And it goes without saying that Beyoncé and Kanye West accepted to do their cameo just because that Tidal thing... The video could have been better without that messy attempt to imitate Taylor's "Bad Blood"...

She gave Alek final cut approval, so it was really up to him. I think she was a lot more daring back then and her purpose was to show herself in a not so flattering light. There are heaps of things I would have cut out if I were her, lol.

She's so far from being the best selling recording artists of all time. If anything, she's one of the most streamed female artists of all time.

I see that Rihanna updated her sales, I wonder if Madonna does the same
I'm pretty sure that Madonna sold more than 300M units at this point.
Anyway, Rihanna still needs at least 50M more to outsell the un-updated Madonna so it will take Rihanna many years and I wouldn't be surprised at all if she starts fading away.
Said that, Wikipedia list is very inaccurate and does not reflect the real commercial success of an artist. You simply cannot define a unit sale that is the same for all format and types of sales. I mean, a digital track sale should be weighted differently from a physical album sale.
That is why experts have start making more meaningful lists and as far as I know the most reliable list available is the one on chartmasters that uses the CSPC method. If you take a look at it, you'll realize that Rihanna is nowhere near the success of legendary artists:
    1. The Beatles – 405,737,000 (as of Mar 2017)

    You're right, sorry!
Still, Madonna is selling a lot in the world. Immaculate Collection can be found everywhere in the charts.
I may be wrong, but (hopefully) Rihanna has good chances to be forgotten in a few years. All these female artists never last more than a decade. See what happened to Britney and Christina.

The theme this year is 'Camp: Notes On Fashion' and seems a perfect fit for Madonna. I can imagine her slaying the red carpet in a daring, ironic and extreme outfit.
Met's 2019 Costume Exhibition is inspired by Susan Sontag's 1964 essay that defines camp as "love of the unnatural: of artifice and exaggeration."
If anyone understands 'Camp', then it's Madonna.

when tho. how many films is she set to direct by now.
anyways I dont think she should. its great if she wants to shut down movies made about her but her directing a big film about her, uh the potential for disaster is quite high. it would be seen as super egomaniacal and it would be judged really harshly and people would be so skeptical it would never be given a chance.
most probably the whole thing is fake though.

There are some minor issues with the mixing of vocals on some tracks, also the lack of consistency with track volume is a bit annoying, and the fact that some demos are better than the final versions makes "Rebel Heart" far from having a perfect production, but in general, it isn't that bad at all.

I don't remember if we've ever talked about this in a proper thread before but here it goes anyway. I must confess there are days when I only listen to her rare stuff like unreleased tracks, demos, and recordings. You've all been in that mood, haven't you? But the thing that surprises me the most is the few amount of officially released b-sides throughout Madonna's career. Wasn't the reworked demo of History the last one she released during the Warner years? And that was in late 2006!
AIN'T NO BIG DEAL (1986) from the The First Album sessions with Reggie Lucas. It was released on the Papa Don't Preach and True Blue Singles. It can also be found in the Japanese EP of Dress You Up.

SPOTLIGHT (1987) from the True Blue sessions with Stephen Bray with additional production by Jellybean Benitez. Found in every You Can Dance edition around the world.

SUPERNATURAL (1989) from the Like a Prayer sessions with Patrick Leonard. Found in most Cherish single releases.

JUSTIFY MY LOVE (THE BEAST WITHIN MIX) (1990) from the Lenny Kravitz sessions. Virtually a new song itself and used twice in Madonna's tours.

UP DOWN SUITE sometimes labeled as UP DOWN SUITE (DUB) (1993) from the Erotica Sessions with Shep Pettibone. Virtually an extended remix of the outtake GOODBYE TO INNOCENCE which was later released in a random compilation. It can be found in most Rain single and EP releases.

LET DOWN YOUR GUARD (ROUGH MIX EDIT) (1994) from the Bedtime Stories sessions with Dallas Austin. Found in several Secret single releases.

HAS TO BE (1998) from the Ray of Light sessions with William Orbit. Found in some Ray of Light single releases and in the Japanese CD of the album.

CYBERRAGA sometimes spelled as CYBER-RAGA (2000) from the Music sessions with Talvin Singh originally produced by William Orbit. Found in several Music and Don't Tell Me single releases and in the Japanese edition of the Music album.

YOUR HONESTY (2003) from the Bedtime Stories sessions with Dallas Austin. Found in every Remixed & Revisited EP released around the world.

HISTORY (2006) from the Confessions on a Dance Floor sessions with Stuart Price. Found in several Jump single releases.

I still believe we could have got more songs or bonus tracks released as B-sides. Whatever happened to the gorgeous song QUEEN?

Start training your vocal cords 'cause you'll still read the same shit from the same people.
There was always bias against her and there always will be even if she invents a vaccine that ends all the disesases of the world. Some people really feel intimidated and/or feel envy with a woman like her.
The important thing is that she is still in the industry, it's her way to laugh at those who tried (or still trying) to destroy her.
