I've never used TikTok tbh, my friend showed me it and I could see the appeal to people with no attention span but beyond that I wasn't interested. Bloody Mary charted in the UK singles chart last week at 57 and this week climbed to 56. If that's how the TikTok effect increases sales then I doubt Back That Up is gonna break Madonna's run of flops

I'm genuinely quite intrigued to see whether the Tik Tok effect actually manages to help her chart. If it does then we know she's gonna be targetting 11-18 year olds for the foreseeable future.

There are more than a few occassions Madonna didn't get her way over the years that we know about and sometimes that really was a good thing. She didn't want Rescue Me to be a single, she did want Impressive Instant to be a single, she didn't want American Pie on the Music album or Die Another Day on American Life, she wanted Candy Shop to be Hard Candy's first single, the less said about the blackface Hard Candy cover the better... I'm sure there are others. People always sneer at those who make the decisions at record companies but they didn't get to where they were by making bad decisions. The Interscope years seem to be when she had the most influence over release decisions and look how that turned out.

The Janet thing has to be one of the most spectacular career ending moments in history, the fact she denied it was planned just made it embarassing. Madonna falling was definitely unintentional, nowadays though she'd definitely do it on purpose. With no knickers on and her tits out.

I agree, but I think the genuine lack of interest outside of her small circle of stans on instagram and tiktok hasn't helped either. There seems to have been an attitude that because it's Madonna it'll sell off the back of her name without any care or effort put in and that the few remaining fans she has should be grateful for whatever scraps we get thrown. Yes there have been several releases this year but none of them without issues, both physical and digitally they keep missing the mark as they chuck stuff out with little care for quality or value. Putting things out digitally which should've and could've been available years ago is not a celebration. It all smacks of too little, too late. Personally I'm starting to think this whole project would've been much better co-ordinated without her involvement.

Would've made a great single too. I love all the versions of Hold Tight, strange how it ended up sounding so close to Gwen Stefani's Baby Don't Lie in the end but even that was cool.
