have any pop/urban crossover potential. They also used Shawn Mendes, Camilla Cabello & Meghan Trainor as examples, with maybe Camilla only having pop/urban crossover potential. I don't agree that it only makes sense with artists who have that crossover potential. With albums like Rebel Heart with multiple styles it makes perfect sense. Especially, as I said, with an artist like Madonna who still makes fantastic music but can't get it played or charted.
  15. I read an article the other day talking about how double A-side singles are making a comeback, which if you're not familiar, is releasing two singles at the same time, the idea being to increase chances of getting a hit. The article talked about Ed Sheeran releasing Shape of You & Castle on a Hill with Shape of You ending up being the bigger hit. Anyway, Madonna should do this. Fans complain she doesn't do enough videos for release (not including tour backdrop videos), especially in recent years where artists drop videos left & right, singles or not, sometimes full visual albums; as well as the what should be the single releases. Every album she does has so many potential singles, and there've been many missed opportunities in more recent years (Beat Goes On, Beautiful Killer, Rebel Heart, Hold Tight, etc. Seeing that she has trouble charting & gettin radio play (lets not go into the bullshit reasons why, (*cough* ageism), this could be of some help. Take Rebel Heart, the double A-side single releases could've looked something like this, with videos (and hopefully remixes) for each song.: -Living For Love & Ghosttown -Bitch I'm Madonna & Hold Tight -Devil Pray & Unapologetic Bitch -Rebel Heart & Iconic This would get the album more exposure, makes fans happy/gives them more to complain & argue about (regardless, it keeps the fire burning for better or for worse lol). The more songs the general public gets to hear, the greater the chances something takes off & increase her chances of charting & having another big hit. Just throw it all at the wall & see what sticks! The music industry is a shit show, and that's not even getting into ageism, etc. A release plan like this could only help IMO. Edit: here's the article: http://www.officialcharts.com/chart-news/is-the-double-a-side-making-a-comeback-dual-singles-are-on-the-rise-and-heres-why__23074/
  16. I LOVE it. Honestly, when she said she was moving to Lisbon & was inspired by it for the new album I was hoping for something like this to get in the mix!
  17. To name your first tour the Virgin Tour, they should've known right there she was a genius. I know it was supporting the album and maybe a no brainer but my 13 year old gay ass was like "OMG so clever!" when i first saw that tour a few years later.
  18. My friends and I have always said Rocco wrote than line.
  19. @Liam this is a madonna forum thats what we all do...nit pick. We just don't all agree on our individual nitpicking. keeps it interesting. But bottom line, yeah, remember to chill & enjoy the music!
  20. LSD & ecstasy aren't really drugs people get addicted to. Not saying it doesn't happen, just not very probable. Opioids? Crystal Meth? Cocaine? Cigarretes? Very addictive. Stay away.
