  1. I forgot Nothing Fails!!!! It would tie with I F*cked Up, as I could do without it, but Nothing Fails would have to be in my top ten. It's beautiful, much like the other ballads released with every album.
  2. I was really thinking "Dancing" was pretty common. I'm her catalogue but I can't find any??? Smart move saying dancing instead of dance!
  3. I always loved this track. Like A Prayer was always a lost cause to me in content. It's singles (exclude Dear Jessie please) were solid and I felt like more could have been done. Analyzing religion and more angrier songs based upon her divorce should have been present. Aside from that little tangent, Act of Contrition left me stupid afterwards. It made no sense and sounded more like a feverish jumble of prayer and guilt. The ending is what gives it the character it has. What reservation was she yelling about and where was she? I love your dissection! I had thought of the restaurant before. I'd even gone as far to assume maybe that she was singing and someone in the background said some about a song missing in the computer and she abruptly freak if out, lol.
  4. 1. Rebel Heart 2. Madonna 3. Confessions 4. Hard Candy 5. MDNA 6. Ray of Light 7. American Life 8. Bedtime Story 9. Like A Virgin 10. Music 11. Erotica 12. True Blue 13. Like A Prayer
  5. So I'll go ahead and tell you a portion of my track list! Disk Four: Confessions Era-Rebel Heart Era Jump (Radio Edit) Get Together (Radio Edit) Sorry (Radio Edit) Hung Up (Radio Edit US) 4 Minutes (radio Edit) Miles Away (Radio Edit) Give It 2 Me (Edit) Celebration (Benassi Remix) Revolver (David Guetta Remix) Girl Gone Wild (Album) Turn Up The Radio (Album w/MDNA Intro) Give Me All Your Luvin' (Album Clean) Masterpiece (Album) Living For Love (Album or Grammy's Version) Ghosttown (Album) B*tch I'm Madonna (Diplo Mix) Unapologetic B*tch (Album Clean w/ RHT Intro) Devil Pray (Edit w/ Stronger Drop) Rebel Heart (Demo 2 Edit) Holiday (Fare Soldi Remix) This disk comes out with an 75 minutes of songs... Still room for another song or any dramatics stuff I wanna do. Jump-4 Minutes are mixed enough to allow disco trip! Give It 2 Me-GMAYL are mixed. Living for Love-Unapologetic B*tch are mixed. Between Rebel Heart and Holiday is a pause. Letting Holiday stand in contrast to the speedy transitions of the rest of the songs. Again, Disk 2 is being a pain, but until I start editing individual songs, I won't know the track listing for it or Disk 3. So what do you think so far?
  6. It pretty much comes down to the fact that Warner was done with her and she was done with them. Why put much more energy into something than necessary. Which is why I think trying to edit the songs to get them a new flavor was perhaps not given much time a day. They probably hoped it would t be scrutinized by anyone... Well that didn't happen obviously. For me it helped not having to take some of her older stuff and do full out face lifts. But Dress You Up has bothered me ever since I found out they cut the beginning just slightly.
  7. Love that article, been using it to navigate what was worth reusing for future stuff.
  8. The bass? Listening to it in the car this week and Celebration ain't got enough bass! Lol
  9. Ooof! Lol, the only track list that I'm satisfied with on VVV is disk four. It starts with confessions (the singles mixed for a disco ride) and then ending with Rebel Heart.... With some quiet before Holiday kicks in to finish off the whole shabang. Where I'm hung up (lol) at is disk 2 with the early nineties. It gets so clustered that it ruins my original plans to have Like a Prayer through Bedtime Story on it.
  10. No GMAYL was tailored for that performance! But yes Hung Up, 4 Minutes, and Ray of Light were also meant for that performance! I really ought to share my version of what should have been the halftime show. A longer medley of her earlier classics with Express Yourself and Open Your Heart would have been amazing!
  11. Even with a rights issue, her current stuff like B*tch I'm Madonna would be a great hit in all the bright colors it's Music Video already had! Especially more recent stuff should be more easily picked up, but maybe she herself doesn't seem to care for it. She just needs her own game, no sharing the spotlight. I'm sure she would go for that!
  12. Been wondering for a long time! Why has none of her hits ever shown up in dance games like Just Dance? I know Holiday did once but it wasn't even a version with her vocals. They had someone else singing. What gives? If there's anything I can dance to, it's Madonna!
  13. Pharrell and Timbaland have a certain sound to them, and unfortunately everything they touch picks up the sound. I'm sure it was a kind gesture, but gosh I wish she'd get back in the studio!
  14. And that's fine and dandy for a future release, but Celebration was never meant for that. I'm makin my own Veni Vidi Vici collection with the majority of her singles if not all, but it's a tall order when the first half of the 90s was an explosion of singles, lol
  15. So I honestly get where they were coming from on Celebration, and I personally am fine with no chronological order. But where this should have show Madonna's ability reinvent herself on a dime, it came out a mess according to many. It certainly isn't one I listen to in whole as opposed to IC. However, heres my shot at salvaging the concept and expanding it. Its messy as I haven't refined it or decided what mixes to use or if they are in the order I want them (you'll see (lol) when you get to disk 2 and 3) Disk One consists of her strongest dance songs (the majority being her greatest hits). Disk Two is Love oriented (heartbreak into love into desire). Disk Three is more open and vague but follows the two main themes of personal and political. Two or three love songs got mixed in but if placed right I don't think they are too much of eyesores. Disk One (Dance) 1. Hung Up 2. Music 3. Vogue 4. Everybody 5. Holiday 6. Ray of Light 7. 4 Minutes 8. Who’s That Girl 9. Bedtime Story 10. Give It 2 Me 11. Sorry 12. Into The Groove 13. Material Girl 14. Causing A Commotion 15. Like A Prayer 16. Deeper & Deeper 17. La Isla Bonita 18. Celebration Disk Two (Love) 1. Frozen 2. True Blue 3. Miles Away 4. Rain 5. I’ll Remember 6. Dress You Up 7. Cherish 8. Like A Virgin 9. Borderline 10. Crazy For You 11. Lucky Star 12. Open Your Heart 13. Burning Up 14. Fever 15. Erotica 16. Justify My Love 17. Beautiful Stranger 18. Revolver Disk Three (Personal/Political) 1. Oh Father 2. Papa Don’t Preach 3. Live To Tell 4. Nothing Really Matters 5. What it Feels Like For A Girl 6. Express Yourself 7. Human Nature 8. Don’t Tell Me 9. This Used To Be My Playground 10. American pie 11. Hollywood 12. You’ll See 13. Bad Girl 14. Rescue Me 15. Take A Bow 16. Die Another Day 17. American Life 18. It’s So Cool *I attempted to leave out any songs that didn't chart US wise. Miles Away I believe is supposed to be here. Celebration followed one year after Hard Candy and I think it was meant as a reminder of it. Sadly I did not include Love Profusion and Get Together which I love, but the love section was already bursting and they weren't necessary for this concept to work. Also to hit home on each category, I capped each disk off with one of three of the new songs. I didn't bother with Broken since all four of the new songs I always carry over to MDNA where they fit snug, so I don't feel bad with it not present here.
  16. Also maybe a compilation of all her Spanish influenced songs and then one focused around time, as that is a subject is woven throughout her career. The idea of out doing time or constantly remembering its presence.
  17. Also another great idea is to compile all her religious themed songs. I'd call it Black Madonna, as she probably won't actually use that title for a full studio album.
  18. So I'm looking for advice, help, or whatever on an issue. I'm making a compilation called Veni Vidi Vici, but I'm wanting to use some songs from her early albums that have not been redone since their release. I've been using Audacity to working with mixing and editting music for a year now but the thing have yet to fully understand is reworking old untouhed song up to current music standards. Take Angel for example. I can boost with bass, treble, and even amplify but they just don't sound like what we get in Celebration when they revisited older songs (when they did it right that is). Anyone know how I can restore, or whatever you want to call it, old songs and get them sounding fresh?
  19. I think that is part of designing. Are you talking about like artwork? Because thats cool too!
  20. I don't have it plotted out, but a compilation of all the songs devoted to Guy Ritchie would be cool. The transition from love to suspicion to heart break to anger.
