LikeAMelody got a reaction from ChromaticanMondasia in Madonna on Instagram / Facebook / Twitter + other Social Media
Great album.
The wait for a new album is torture. One of the things I used to love about Madonna is that she embraced the spirit as well as the physical. I love her dance music but usually gravitate towards more story like songs. Confessions balances both these strengths perfectly.
I thought she would say more as she got older but she seems to be pushing herself physically more. I think when she was younger her physical fitness wasn't challenged as much by age and so she felt more free to speak? Not having to worry about that part of her ability?
I wish she would speak more and she does that mostly on her albums.

LikeAMelody got a reaction from McDonna in NEW ALBUM?
I always thought it was more of a concept album inspired by her role in Dick Tracy.
Movies were always a great inspiration for her. Some of her best songs were written for films despite the lack of recognition by those who give out awards for films.

How they only show M performing Holiday and talk about Vogue for 10 seconds.... like what?! She's literally dabbled in every single genre of dance there ever was.

I really wished Madonna released more music and visuals the past decade than she has social media posts because oh my days can you imagine what she could've pushed 2010-present not saying she had to tour with each specific album ....she didn't either bedtine stories and day of light after all
But krikey can you imagine the material when you look at swift and Beyonce now what they're doing

"Who do you think you are?"
"Someone said that romance was dead
And I believed it instead of remembering..."
"Turn to stone
Lose my faith
I'll be gone
Before it happens"
"You will find the gate that's open
Even though your spirit's broken"
"This world is not so kind
People trap your mind"
"I was so blind
I could not see
Your paradise
Is not for me"

Madonna had said she didn't get ripping up a picture of a man who meant so much to others. It's like throwing everything out because of criminal activity and the cover up that had occurred within the organization that the Pope represents. Did Pope John Paul II commit crimes or deliberately cover up a crime he was aware of? If so, than it was justified.
It's kinda like ripping up a picture of a Doctor whose a leader because crimes were committed in the medical field.
I love Sinead and understand what she was trying to say but Madonna is not cheap and shallow. She looks at things in a very complex way that people who indulge in all or nothing thinking can not because they focus on the damage that was done to them all the time.
I think you would be shocked how many survivors there really are and who their abusers were.

Yeah... Looking back to the past, I think it's easy to create a narrative that Madonna was making fun or whatever... that's the danger of making judgments when looking back from your standpoint in the very different future. I think Madonna was perhaps trying to bring the heat down (on Sinead) a bit and show her inner comedian by referencing the two things people were talking about that month. Had Madonna tackled the issue of rape in the church herself she likely would have done it in a different, more elegant way perhaps... but maybe not. Madonna was probably just excited that she wasn't the punching bag for a second (after releasing Erotica/SEX) and thought she could win back America with humor. She was also one of the only people actively going through her own backlash at the time. So also, maybe her intentions were skewed a bit and shouldn't be judged so harshly. Again... this is the danger of looking back with black and white expectations when life is complicated.
