While I agree it's aggressively expensive, proceeds are going to the Malawi fund.  I think we can't forget that.  Still, I do wonder if it's priced more reasonably, more shirts will be sold.  I know there are some who will buy it at whatever price, but $150.00 is a bit much for a t-shirt. No t-shirt costs that much to make, so the mark up is high.  My only defense here is they weren't sure how well it would sell, so they priced it high to make sure they made money from it.  I can understand that because like mentioned some fans will pay anything.  But fans like me, we tend to put limit on the merchandise she sells.  :)

I feel that. I think the whole price of things are so odd with the merch. In January, the BAT bomber was $340 USD on the madonna website. As a Canadian, if I purchased it, with the conversion I would have had to pay close to $500 Canadian for it. Yet at the show in Toronto the jacket was $300 Canadian... I was floored.

The point that I’m trying to make is that I do too experience a great show, yes the whole atmosphere in super influential, and I’ve never been on the Madonna should be a better vocalist crowd, but when I see some videos, I wonder what the hell is happening? how I didn’t notice those bad notes on the live experience? Everyone complained about TAB and I loved it

One of my hypotheses is that sound recording hasn’t evolved as video because of the way both sources behave in real life, so maybe some flaws can be exaggerated when watching things on YouTube…

Thats it. I truly don’t care about Madonna live vocals to keep this discussion going, but just wanted to make that clear, so sister peace

But that's just it, you've nailed it. And again, that is my point. When you're there you are so immersed in the experience, all imperfections don't matter. And that is a beautiful thing to experience. That we all go as massive fans and are just taking it all in. And I love that for us.

It very well may be the compression of the videos on Youtube because I sit back and am like, holy crap the sound is shit. But I look at mine uploaded from my phone and I say hang on... because I know YT compresses shit and everything can sound wacky.

Anyway. We agree. So there :Madonna004:

I don’t understand what you’re saying then except:

To be quite honest sound captured on iPhone 15 Pro Max is pretty freakin amazing, considering what's built in. I don't honestly think the imperfections captured are false at all. If anything they highten the imperfections. My CT videos are as clear as day vocally. You can hear everything - as well as every imperfection vocally”

But anyway Holiday to you too and Mazel Tov as well

I was just stating I feel the videos I took captured great sound. To me anyway. Yolo. And though you can hear imperfections in her voice, when you're in the moment at the show I didn't notice it. You don't think of it because it's so surreal. That was my original point. I think. I thought I would hear imperfections but you just don't think of it when you're experiencing it in person. That's all. It's not deep. Thanks for the quote :Madonna055:  mazel tov sister.

We also understand that the microphones of a phone are shit right?, the uneven surfaces and environment, the way the sound travels is extremely different and complex, not at all as the way light behaves.

When was the last time you heard new and improved microphones on your new iPhone???

While image can pretty easily be captured, sound is not, so before being forgiving we must think about physics for example…

I mean sure. To be quite honest sound captured on iPhone 15 Pro Max is pretty freakin amazing, considering what's built in. I don't honestly think the imperfections captured are false at all. If anything they highten the imperfections. My CT videos are as clear as day vocally. You can hear everything - as well as every imperfection vocally.

What I meant was, when you're attending the show, in person, you don't think of that. As a vocalist myself I didn't think of that. In the moment it's so surreal you don't even hear it. Everything you see and hear in that moment is perfection. Maybe its me lol.

I know,  many people feel like EY deserved a performance in full mode and I understand what you mean about the imaginary of it. At the same time, you know, I always felt that the positive vibes of the album version had something special and this acoustic so unexpected and nicely executed folk version makes me feel it in a way. So, personally, I'm ok also with the acoustic tribute we got. Definitely agree about LAP and, as I wrote in my post, about the time dedicated to the catholic theme.

Thanks for your answer man, I'm in a closing mood with this tour and I think that final feelings and opinions are the most interesting ones, cause we completely know and understand the project and at the same time it's not passed and old yet :cute:

You know I was almost certain she would have done the album version, after Miley's Pandemic Pride concert she did and everyone raved about it. And I always detested accoustic versions of EY. But I must say, seeing it in person on this tour and the lights and her mood... it was definitely something special that I'll never forget. So I guess I did get my EY after all :)

This is interesting ... I don't know how could it work honestly, as the meaning and the mood of the set was pretty coherent with DCFMA, but Music would really deserve her spot in the show. I would love it to be the finale guys, it's so much her place getting the playa jumping and screaming

ANYWAY, starting by that, I have a curiosity now, whoever will be so kind to answer :cute: The Celebration tour is basically perfect and (except the Take a bow catastrophe of course: #copacabanaforrain ) I never wanted to add stupid personal stuff to spoil the experience and the joy everybody felt in these months. At the same time, the tour is ending now and I'm very curious to know: if you could change, add, cut just two things to arrange the show to your personal taste even more, what would they be? Just two, in the structure M wanted and created for her show.

Mine are (considering Rain or Frozen for the last segment, as originally conceived)

    1. Cutting BIM and getting to Music when she gets the central stage, dancing it with all the cast for a bigger and more impactful finale
    2. I'm a great supporter and fan of the 80% of Madame X and I think that the catholic religion segment should have been a little longer. So after LAP I would have loved a one minute and a half performance of Dark Ballet, with Christ and the damned souls becoming oppressors on her. I think the sound of the Act of Contriction reversed choir and the Prince's electric guitar solo entering on the dramatic piano closing of Dark Ballet would have created an even more powerful effect of pain, violence and sacredness.

1 - I guess... all in all, for me... #justiceforexpressyourself.

2 - I completely understand the message behind LAP... but it just didn't deserve to be so damn short. And same with Vogue. I GET the theme... But this was a hard blow.

Again, I GET the theme, and I loved every second of it. She is insanely theatrical, and it showed. Unfortunately the theatrics ultimately sacrificed two of her most massively acclaimed hits in this show, that deserved a full track.

    But slay get it mama.

  7. How many days does she have for rehearsal for this new stage? I wonder if some things wouldn't work with the current set up? I think this version of the show will be amazing for her as it would be a new switch up. Let's face it, she's tired. It's the long-show curse. I've experienced this in theatre doing contact shows for 7 months. We would have died for a switch up at some point. So I have a feeling some things/numbers would be modified, and I think this is her chance to go out with a bang rather than keep it the same. I could be wrong. Probably. But this could get her juices flowing. Hallelu

Thats great. But i'm still sad that it wasn't filmed in LA cause she was on fire there + the kylie moment was so iconic

I mean, HOPEFULLY we get a cohesive concert on the same date. But I honestly think Vogue will be chopped to the NINES trying to showcase all of the guests she had each show. It's almost a given.

I also can't wait for all of us to point out the different shows based on the blonde wig section  😂

It’s wild to me how different the sound is from up- close videos. I don’t know if it’s the type of device used, this is FABULOUS video. But up close videos the sound always is sooo echoey. I wasn’t super close to the stage but to those who were, was the sound kinda bad and not clear? I’m so curious.

I think she will put Music there.

As much as I'd like Music to be featured in the show I just can't see her replacing her opening number lol. But who knows. I just really feel that the message behind the opening is perfect for her appreciation with her fans. But music does have a great vibe to kick off a beach party. We both could be suckers and she'll open with Batuka 💀

We know that Anita will be there and that the show will include many songs from Madame X. (The Portuguese songs since it’s the primary language spoken in Brazil.)

these are the songs I think will be deleted/replaced:

    Bad Girl

    Nothing Really Matters

    Frozen/Rain

    I Will Survive

    Bedtime Story

    Like a Virgin

    Justify My Love

    Human Nature

    Crazy for You

Babes do you honestly think she'd get rid of her opening number.

They said it with Madame X as well.

Madonna has made it clear on many occasions that she intends to keep performing until she drops dead. Of course she will slow down but she’s not going to stop doing this. I actually wouldn’t be surprised if she aims for a stadium tour next time around.

Very true. Madame X was an absolute shit show for her, health wise. It scared me. And I know it scared her too. She pushed through a major injury and had many cancelled shows...  and in the end it ended up being catastrophic health wise. I really hope that was a wake up call for her. I'm sure it was but in the end it's that one tale of "listen to your body". I would hate for her to experience that again. And I'm sure she felt so defeated over it. But she's on some trajectory now where it's like she's more in tune than she's ever been. You SEE she wants to keep doing this. You look at her on stage and you just know she's back in action. And when things don't go as planned she's deep in her roots of "find Keith a new asshole".

I think a lot of people would like to forget Madame X... as in the end it was the era in which we almost lost her. But her PASSION through it... omg. She loved the MX era. She loved being so creative. Ultimately the main thing was for her to listen to her body, and she has now. I know after this tour is over she will continue to dominate.

Ahah guys nobody was properly talking about her retiring. It all went out from the simple speculation you can read in these posts. It was just about imagining the I'll remember meaning as the closer of the show. And I wrote my post (the second one) meaning I don't think it's her spirit: the "goodbye"/"bow"/"remember" stuff could maybe be staged as a finale when/if she will retire.

I don't think she is gonna retire at all, as you know I'm waiting for NEW FUCKING MUSIIIIIC!!!!!!!

Oh yes babes I wasn't agreeing with the retiring thing, I just never thought how well IR would be such a fabulous emotional closing for a show of this calibre. Would be so fitting. It would be a different high than a banger. It would kind of be a form of understanding, seeing how emotional she'd been on this tour, it would bring us right back in and go off with that sense of love and that she's ending the show with that amount of understanding through IR. Just a thought hehehe.
