  1. It would be nice for her to release a tour book. I am very certain she will. She did delay the release for her book for the MXT. She's released tour programs for every tour of hers. It may take a while. I can also see her possibly releasing a coffee table book instead of a tour book or in addition to one because we're talking about 40 years. She would have a lot to include in a book, so maybe she'll release a coffee table book or both!
  2. Hi, everyone! I just wanted to put a disclaimer, but if you are uncomfortable with spoilers, please don't read any further. We'll be listing and categorizing some of our observations regarding her tour! I thought I'd create a separate post where we can list all the details, the Easter eggs, and the self-references Madonna's made so far on her tour. I'm sure she'd appreciate our attention to her details and the knowledge we have about her. I don't see her until February 1st in Chicago, but I'm fine with spoilers. After watching some of her performances on YouTube, I have been in awe with some of her self-references whether big or small. There may be things some of us spotted that would be fun and worth sharing! I can list some of the things I've noticed so far, and you're all more than welcome to list other observations and categorize them however you'd like. I can eventually add spoilers if the lists get too long when we're continuously adding so many things onto them. I'll do my best to update this post by including your listed observations in the comments. This will be fun, and I think it'll help fans attending her show to be more attentive and more aware of what she's presenting and why. Think of it as a guide or maybe even a scavenger hunt where fans can use this to enjoy her story, her history, and her legacy at her shows. Thanks! EARLIER DAYS: The stage is set up as the grids in the Manhattan neighborhood as well as the wedding cake from her VMA's performance of Like a Virgin. She references her rock band days by sharing how she learned to play guitar and the first song she performed with a guitar (because she originally played drums) was Burning Up. She references Danceteria (her first gig) and The Sound Factory (where she was introduced to the ballroom scene) in her ticket sections/seating. Regarding seating/tickets, she also references: You Can Dance (the lyric in Into the Groove and the remix album) Where's the Party from True Blue The Immaculate Collection MUSIC: She uses the demo version (Pre-Madonna) of Burning Up. She uses parts of the demo version of Erotica (You Thrill Me) that she also performed in the Confessions Tour. She seems to perform songs like I Will Survive, Die Another Day, and Mother and Father that talk about survival, life, and death. She's been very open about how fortunate and grateful she is to still be alive after what happened earlier this year. CHOREOGRAPHY: She uses some of the original tour choreography of Open Your Heart used in the Blond Ambition Tour with the body double who's supposed to represent her old version. During that section, you can see Madonna's dancer, who is playing her older version, performing the same choreography for her live performance of Like a Virgin from the Blond Ambition Tour -- the infamous performance that made headlines because she stimulated masturbation, and authorities threatened to arrest her for doing so at her Toronto show (see Madonna: Truth or Dare). She does some of the original choreography from the Don't Tell Me music video. She uses some of the original choreography from the Hung Up music video and Confessions Tour. IMAGERY/ARTWORK: When she performs Burning Up, you see the many of the pictures that were put together as a collage for the single artwork used for the EP. The artwork was made by her friend, Martin Burgoyne (R.I.P.). There is some subtle details from the Bedtime Story music video in the backdrop (the backdrop displayed on the cube she performs on), specifically the eyes that you see in the beginning of the music video. Similar to the video, she's performing on top of a platform while resting. You see Madonna wearing the "Om" symbol on one of her palms like she did in the Frozen music video when she's performing Nothing Really Matters. COSTUMES/FASHION: Jean Paul Gaultier. Enough said! You can spot the corsets he made. She wears new black one, and one of her dancers who plays the old version of her from the past wears the famous one she wore during the Blond Ambition Tour. Her dancer meant to represent her older version also wears a similar latex outfit to the one worn in Human Nature. Bob the Drag Queen references the VMA's performance of Vogue with the costume. Bob the Drag Queen references and wears a similar outfit to the one she wore for the Erotica music video as Dita. This is one of the backdrops. It seems like the outfit that Madonna wears during Nothing Really Matters is a blend of both her kimono from the Nothing Really Matters music video and the gothic look she wore for the Frozen music video. I'd also add that the jewelry she's wearing is meant to look like Mary's halo, since Madonna would reference religion throughout her career, and well, the obvious that Madonna is used as another name for the Virgin Mary. The outfit she wears during the boxing segment is a bit of an homage to her Hard Candy era and Sticky & Sweet Tour. She wears western attire as a nod to her Music era and Don't Tell Me music video. When she and her dancers are performing Hung Up/Hung Up on Tokischa, her dancers are wearing similar outfits worn at the Blond Ambition Tour during her live performance of Express Yourself. During the encore, all her dancers are wearing costumes/drag similar to the outfits she's worn in the past: MUSIC VIDEOS: Like a Virgin dress Material Girl/Marilyn Monroe dress La Isla Bonita red dress Erotica/Dita outfit Latex Human Nature outfit Frozen outfit Nothing Really Matters red kimono Music outfit Hung Up pink leotard MOVIES: A League of Their Own baseball outfit EVENTS: 2013 MET Gala punk outfit Jean Paul Gaultier outfit from his fashion show in 1992 1992 Sex pre-release party costume as Little Bo Peep LIVE PERFORMANCES: Vogue VMA performance dress Vogue outfit from the Girlie Show Express Yourself disco outfit from the Girlie Show Equestrian outfit from the Confessions Tour Sticky & Sweet Tour Give It 2 Me outfit 2012 Super Bowl half-time show Vogue outfit MEANINGFUL RELATIONSHIPS: During Live to Tell, she pays tribute to those who died of HIV/AIDS. She similarly did that during the Girlie Show with In This Life. Her closed loved ones like Martin Burgoyne (see above) are shown in the montage of photos. She pays tribute to Michael Jackson with a backdrop of her silhouette and his silhouette where they're having a bit of a fun dance battle to Like a Virgin and Billie Jean. Her silhouette is seen wearing the Like a Virgin dress. It's also a reference to the mashup she played at her Like a Virgin Tour. She then uses Angel to end the tribute. She has a dancer wearing a purple outfit to pay homage to Prince when she and her dancers are performing Like a Prayer. This a nod or a tribute, since he contributed to the production of the song. This is what I have so far from what I've seen, but please feel free to share more! Also, let me know if there are additions or corrections to make!
  3. Some of these are pretty nice. It's nice seeing them being blended, where there is the True Blue Madonna wearing the Madame X eye patch. I did get a vibe that the art direction for this tour is pretty retro and grungy. It isn't for everyone. There are parts of the tour based on clips that seemed all over the place, but I think that's the point. I think people might find it tacky, but it's definitely an art movement, and I think it was around the 80s. Some of these remind me of her Interview Magazine from years ago.
  4. I have a feeling she may perform a song here and there to treat fans at her concerts around the globe. Fingers crossed she does so! She gets bored easily, so we'll see if she rehearsed them to do so in future shows.
  5. I'll be seeing her in Chicago February 1st. I'm thinking about dressing up as Dita but with a bit of a modern twist to it.
  6. I'm glad she is okay and is recovering. I am surprised that she was hospitalized since Saturday, since she's so active on social media. I don't think there really is anything to speculate. I don't think Guy owed anyone an update. It's nice he did, though. It was her health, and she has the right to her privacy. Had they said anything prior, it would have caused more panic from the general public. Some people just want privacy. TMZ sadly pays healthcare professionals to leak stuff, and healthcare workers are willing to break HIPAA compliances to share news stories for money. That's how people found out MJ died. I'm really surprised her confidentiality/privacy were respected. She's a workaholic. She's been rehearsing. She's a perfectionist. She has a work ethic. By the sounds of it, if she was intubated, she might have had sepsis. I'm glad she's okay and is recovering. I'm glad she had people near her to seek immediate care and support if there was a moment she was unresponsive. That's really sweet of Lola being there for her. She raised her kids well. Her health is a priority. If it means postponing her show and rescheduling dates, so be it. I'm glad I paid insurance for my ticket since I was more worried about COVID-19 when I bought them. She needs to be her best and feel her best to do her best. She deserves to rest. I'm glad she's well and was able to be discharged. We've lost so many legends along the way, and there aren't many people from her generation who are alive and people from this generation with that kind of status and talent. Not going to lie, but it would be pretty fitting if she does perform Give It 2 Me now more than ever. She's dealt with sexual assault in the past, alleged domestic violence, loss of a parent and recently a sibling, homelessness when she came to NY with financial instability, a horseback riding injury, physical injuries and still performed at the Madame X Tour before receiving surgery, experienced COVID-19, and now this. Girl is tough as hell and resilient is an understatement.
  7. I doubt she's releasing a new album before the tour. I can't imagine her managing rehearsals for the tour and learning choreography and everything while still making new music. I know she is capable since she did MDNA when she also did W.E and rehearsed for the tour and Super Bowl, but that's overkill. I do think she'll give us the dance/house album she hinted a while ago but later. She might release a song or two before the tour. I do think since she's released her remix compilation album last year, she's going to release another compilation album like Celebration to celebrate her 40 years. That seems more realistic and it makes sense with the concept for this tour. I can see her performing them at her tour, too. Madonna's been there and done that. Every album is a different genre. She gave us 80's pop, pop-rock, dance, jazz, swing, (deep) house, R&B, hip-hop, world, electronic(a), folktronica, musicals, ballads, disco, EDM, trap, Latin, art pop, etc. I'm surprised but not surprised she's collaborating with Max. I think she's at a point in her life where she did everything and is just doing things for the fun of it hence her new remakes of Frozen, Material Girl, Vogue, and Hung Up. I do wonder and think she might re-release old classic singles and remix them with new artists like a tribute/collaboration. Sure, he's mainstream and the top-40 producer, but she's also collaborated with Timbaland, Pharrell, Avicii, Diplo, and other mainstream producers. She is here to stay, and it's not like she is trying to get a hit. Whether or not her songs make the top 40, she isn't going anywhere, and she has no one to prove. I think she's just enjoying herself now. She paved the way, and if anything, it's just full circle that she continues to reinvent herself and carry inspiration from new, younger, and upcoming generations/trends/sounds that she inspired herself. It's also a smart business move to keep up to date to gain attraction from younger folks with TikTok and IG with her posts/sped up songs, and songs being less than 3 minutes.
  8. With all the drama between Hailey and Selena over Justin Bieber, maybe people are using the song to talk about how Hailey isn't Selena. I don't use TikTok, but this drama has been going on for like 3 weeks, so it could be fitting.
  9. It's like Italian Americans who are proud of and celebrate Christopher Columbus, even though he and his followers colonized, killed, and raped people. Now, it's not a national holiday in the U.S. and is now Indigenous Peoples' Day. Point is, most, if not all cultures, have something to not be proud of. It's just history. It's fact. People who aren't easily defensive can think critically and find nuance. If anything, I find it more patriotic to acknowledge both the good and the bad with a country and still try making it better, but, for example, American republicans struggle with that.
  10. No offense, but the xenophobia, racism, and Islamophobia aren't cute. You're also using "whataboutism" to deflect from us critiquing (rightfully so) the monarchy. You're talking about religious extremism. The U.S. is going through the same with the drag show bans, creating trans panic, and by taking rights away from the trans/nonbinary communities. There have been multiple laws that people in the country want to propose against the LGBTQIA+ community. Republicans say that they are trying to protect children and use their version of Christianity to justify their actions, yet trans folks and drag performers aren't safety threats to children. Guns are the leading causing death to children. Point is, you're talking about Black people, Black countries, and the Southwest Asian/North African regions/peoples when the westernized (majority White) country is doing the same under White supremacy, capitalism, and their own version of "Christian" extremism. As a faith, Islam and Christianity are beautiful. As a religion, sadly, there are people who use it to oppress and hurt others in extreme ways, hence extremism, which not all peoples in those same religious backgrounds share similar beliefs and views. Check your lens because they are very biased and selective.
  11. I mean, it's clear there is a parasocial relationship with the Monarchy. Let's be real, if anything, most people outside of England are so over the family. They're just a dysfunctional family that could use some therapy to heal their intergenerational traumas of betrayal, racism, infidelity, sibling and parental rivalries, etc. The only difference is that this family has a title before their names and live in a palace, and there's generations of colonization, racism, etc. All they ever do is PR and hire the Sun and Mirror to give good face, like covering up William's infidelity and just bashing Meghan. Yeah, Harry and Meghan are attention-seekers and social-status climbers, but compared to the rest of the family members, they are pretty tame. They're just airing out their dirty laundry for coins with interviews and books. Lizzie still defended her pedo son, Andrew, but no one wants to talk about that. Everyone knows about the skeletons in their closets and the elephants in the room. If anything, the royal family did this to themselves. All the things they ever do are performative.
  12. Honestly, I had a hunch she was doing this as a separate project from her 50 dance hits. I think she was collaborating a while ago with Kanye, and she was giving hints she was doing these collaborations. She's really done it all, and it's nice to see her create remixes of her hits to people who were influenced or inspired by her. It's all full circle. I do hope she does a greatest hits album with recreations or new versions of her hits with many other artists. She's honestly just having careless fun. She's 64. She's been there. She's done that. It's just all fun. I do hope she gives us the house album she suggested on her Q&A.
  13. Not gonna lie, I originally thought that her "Finally Enough Love" project was going to be her reinventing her 50 #1 dance hits with new artists and remixes. I do think that she may release other projects aside from this compilation album. Wasn't she collaborating with Kanye and Honey Dijon months ago? She did say she has other projects coming out. I'm hopeful because I really like the Dembow remix of Hung Up.
  14. I went to the show on the 27th (MNFL4L Seat 419). I saw the Batukadeiras before they marched to the stage to play Batuka and waved to them, and they acknowledged me and smiled. They couldn't wave because they started their cue. During I Rise, they marched out, and I waved again, and so did they. Madonna marched out, too, and I got to touch her shoulder/arm. I really didn't expect to see them up close, and I was so lucky to have a corner seat. I saw her on the 21st at a balcony seat and because no one bought my ticket. I don't regret paying twice to see her. I really liked her show. I won tickets for the Rebel Heart Tour, but I was busy taking pictures and videos that I really didn't get to enjoy it. The tour also seemed rushed, and it didn't help that she had to start her tour immediately after the release of her album due to it leaking way early. I was underwhelmed with the tour because it just lacked originality or creativity. I am glad she chose to get rid of phones and cameras this time around. I was really in the moment at her show. I really will cherish this moment.
  15. I'll be going to the concert on the 21st. I am kind of upset because this was one of the original dates she posted months ago. I paid about 158 dollars for balcony seats, since it was in my budget. About 3 weeks ago, I saw tickets that were the SAME price (158 dollars) for the main floor on the 27th (one of the new dates). I've been meaning to sell my ticket for Monday's show, but no one has bought it. I may just go twice because I do worry the 27th may cancel due to poor ticket sales. I think tickets will decrease in price for that date, so I may just upgrade to better seats, if that's what happens. I can't expect her cancelling. She may just drop down prices to fill in the theatre.
