  1. I really love the MDNA version of the song (I thought it was one of the best things about the MDNA Tour actually). It made me listen to the song in a total new light which I really appreciate since I'm just SO familiar with the album version from decades ago.
  2. What an absolute great read! Thank you for sharing.
  3. I agree. I can't personally attend either, purely because of money for both tickets and travel/stay. But man, ease up guys. I'm sure it's a learning curve even for Madonna. There's always the DVD/BluRay. That's how I saw most of her tours and I'm not complaining. I'm still getting the entire set of releases this era. Why? Coz i'm sure it's good music whether or not Madonna's tour plans jive with my consumer ethics or what. Breathe in. Breathe out. It's only music.
  4. Man, that's difficult. I love all of the tracks. I even think Act of Contrition is the track that makes the whole record. Just imagining Madonna at the pearly gates in heaven: "I HAVE a reservation!!" - it cracks me up every time. Oh and I quite like Prince, so I have a high tolerance for Love Song. So even if I list Cherish as my LEAST favorite, it's still like an A minus competing with A plusses. But anyway: Like a Prayer Till Death Do Us Part Oh Father Promise to Try Spanish Eyes Express Yourself Dear Jessie Keep It Together Love Song Act of Contrition Cherish
  5. It's pretty obvious to say this about the woman who made Vogue, but damn, the girl can pose.
  6. I remember reading that back in the day and not really liking it. If I remember correctly I thought the author cast Madonna as a bit of a cynical and shallow woman.
  7. The Sex book is of course a no-brainer. I've had that one since the late nineties and I really like it.
  8. I'm gonna buy that one. It sounds exactly what I'm looking for!
  9. Hey gang. There is a ton of garbage books on our lady out there and sifting through them could potentially be a long journey and definitely a really expensive one, so I’m hoping some of you might have some good recommendations for some great books on Madonna for me to invest in.. I’m sorta into two kinds of books: The glitzy, well produced photo books appeal to me, but also the more in-depth historical ones (and if you know of any analytical ones that goes into the song writing and production, then please, please tell me). I’m not at all interested in the gossipy, low quality pulp books, nor the back-stabbing "I used to be this and that to Madonna"-ones though. And so with that in mind: Can you recommend me a good book?
  10. Great thread! Nice to see some positivity even if I've found the 2010s quite underwhelming myself, but still there's been lots of stuff for me to love. I especially love how she moved into film making and I hope, hope, hope that if she ever stops recording that she'll make hundreds of films (and maybe be ever as daring in subject and form as she's been in her music career?)
  11. I was in a physically abusive relationship and after that ended (thank God) I wasn't really much of a person any more. That's when I kept finding myself reaching out for Music on the shelf. Something about escapism and enjoying the moment, even if it's three minutes and twenty two seconds a a time. Yeah, it probably sounds trite.
  12. Thank you for all the work you're putting into this forum. It's really appreciated!
