  1. Sales are really low, I guess around 200-250k? But not too bad given the average these days.
  2. I agree it’s sad but it was bound to happen sooner or later. Very few artists her age release single that even chart. Maybe we expected her to forge that path as she has before but this doesn’t take away her legacy. I’m just glad her albums still reach the top 5 of charts worldwide.
  3. The album will probably fall out of the top 10 next week, if not top 20. The fans all have multiple copies by now and the general public doesn’t care.
  4. I don’t think either of them are among her worst songs ever but yeah, both are far worse than the rest of the album which is otherwise immaculate.
  5. 1. La Isla Bonita 2. Live to Tell 3. Open Your Heart 4. Papa Don’t Preach 5. True Blue 6. White Heat 7. Where’s the Party 8. Jimmy Jimmy 9. Love Makes the World Go Round
  6. Sure it would be great to get number one but it’s very good nonetheless losing to a legend like Bruce Springsteen is better than to be beaten by... a TV series soundtrack or something.
  7. Okay yeah I’m stupid, there’s a countdown on their website. #2 would be great!
  8. Does anyone know when they will be announced? UK charts come out Sunday evening if I remember correctly.
  9. I agree with the majority, this is Madonna’s best album (although Bedtime Stories is usually the one I pick as my favorite) and one of my favorite albums of all time. 1. Frozen 2. Ray of Light 3. Sky Fits Heaven 4. The Power of Good-Bye 5. Drowned World/Substitute for Love 6. Skin 7. Nothing Really Matters 8. Swim 9. Little Star 10. To Have and Not to Hold 11. Shanti/Ashtangi 12. Candy Perfume Girl 13. Mer Girl
  10. Madame X has climed back up to #7 on the UK iTunes. With only a couple of hours left in this chart week, fingers crossed she beats Bastille for #3.
  11. On iTunes. Of course we have to wait for official reports on physical sales so there’s hope yet but I’m not putting too much faith in that widely posted prediction. I’m unfamiliar with the source (looking it up didn’t reveal much to me) but it was posted only two days after the release so it can’t be based on legit data. Following the iTunes trajectory has been so disappointing. Just waiting for the week to be over and the charts to be published so I can move on. Commercial success doesn’t affect my enjoyment of the music but I’d lie if I said I didn’t care about it. Hoping for top 3 debuts in the US and the UK but I wouldn’t be surprised if she misses it in both markets. Then after a week of press celebrating her latest flop it will blow over. I’m being dramatic, I know! [emoji23]
  12. Down to #4 in the US... I hate to say it but this will probably be a commercial flop by Madonna’s standards...
  13. Not sure what those predicted numbers are based on, I would be shocked if physical sales + tour bundles were strong enough to beat Springsteen in the US, and certainly not by such a margin. In the UK, she’ll be lucky to even manage a top 3 placement.
  14. If she’s to direct a movie after the tour ends she probably won’t start making music again until 2022. As for what kind of music she’ll make then, well, we’ll see what’s popular in two years. The only two things that are certain are that fans will continue to ask for her to make music similar to her 80s/90s output and that she isn’t going to.
  15. It’s still holding on to #1 in 44 countries!
