She need that exposition most of her youngest competitors aren't doing great with new single and album. Release something without a big promotion will kill the single immediately.

Your example are songs that don't need any level of poetry to be valid. The whole reason of why Madonna became so big it's proprably because she was always capable of making song with simple lyrics but with a strong impact. Holiday, everybody, into the groove are all song with lyrics so simple that everybody can connect with, and that's the essence of popular music. Simple lyrics are not necessarly bad or less meaningful that lyrics more poetry. Where life begins for example is a song about orale Sex for women. Admit in a song for a women in the 90s that she want a partner that satisfay her in that way after a day of work (like most Men in the past that come back home after work and find her wife ready to do it) it's not so ordinary. Sometimes songs can assume new meaning in some contest. Michael dango explain in his book why Erotica was so related with AIDS even though only one song really talk about it. By the way she is co-writing her songs not every songs but if she decided to sing that means she found those right and her catalogue is full with poetic lyrics.

That is not always true. Singing live is something that could damage your voice if you do it night after night after night. In the past most singer, like Streisand, didn't do live tour with 70/80 dates. If we want to see our favorite singers live in our country we have to deal with the fact that something could be lipped and something could be live but with some flaws, especially for those who are not young anymore. For me Madonna could not sing one note and still be amazing at her age. We have to stop pretending that those artist do their job like robot only because we paid a lot for the tickets. No one Force us to buy it.

I think the lateness it’s bad but some people made it worse than it actually is. She is 65 and has some healthy problem (and we don’t know every detail, at her age she can have more than one problem), her children are on stage with her and we don’t know if they’re good or bad if they’re ready with her or not. Maybe all this sounds like an excuse for most of the people, for me are just facts. Behind a show like this there are a lot of humans. Anyway I think some people take this too much seriously. You will go at a concert one time (most of the people don’t go on multiple dates), even if she starts late and finishes late i think for one time if you sleep less than usual it’s not the end of the world. I don’t think we all always go to work in our 100%, there are days that we feel less productive but we go on the same. Or maybe sometimes we have to go to a party or a dinner in the middle of the week, finishing late and the day after we go to work like everyone. Don’t make it so tragic, we are in the middle of the tour still talking about this subject maybe if we stop complaining about it the media will do the same. Am I wrong or the background vocals were really quiet in NYC? In everybody (only the chorus is lipped) and hung up you can clearly hear her live voice, in the European show wasn’t so evident.
