according to wikipedia both are correct. it depends if you're pronoucing Kyiv (official romanized name) or Kiev (traditional english name for the city - that has being disfavored because it derives from the russian name for the city)

Ukrainians call their capital “Kyiv” (kee-yiv), the spelling, a transliteration of the Ukrainian Київ. The Russian version is “Kiev” (kee-yev).
