Thanks for all this info, I've seen all of this too but when I try to replicate it, the sound doesn't seem to match. (Mostly tried the Marcato strings EII for papa don't preach which is close but not perfect) Some stuff seems layered as hell like PDP bells right before the chorus. Im so curious to know how they did the bassline for Who's that girl but it could also be a created sound more than a preset.

I am a huge synth and sound design fan and it's surprisingly difficult to find any info about which synth preset was used on madonna's hits. I'm Especially after the true blue era info in order to re create parts from multitracks we dont have yet. Any other info would be valuable. Is there any other synths curious here ?

This all made me realize that the lucky star multitrack is missing some elements sadly.

I am one of those who think the 7'' edit we have is a good reconstruction but not the transfer of the original master used to press the 7''. There was many arguments in favor of this but mainly the hiss that is not there when you turn up the volume during the fade out. And one of the edit point (the one that cuts abruptly towards the end) doesn't seem to be the exact same. In the end it doesn't really matter, to me I'm just fascinated about the work there, do they find the master, do they take the time to recreate an edit...

Hey. I tried to pm you to not pollute this thread but couldn't. I'm interested in knowing how you did to download a dolby atmos version from tidal. I do have tidal but don't think I have the right subscription.

I tried with vlc. By default vlc plays the front channels. (on papa don't preach the strings are absent and only on the back channels). But there is an audio option to put in real stereo. This way you have all instruments.

It's the same but it fades out later. It's a longer version of the 7'' edit.

It's crazy that they always want to go for the latest remaster while I think it's more important to have a cohesive (consistent?) sound for all the tracks of a release.

I come here multiple times a day, read almost everything with care (it's sometimes hard to keep up as it is so living sometimes lol) still learn a lot about my passion and even made friends. I think, unlike us, they just don't care whether a certain word has an echo or not in a different version. What surprises me is that they haven't used CD's as source material like they do a lot in the industry. Someone send them a japanese box !

Haha thanks guys for all your comments, I just spent a week with my nephew listening to a chipmunk singing "gaga holala" on loop so I'm just new to this. To me it's just a destructive effect. I mean it's not professional, everyone can do it at home. But to each there own. Just didn't in know it could actually be sold and people buy it!

What's the point of a speed up or slow down version? It's like being in 2000 again playing with media player. Next week a reversed version. I used to think people were lazy when they put out an Instrumental as track 2 (and god knows I loooove Instrumental more than everything but let's be honest, it's easy to make. ) but this is a whole new level of feeding people with sh*t. Otherwise I'm glad this demo is finally out to the world 😁
